I purchased this knife after seeing a Japanese man quickly clean a fish on television. I got it just in time for my trip to go tuna fishing. When I pulled out this monster knife after catching many excellent tuna, I quickly realized that the man on TV was much more skilled with it than I am. It's not the knife's fault; you just need to get used to having a blade with only one bevel. Instead of floating over the bones, it frequently digs to one side. When I used it as intended to slice and dice fish, I was really impressed. It also works fairly nicely on vegetables. The knife arrived sharp and in good condition. I would also advise getting a blade cover that is 12 inches long and 2 1/2 inches deep. Due to the length and thickness of the spline, the knife has a highly front-heavy feel. I decided to give this knife a try because I thought it looked quite great. Although it's not a really good sushi knife, it is also reasonably priced. The blade comes with a foam-lined, individual box case that you may use to store your knife if you like. I won't lie; I was a little concerned when I noticed how small and light the packaging for this knife was. I decided to try the knife, and I really liked it. For a knife with a sharp, round edge, the pricing is excellent. A nice chef knife of comparable quality would be sharper.
