Are all dishwasher baskets the same?

Most dishwashers come with a basic silverware basket, but there are other options available that can make your life easier. If you have a lot of big pots and pans, you might want to invest in a dishwasher with a large item basket. If you have a lot of delicate items, look for a dishwasher with a separate basket for those items. You can also find dishwashers with multiple baskets that can be customized to your specific needs.

Are dishwasher racks interchangeable between brands?

Most dishwasher racks are not interchangeable between brands. The racks are designed to fit the specific dimensions of each dishwasher model. The tines on the racks are also spaced differently, so they will not line up correctly if you try to put a rack from one brand into a dishwasher from another brand.

Are Maytag dishwasher racks interchangeable?

Yes, Maytag dishwasher racks are interchangeable. You can purchase a rack that fits your specific dishwasher model, or you can purchase a universal rack that will fit most Maytag dishwashers.

Can I replace my dishwasher racks?

If your dishwasher racks are rusty or damaged, you may be wondering if you can replace them. The good news is that you can, and there are a few different options available. You can buy replacement racks that are made specifically for your dishwasher model, or you can purchase universal racks that will fit most dishwashers. If you're handy, you may even be able to fabricate your own replacement racks.

Kitchenaid dishwasher wheels lower rack W10195416 (4pcs),W/ 1.59 Inch Diameter Wheels for Kitchenaid Whirlpool Kenmore Maytag Dishwasher Rack Parts Perfect Replacement for AP5983730, PS11722152… Review:

Priced at 25% less than on the KitchenAid website. Despite my lack of skill, I mounted these wheels in little over two minutes. I was curious as to why my old wheels suddenly started to break down, and after a few weeks I was only left with one loan wheel. However, these replacement wheels worked as intended, and I'm so far happy with them (one week).

GE WD28X265 Dishwasher Silverware Basket Review:

Our apartment's dishwasher did not come with a utensil basket, so here I am, six months later, reviewing a basket I just bought to fill that gap in my dishwasher's life. I had been carefully wedgeing utensils on the upper shelf between wire grids to prevent the water pressure from knocking them down. The basket does not come with the "snaps" or "brackets," as everyone else has already stated. Nothing more or less than what is seen in the product photo is included. The product is the exact same color and size (7"W x 8.5"L x 5.5"H) (8.5"H if you count all the way to the top of the basket handle). It does have six compartments to divide your forks, knives, steak knives, and spoons. I enjoy it.As far as I can tell, it's pretty solid because I've used the dishwasher on it twice. What did I expect, it's just a dishwasher basket! The dishes are clean, just as I anticipated. It does occupy a substantial amount of room in the back corner, particularly if your dishwasher is a smaller model. Apart than that, it's a fantastic and much-needed purchase!

GE WD28X10128 Dishwasher Silverware Basket Review:

This basket is VERY huge all the way around, so be sure to measure before you buy. Additionally, the gray is considerably darker than what is depicted in the image. There are three distinct snap-on tops that fit over the basket. A little clasp on the bigger central top secures the lid in place, but when unlocked, the entire lid comes off. I made an effort to force it to snap in firmly, but I don't believe it does. The lids aren't spectacular, but they're adequate, and I can live with that. Longer objects shouldn't worry about flipping out during the wash and ending up on the bottom next to the heat elements because the basket is so deep.Although my dishwasher is not a GE, this fit—barely. It would have been my fault for failing to measure my dishwasher and take notice of the specified size. The 8" high basket is wide enough to fit the full bottom rack. PLEASE NOTE: There is no upper rack washing arm on my dishwasher. If yours does, make sure the handle is facing the door when you flip the basket. Although I'm not sure if it will affect the spinning arm, I would still advise you to position it that way in order to obtain a clean wash. The handle was originally going to be inside the basket to make loading it simpler, but since I wanted to get as much water and soap on them as I could, I turned it around so the handle was facing the door and the basket was facing inwards. Since I always fully extend the rack when loading the dishwasher, I don't really have any trouble reaching across to load.My knives are too thick to fit in the slots, so they end up in one of the two side pockets that I left open on purpose for larger things. I got the basket mostly so that I could stack the silverware in the individual slots to enable more complete cleaning. My smaller spoons and forks swing free because the basket is so deep, but it is not a great concern. I'd say it's generally pretty reliable and meets my needs, so I'd suggest it. However, be careful to measure!

