If your lawn is looking more brown than green, don't despair. There are a few things you can do to bring it back to life. First, check to see if the brown grass is just dormant. If it's still green at the roots, it just needs some water to perk it up. Give it a good soaking, and it should start to green up again within a few days. If the roots are brown, however, the grass may be dead. In that case, you'll need to reseed the area to get it looking green again.
Yes, you can paint your dead grass, but it is not recommended. This is because painting your dead grass will not make it green again, and it will also prevent the grass from getting the sunlight it needs to photosynthesize.
Yes, frequent mowing thickens grass. Mowing actually helps to stimulate growth in the grass plants. When the grass is cut, the plant sends out signals to produce more leaves. This results in a thicker lawn.
No, grass paint does not come off in rain.

It's a terrific lawn paint. Finding the ideal water to paint ratio requires considerable trial because the paint is quite concentrated. I'd advise keeping a second bucket of water and a scrub brush handy to swiftly clean up any drips or sprays that could accidentally land somewhere they shouldn't. On heated concrete, this material dries in an instant. Wire bristles and a hose worked well for us in the event that it has already dried. This product was simple to use and looks fantastic. We began receiving compliments from numerous passing drivers before we had even finished applying it. We used a lot more in the end than we had planned. Given that it was our first try, it might have been the result of inadequate application method. At a 1:15 ratio, we used more over half the bottle on our approximately 1300 square foot grass. Our lawn was entirely yellow and dormant. Everything's been almost a month, and it still looks fantastic. I would advise purchasing this item.

Old retirees who make up our neighbor's HOA are constantly looking for methods to fine neighbors in the name of "bringing down the value of the neighborhood." Our front yard looked terrible after a dry summer coupled with a malfunctioning sprinkler system, and the HOA police were out in full force threatening to fine us for our eyesore. I panicked and made the decision to purchase this spray in order to tide me over till I came up with a permanent solution because I didn't want to spend money on re-sodding anything.I had enough when it swiftly arrived to spray our front lawn. If there were ever a magic cure for grass, this is it! I couldn't believe how natural our crunchy, brown grass appeared to be renewing in front of my eyes (or at least it appeared to be doing so).Wear gloves when spraying because it leaks. Spray at dusk so your neighbors won't notice and wonder what black magic you're performing. When our HOA walking group walked by the very following day, I genuinely witnessed people's mouths drop because they were so perplexed by what we had done the night before. Needless to say, we avoided a fine and the color persisted for MONTHS before it began to rain in the fall, giving us time to redesign the yard. As long as they didn't step on my freshly green, crunchy grass, everything went OK. To avoid any HOA BS, I now always keep a spare bottle on hand in case I need to clean up the lawn.

I bought this for a little patch of lawn that died from serious sprinkler problems we haven't had time to address. I bought a new sprayer, put on some old clothing, some rubber gloves, and some boots, and started working. When I first put the dye in the sprayer, I turned the water on the hose too quickly and everything turned green. I made a move and promptly cleaned it up. To prevent coloring your house, your concrete, or even yourself, be cautious, move slowly, and be intentional.I started in a deserted area of the backyard. In order to maintain consistent coverage, I quickly pushed the sprayer head back and forth. I believe that additional dilution would assist with that, but the recommended ratios worked just well.I went to the front yard after that. To keep the spray away from the wall, driveway, and fence, I utilized a piece of flat cardboard, which appeared to work nicely. Steel wool was used right away to clean up the areas that I neglected to preserve. The end result was even, organic, and GREEN! When they left for work and the grass was brown, I'm sure my neighbors were perplexed to see it green when they got home.I should have remembered to take photos, but I will when I use it again. It's an excellent product!

The local golf course also employs this material. I attached a before and after photo (I have two sections, like the lawn section in the picture, so maybe close to 800 square feet FYI), and while I could have gone full emerald green, I kept it pretty "light" since I thought it looked a little more natural. I read a lot of reviews on this site and the advice and comments were helpful to me, so I'm hoping this review will be helpful to you as well.I had NO issues with gumming up or clogging, in contrast to many other reviewers, but I did as instructed and gave the bottle a REALLY good shake. Make no mistake, this is paint—really thick paint with a viscosity resembling runny yogurt—so shake it vigorously. Then it instructs you to first add water to the sprayer before adding the product. This action, in my opinion, is quite crucial. I may have also prevented clogging by using the Chapin's 2 gallon sprayer with "sure spray Anti-Clog filter for clog-free spraying," which I purchased here on Amazon. I followed the instructions and gave the 2 gallon water-filled container a vigorous shake after I applied the paint. I continued shaking it as I painted the lawn, believing it would keep the product from settling and possibly producing a clog. It's possible that the sprayer's anti-clog mechanism at the sprayer's tube end also contributed. Because of all the reports regarding sprayers clogging, I went ahead and washed out the spray tube and the small "anti-clog" attachment before refilling the container with water and adding paint once more, even though it hadn't clogged. Now, some more advice. It's not a very large container! 32 ounces seems like a lot, but it only calls for 6 to 12 ounces per gallon! Since the directions state to paint the grass twice—vertically and then horizontally—I chose to err on the side of too little paint rather than too much because I did not want to run out and I'm cheap. I therefore used 6 ounces per gallon. There was plenty there. (May have additionally prevented blockage.) Being the cheapskate that I am, I only added 8oz to the entire 2 gallons of water the second time for the second coat. It genuinely appeared to be okay! I still have 12 oz left over for further use.Remember what some reviewers have said in the meantime! This is paint, and it will stain everything—your clothes, shoes, hands, cement, etc.! Actually, it appears to discolor more readily and quickly than normal paint. I thus put on gloves, paint pants, and bags on my feet before using a large piece of cardboard to "hide" the edges (see photo). To quickly clean up a spill, keep some water and a rag nearby.I strongly advise treating your lawn the same way you would paint a wall. Start with the trim, as I did (circumnavigating the grass with a sizable piece of cardboard to catch overspray), and after that, you may just paint the interior without being concerned about overspray. You can figuratively paint the lawn emerald green if you go slowly and closely. I moved quickly, using wide strokes that were about 2-3 feet apart, and I wore a light coat. The second coat was applied using the same technique, but I changed the direction of my strokes. I could have applied a third coat with the paint I had left over, but I liked how it looked as it was.

