My pool doesn't get vacuumed very often. I chose an automatic vacuum in order to never have to vacuum again. It operates well!I bought a vacuum caddy with wheels, which I roll out in the morning. It takes me a minute or two to set it up. I switch it on after that and return in a few hours. I then take it out of the pool, remove the two filter cartridges, open them up, clean them with a hose, and put them back in the vacuum. I wheel it back into my garage after mounting the vacuum and coiling the cords. The device needs to be cleaned and stored in about 5 to 10 minutes.The pool is thoroughly cleaned by the vacuum, which even reaches the walls. If there is anything noticeable on the step, I simply use the pole brush to knock it off and the vacuum sucks it up during the cleaning procedure. It does not do a fantastic job on the 3–4 inch step that surrounds the entire pool.Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this product.

My pool cleaner stopped climbing the walls at the start of the season. The cleaner once again claimed the walls like it did when it was brand-new after placing these new climbing rings. Although I believe these rings were overpriced, they have increased the cleaner's usable life. However, you should be informed that even for someone who is skilled with a screwdriver and other equipment, the procedure of removing the old rings and installing the new ones is very laborious. It is necessary to disassemble the cleaner significantly. You can find a really useful video to guide you through the procedure online. I would repurchase, although I wish the cost had been lower.

I have therefore been suffering—let me say that again—suffering for more than five years with a Kreepy Krauly Great White, which sells for more than $400. I've been researching robotic vacuum cleaners for a while. There were 2 steps to this project. 1) Get rid of the majority of the tree limbs that hang over or near the pool and drop leaves in it, and 2) Buy a REAL robotic pool cleaner. This weekend, the first step was finished. After trimming as many limbs as possible, the area above the pool is now completely free. Step 2 began on Monday when I stumbled upon this robotic vacuum. It had a number of positive reviews AND a $50 rebate, so I said, "What the heck, I might as well get it." The vacuum arrived yesterday (Wednesday), but I had work to finish up first. The tree cutters left three enormous piles of tree branches for us to move to the streets so the city rubbish can pick them up. I cleared the two mounds close to the pool three hours later. The winter net, which had previously been the only barrier against leaves and other debris, had to be taken out of the pool. Since my Kreepy Krauly Great White won't enter the shallow part of the pool, there was already a lot of debris there. Of course, removing the net means that all the debris caught on its edges would probably fall into the water. EVER. So, I removed the Great White and took pictures of it for its eBay auction despite the fact that our pool was full of garbage. I eagerly flipped open the Dolphin Escape. I was eager to give it a try. Right out of the package, it was ready to use. Untangling the cord entirely, I dropped the device in the water, hit start, and connected the power wire to the power supply. The pool looked like the one I provided an hour later. Now, to be fair, not everything was successfully ejected on the first go. When I woke up, I'd say 99 percent of the debris was completely gone after I ran it for a second cycle and went to bed. I was overjoyed. All of that things was within the debris canister when I pulled it out and opened the lid. It was simple to empty, wash with a hose, and reassemble. I turned off the electricity, untangled, and wound the cord onto the device as directed, then set it upside-down in my storage shed so it could take a sleep after all the hard work. I can't express how happy I am with this purchase enough. I also purchased the 4 year extended warranty that was offered, and I urge everyone to do the same. Given that it will likely continue for a long time, I would describe this as a major victory. In the winter, I imagine I'll need to do this maybe twice or three times a week, but I might not even need the pool net any longer!EDIT: I saw that the cleaner pops a wheelie when it changes directions, leaving the ground and floating. I called Maytronics, and they informed me that this is a feature rather than a defect. Although I find that hard to believe, I can't hold that against them as it still cleans perfectly every time.Update 7/20/17: The unit is still functioning BRILLIANTLY. I use it once a week and haven't run into any issues. I'll repeat: purchase the extended warranty. It's almost rare of to get an extended warranty on a pool cleaner, so get one while you can. However, the machine is still running like a champ!

