No, you should not use automotive grease on your fishing reel. Automotive grease is not designed for use on fishing reels and can actually damage the reel.
You can use car grease on fishing reels, but it is not the best option. Car grease is not as durable as reel grease and will eventually break down and cause problems with your reel.
It's not a good idea to use Vaseline or grease on a reel. The Vaseline can attract dirt and grit, which can damage the reel. The grease can also make the reel difficult to clean.
You can use vinegar to clean fishing reel, but it is not the best option. Vinegar is an acidic substance and can damage the fishing reel over time. It is best to use a mild soap and water to clean the reel.

Convenient bottle for the tackle box
Lucas Oil production, 10690 fishing reel oil
1 oz. bottle

The best reel oil available. I own four Abu Garcia C3 6500s. When purchased, they were completely new. I disassembled them, got rid of all the factory grease, and lubricated them with this Lucas Oil reel oil before I went fishing with them. It is incredible. With this oil in place, there is no resistance to the reel.

I bought this oil so I could maintain my brand-new Penn Pursuit reel. Following advise from a Penn technician, I decided to use oil rather than grease because it would be much simpler to use the oil because it is liquid in nature. For the price, I chose the 4-ounce product over the 2-ounce. The 4-ounce bottle of oil contains so much that I advise saving a few dollars and buying the 2-ounce bottle instead, since it will likely last you decades.

It makes for a decent reel cover overall. When you consider how much some of these reels cost, the purchase is unquestionably worthwhile. However, because my reel model, a Squall 25, wasn't included in the Penn size chart, I had difficulties fitting these covers on it.The Velcro tab used to fasten the cover has decent stitching at the seams but poor stitches elsewhere. I hope the Penn logo lasts for a long time despite exposure to the elements; it looks very decent.I did order two sizes, and I was grateful that I could return the one that didn't fit for free. The housing surrounding the handle was incredibly tight, and the XXS size cover felt constricting. Over time, I can see the Velcro's stitching coming apart.Although there is less strain on the Velcro tab, the XS had room to spare and can fit a reel that is bigger than the one I have.I kept the XS cover and didn't have any issues with the seller. The images include: 1) a close-up of the Velcro stitching; 2) a picture of the package; 3) a picture of the Penn size chart; 4) two images of my reel; 5) images of the XS cover; 6) images of the XXS cover.

All varieties of fishing lines benefit greatly from this line relaxant. It does help to lessen the number of bird nests found on baitcasters (reduces the friction of the line). I enjoy the item and use it frequently. However, it is pricey (in my opinion), so use it sparingly.

purchased the firearm on Amazon. The handle on the first one was slightly caved in and crooked. It arrived in a box that was great, but the person who packaged it couldn't help (you'd think) but see how badly the handle was bent. The good news is that they gave me one for free, including postage.People on this site are complaining about rust and paint that is fading. Really!?You don't anticipate rust when you drive a steel tube into saltwater-contaminated sand, do you? Invest in an aluminum or stainless steel gun if you're that concerned. Sand has the same effect as sandpaper and quickly removes paint! If you wish to buy a steel pistol, be prepared to cope with the rusting process being sped up by saltwater. If buying a stainless steel or aluminum pistol helps you feel better, do it instead—they don't catch clams any better.

I had some issues with my six Quantum reels from the previous year's purchases; five of them were back reeling, and one of them was doing it right out of the box. I disassembled them all in the hopes that a thorough cleaning and lubrication would solve the issue before I had to load them all up and inundate their customer care department with complaints. Fortunately, following a complete tear-down and cleaning, all the reels appear to be in fine condition. Now, everything functions as it should. Which, in my opinion, is evidence of the high caliber of this package. Even after tearing down some of my larger saltwater spinning reels, it still contained everything I needed for the reels, and I didn't utilize even a tenth of it. This package, which is about the size of your hand, has everything you need to thoroughly clean and replace all the lubricant. Strongly advised, and I should have purchased mine years ago.
Fishing reels are an essential piece of equipment for any fisherman, but they require regular maintenance to keep them in good condition. Fishing line can become tangled and cause the reel to malfunction, so it's important to keep the line clean and free of debris. The bearings in the reel need to be lubricated regularly to ensure smooth operation, and the drag needs to be adjusted periodically to prevent line breakage. With proper care, your fishing reel will provide years of trouble-free service.
No, reels do not expire. You can use them as long as you'd like.
Fishing reels are a key component to any fishing tackle, and are designed to last for many years with proper care. However, nothing lasts forever and eventually all fishing reels will need to be replaced. The good news is that with proper maintenance, a fishing reel can last for a very long time.
Do reels only last 24 hours? This is a common question that we get here at The Reel Guys. The answer is no, reels do not only last 24 hours. In fact, they can last much longer than that if properly cared for. However, it is important to note that the lifespan of a reel will vary depending on a number of factors, such as the type of reel, the quality of the reel, how often it is used, and how it is stored. With that said, if you take good care of your reel and
Whether you’re a morning person or a night owl, the time of day can affect your fishing success. Some fish are more active at certain times of the day, so it pays to know when they’re biting. Early risers will have the best luck catching sunfish, catfish and bass. These fish are most active in the morning, so it’s the ideal time to cast your line. As the day goes on, the fish will become less active and more difficult to catch. Night owls will have the best luck fishing for
To maintain a fishing reel, you should regularly clean it and lubricate it. You can clean it by disassembling it and wiping it down with a cloth. You should lubricate it by applying a drop of oil to the spindle.