I was worried this product would produce a lawn that was "too green" and appeared artificial turf... I discovered the exact reverse to be true. Despite the fact that they refer to it as "paint," it actually functions more like a "stain" and has a more natural-looking, slightly opaque finish. If you use the appropriate mix ratio, your grass won't totally turn green, but the yellow spots will be much reduced. Instead of a completely solid, uniform green color that would appear as though you "spray painted" the grass, I actually kind of enjoy that it still has a slight touch of the yellow since it looks incredibly natural. For my part, I don't want my lawn to resemble the 85-year-old woman with the outrageously brilliant red hair and the "dye-line" running across her scalp. This stuff appears really natural and blends in. Sure, you can always skew the ratio to be a little more concentrate-heavy if you want to "go greener," but color matching largely depends on the sort of grass you have (not all grass is the same, there are a variety of grasses for different climates, etc.) Therefore, I don't hold it against the manufacturer if they erred on the side of diluting... I've discovered that almost all paint coverage recommendations are based on a "best case scenario under perfect conditions"; you just learn to take that into consideration when ordering paint, stain, dye, or pretty much anything else.

I had serious doubts about the stuff my wife had purchased. The paint and sprayer (which were both ordered from Amazon) showed up promptly, and the sprayer was unexpectedly high-quality. The directions are pretty straightforward; to get the desired results, use either a 10 to 1 (darker green) or a 15 to 1 (lighter green) water to paint ratio, according to the instructions. Accordingly, this mixture will yield approximately one gallon of paint at a 15-to-1 ratio. We combined a half gallon at a ratio of 15 to 1 and tested it. After deciding to darken the mixture, it turned out that 12 to 1 is the ideal ratio for Kentucky bluegrass patches. We sprayed brown Kentucky Bluegrass (we have a 10 by 10 patch in the front yard that falls dormant in the first few weeks of summer because the soil is poor or there is something buried there). It worked amazingly. Even though it was amazing, I was still hesitant to spray it because I wasn't really sure how it would function when applied wet.One important thing to remember is to refrain from passing judgment while spraying something while standing right on top of it. Spray a test patch, then back away. You won't be able to distinguish between them! fantastic stuff

The Lawnlift is wonderful in filling in those areas of the lawn (little, vast, or even most of it) that frequently turn yellow or simply won't stay green for long enough. We bought the half gallon to cover roughly 2000 square feet. We spent $25 on a Gilmour sprayer to apply this product. We diluted it a little bit more than Lawnlift advises in order to match the neighborhood's green. The grass had a freshly hydrated appearance after being sprayed, and it actually appeared better than genuine grass! We snapped a before-and-after photo. My brother believed we were using Photoshop.Watch the how-to video provided by Lawnlift. Regarding the application technique, it was really useful. Lawnlift advises not watering the grass beforehand. A minimum of an hour should pass before it starts to rain. You may make the color last longer by following these guidelines. The lawn has remained green and lush despite two weeks of soaking and abnormally strong rainstorms. This product comes highly recommended if you live in a dry region and want to get rid of that bothersome HOA.
Lawn paint is usually made with water-based latex paint, so it will come off with a power washer. You may need to use a detergent specifically made for paint removal. Be sure to test the paint remover on a small, inconspicuous area of your lawn before using it on the entire lawn.
Lawn paint is a type of paint that is specifically designed to be used on grass. It is a water-based paint that is safe for both humans and animals. Lawn paint can be used to cover up bare spots on your lawn, or to add a bit of color to your grass. It is important to note that lawn paint does not actually change the color of your grass, but rather it adds a tint to it. The tint will fade over time, so it is important to reapply the paint every few weeks to keep your lawn looking its best.
The best way to make your grass greener and thicker is to fertilize it regularly. You can also try to overseed your lawn to make it thicker. Overseeding is when you sow grass seed into an existing lawn to thicken it up.
Lawn paint is a great way to add a pop of color to your yard without having to plant new flowers or shrubs. Plus, it’s a great way to keep your grass looking green and healthy during the hot summer months. Here’s how to make your own lawn paint: 1. Start with a base of either white latex paint or grass seed. 2. Add food coloring or natural dyes to create your desired color. 3. Mix well and apply to your lawn with a paintbrush or roller. 4. Lawn paint is a great way to add some color to your lawn without having to worry about it fading away quickly. However, you may be wondering how long lawn paint actually lasts. Lawn paint typically lasts for around 2-3 weeks before it starts to fade. However, this will depend on factors such as how often you mow your lawn and how much sun it gets. If you want your lawn paint to last longer, you can try applying a clear sealant over it.