I've been using a Polaris 360 pool pump for over ten years, and it works wonderfully. However, I just installed a solar pool heater, which increased the strain on the pump. I thus looked for a means to reduce the load on the pump. I looked about, but the local pool shops were much more expensive and illiterate. Due to the fact that my prior 360 did a terrific job except for every three to four years of maintenance, I made the decision to go with Jandy Zodiac once more. A lot of service dealers are nearby, and the Jandy appears to be solidly built. I received it today and began to work cleaning my pool. What a noticeable difference! Why did we wait so long to buy it, I wonder! Additionally, cable is no longer a concern because it now comes with a tangle-free system. Toby is the name our 3-year-old gave him, and so far, the entire family seems pleased. If there are any issues, I'll keep this review up to date. So let's wait and see because it has a two-year warranty!Update: It works beautifully when used with the solar breeze pool skimmer and solar ionizer! One thing to keep in mind is that cleaning the filter and spraying clean tap water on the robot after every usage will make the Polaris last longer. Remember that chlorine and salt water ruin everything!Get the optional fine filter, per update 2. a significant difference. I use Polaris every other day and alternate the filters.Update 3: After using it on alternate days, it flipped today and was unable to right itself, much like a turtle on its back. Since this is the first time I have seen it, I am still pleased and will keep it.

After reading primarily excellent reviews and its top ranking here, we bought the Dolphin Premier. We don't have the luxury of having the time to manually go around the pool with a typical vacuum every day because of our hectic schedules. Because we have many trees, the pool requires ongoing maintenance. The inground pool is nearly complete, but we've already used the cleaner around 20 times because the landscaping around it and the frequent high winds we've recently had keep the pool unclean and necessitate its use. Only the large bag and the medium filters have I so far utilized for cleaning. I believe the large bag is mostly used for leaf collection, but I've been using it to remove fallen sticks, leaves, and ground as well. Worms also seem to love to enter the sink whenever it rains for no apparent reason. The robot understands everything pretty well. However, cleaning the bag is a pain. No quick fix. After each use, I can't wash it by hand because of time constraints. In order to get the gunk out, I let the bag run in the unit for maybe five runs before unhooking it. The bag, clearly, has a far larger capacity for debris than do pleated filters. I almost always have to wash them with a hose following, which is why I temporarily quit using them. With those, I would frequently experience the "clogged" light as a result of the pool's previous cleanliness. I believe they are primarily for a pool that is fairly clean. I'm going to continue using the large canvas bag until the landscaping around the pool is finished. Now for my complaints:1. Terrible instructions (VERY VERY vague on the operation of the robot).2. There is absolutely NO MENTION of the techniques required to make the push/pull knobs on the handle climb the walls more effectively (had to resort to a guy on youtube to find out whatever these even did)3. Doesn't scale the walls (this might be due to some dirt, but our water's chemistry is sound, so we're not sure). I have to guess that issue is because the handle's floats are not properly set. Since the brushes are brand-new, they cannot be the ones listed in the instructions.4. The unit appears to only perform a process for roughly an hour, and to my understanding, this cannot be modified for, say, two or three hours at a time. Who actually utilizes the robot in that manner if the power pack's buttons are just for how many times a week? After a run or two, I take mine out to wash it out after cutting the power, which resets everything anyhow.5. We also purchased a remote control, which is largely worthless. only a few brief instructions on the fundamentals. The robot can be moved manually, but it is excruciatingly slow. The rapid cycle that instructs the robot to refrain from attempting to climb the walls DOES NOT WORK. I've tried everything, but I can't get those two remote controls to do anything. Still runs for hours and tries to scale the walls every time, but is unable to.6. As a final option, we offer a steel-lined pool with a hopper design. The robot is unable to run on a flat surface and is frequently trapped straddling those hopper lines. Even when it knows it can't, it will still attempt to climb up. It might struggle there for a few minutes before giving up and moving backward.

2017 UPDATE: My TigerShark is still doing a fantastic job in his second season with me. This year, I changed the filters since I thought it was an inexpensive method to maintain my Shark operating efficiently from year to year. I would also strongly advise splurging on the caddy. It is so much simpler to get this little boy, who is very heavy, into and out of the pool area.I decided to purchase the TigerShark after conducting hours and hours of study on robotic cleaners. It does a good job of sucking up stones or big chunks of mulch that accidentally fall into the deep end, and I'm always impressed when it does.PROS: Excellent cleaning results, simple to use (literally one button).Cons: It's a lot of work to get it out of the pool once it's finished because it's so heavy. If you have back problems or other issues with hard lifting, do NOT buy this. When the TigerShark is finished and filled with water, removing it from the pool is like removing a 50-lb sack of concrete. Another drawback is that cleaning the filter after each use is awkward and laborious, and you never feel as though you've completely cleaned it for the next usage.
