Wow!!! The outcomes so far after two days are fantastic! My two kitties struggle with their tears. Although they don't appear to stain much, they occasionally cry incredibly thick, gooey tears that end up going all over them and other items. Day one's tears barely had any color, while day two's tears have no goop and are entirely clear. I'm trying to keep this review brief and straightforward because I had to write one on this product. IT OPENS. My dog's eye suddenly turned red and swollen, and if this product didn't work, I was going to take her to the vet. I had tried other remedies, including saline solution, which didn't work at all, and applying cod liver oil to the eye because it has some healing properties, but that didn't help either. She did, however, smell like fish when it was time for bed, though.As soon as I received this product, I applied it right away to her eyes, and after only one day, there was far less mucus coming from her eyes than the day before when I hadn't used this medication. On the second day, practically everything was gone, and she could better control her eyelids while sleeping. After using the remedy for a week, her eyes' puffiness started to go down. I exclaimed, "Yay!" Money stays in the pockets and there is no vet visit. The bottle ran out after a week, so we purchased another one to replace it and make sure the swelling went down. She is now herself and doing much better. I'm overjoyed that I won't need to visit the veterinarian's office. For some time now, my dog has had a dry eye. He overscratched his left eye, resulting in cherry eye. His eye is constantly dry and no longer produces any tears. The veterinarian had advised us that we must continuously give him eye medications to replace his tears. I disagree with the unfavorable comments. The unpleasant odor that another reviewer stated I could not detect. However, after you've got them under control (probably with a systemic medication), Crystal Eyes looks to be an excellent, gentle cleaner. This product does not bleach out pre-existing tear stains from the fur. It helps to clear away any discharge that builds up in my dog's eye corners and doesn't bother her eyes. Every couple of days, I apply it and scrub the entire eye area with a cotton ball in a gentle but thorough manner. My dog is a white Bichon senior who had terrible facial stains when I got her. Her tiny face is now radiant and lovely! She appears to be half her age. I recently bought a second bottle. (4/10/12 — Update. The picture for the product I ordered shows an 8 oz bottle, which is unrelated to the way the product performs. I only received a 4 oz bottle of the product, and the bottle spilled during shipping. Although I believe I was overcharged, doing a return would be too difficult. Even if I'll repurchase Crystal Eye, I doubt I'll do so through Amazon.)

My shih tzu had a severe eye infection that required twice-daily cleaning for weeks. Her eyes would eventually crust shut from the excess tears and muck they produced if they weren't cleansed correctly or frequently.