Universal Dishwasher Silverware Replacement Basket - Utensil/Cutlery Basket - Fits Bosch, Maytag, Kenmore, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, LG, Samsung, Frigidaire, GE Review:

The larger basket that came with my KitchenAide dishwasher was intended to hold excess cutlery, and I wanted this to manage that. The two new, easily distinct baskets were organized by myself. This was something I needed to go along with the bigger basket I already have in my dishwasher. I set up the new basket(s) in a T-bone configuration, which is ideal for sorting the plastic cookware that I now recycle. Sterling and stainless steel go in my primary basket. I might use paper plates on busy days, but I'll never discard plastic cutlery once more. Exactly what I need.

Prince Lionheart Complete Dishwasher Basket System Review:

One of my all-time favorite baby products is this one! We use Playtex Ventaire bottles, which feature a twist-off top, nipple, and cover in addition to two sections that twist off the bottom. Before we received this, I was getting so sick of scrubbing bottles. The infant basket is typically all I need to fit all of her bottle components. I'll use both the toddler and infant baskets at once if I've used a lot of bottles, especially with the covers. Both of these fit well in my dishwasher. I also appreciate having the containers for various miscellaneous kitchen goods. When our baby was 5 months old, we went on a 2-week trip, so I had to make sure to pack the infant basket. I wasn't interested in using my vacation time to wash bottles. I can't comment on the valve cleaner because I haven't tried it yet. When I've used sippy cups in the past, I've simply thrown the small pieces in the basket. I strongly advise purchasing these dishwasher baskets!

White Dishwasher Basket by Better Houseware Review:

Since I can remember, I have always had a basket like this one in the top rack of my dishwasher. They are the perfect size to hold the small items that can't be placed in the dishwasher loose but aren't too huge to take up a lot of room. Typically, the white covering ultimately cracks after several years of use, and I have to purchase a new one. It did make a difference with a few items that didn't fit as well as I would have wanted because the prior baskets I had had the bottom just slightly smaller than the top (so the edges were at a very minor slant). This specific brand, which I recently purchased, is ideal because the bottom and top of the basket are the same width (just like several baskets I owned quite a few years ago), and it really makes a difference (in my opinion). Despite the fact that this was a relatively little buy, I am happy with it and would definitely suggest it.

kenmore dishwasher top rack parts (2pcs) W10350376 W/ 0.9 Inch Diameter Wheels for Kenmore Kitchenaid Whirlpool,Perfect design Replace AP5272176 PS3497383 W10253546 Review:

I bought this one to replace a broken wheel on my dishwasher's adjuster. The wheel was slightly smaller than the previous one, but the unit comfortably fit on the rack. This hasn't been a problem because of how the rolling bars are positioned on my dishwasher. Especially considering the price, it is well worth the buy!

Universal Dishwasher Cutlery Basket (9.45" x 5.5"x 4.7") fits Kenmore, Whirlpool, Bosch, Maytag, KitchenAid, Maytag, Samsung, GE, and more (Original Version) Review:

I decided to give this a try because my cutlery basket had holes in the bottom after reading a number of conflicting reviews. I'm extremely upset since, like many others have noted, the handle portion is gone from mine as well. I have no idea who I can get in touch with to receive the handle. Other than that, the basket perfectly fits my Maytag quietseries 200. I'll change my rating to five stars if I manage to get that handle.*** Update *** I raised my star rating to 4. I did deduct 1 star for the inconvenience of having to return it, but Amazon was wonderful about sending me a replacement straight immediately. Since I don't have a UPS store nearby, they also booked UPS to come pick up the other one at my house. That was incredibly useful. Now with a handle, this well-made basket perfectly fits my dishwasher.

[Upgraded] Ultra Durable W10350376 Dishwasher Top Rack Adjuster Replacement part by Blue Stars - Exact Fit For Whirlpool & Kenmore Dishwashers - Enhanced Durability with Steel Screws - PACK OF 2 Review:

The higher rollers in my 7-year-old Kenmore Elite dishwasher needed to be changed. Although some retailers provide metal roller assemblies that are marketed as replacements for original plastic roller assemblies, the Blue Star roller assemblies were the perfect fit for my machine, not the metal ones. Simply inspect the assembly before inserting the new rollers to install the replacement rollers, which are rather simple. Although the rollers on Blue Star products are more solid and made of stronger gauge plastic, you should still double-check that they are rolling freely and are not stuck (you can loosen the metal screws if necessary). Since the plastic components on the Kenmore/Whirlpool design simply cannot withstand repeated exposure to hot water and detergent, I will continue to replace the upper and lower rollers as necessary until the appliance finally succumbs to wear and tear as long as I can continue to purchase high-quality replacements (like a major part failure).

Over time, the drain plug can become clogged with food and debris, which can cause your dishwasher to not drain properly. If you notice that your dishwasher is not draining properly, you should check the drain plug to see if it needs to be cleaned or replaced.
