I bought them to use as dog food cans. I needed something that will accommodate a range of different sizes because I never seem to buy the same wet food twice. We used to scoop the remainder into Tupperware and store it in the fridge for the next day because we feed dry/wet mix, so there is typically half a can leftover after each feeding. Scooping the paté-style stuff from a can into Tupperware, which will then need to be cleaned the next day, took a lot of time. These avoid wasting of the pricey dog food while also saving time and sanity. To be safe, I'll probably get another pair.

I purchased this (a 50-pound upright model) because I finally felt terrible enough to stop giving my dog hard, stale food. I've been wanting something for years, but I haven't actually made the purchase yet. It's been almost two months since I started using it, and it's a truly excellent product. I don't have to worry about bugs getting in, and it keeps the old boy's food nice and fresh (although I never actually had that problem). I can use my old 1-cup measuring cup again thanks to the attached scoop, but I do believe it could be a little off. The top of the Vittles Vault cup really touches the bottom of one cup from any of my kitchen measuring cups. It's not a big problem if it's really closer to 1 and 1/4 cups.The promise that this device can store 50 pounds of dog food is my major complaint with it. Actually, it doesn't. Some suggest that the 50-pound claim does not necessarily apply to dog food, but may instead be referring to something like bird seed. Though it is stated on the tag that it can hold "50LB dog food." I can only fit around 35 pounds of larger kibble or about 40 pounds of little puppy kibble (Pro Plan Puppy formula) in this device (Pedigree Adult). Naturally, it will vary depending on the food brand, but 40 pounds is a far more reasonable estimate.

This cover does suit the smaller cat food cans, such as the Fancy Feast 3 oz. and prescription 2.8 oz. cans. The cover snaps on firmly enough that I can lift the can by the cover while removing or replacing it from the refrigerator, and the cover will remain in place. For me, it's simple to remove the cover by, say, pushing up one of the ears, and when I replace it on the can, I hear an audible click to confirm that it is properly fastened. In the can, the food remains moist and fresh.I haven't had any issues (as reported in other reviews) attaching or removing the cover from the can. The only color I would not have preferred is yellow, but I am okay with the fact that I purchased two of these covers and received two blue ones. Overall, these are unbeatable considering the price I paid (just over $1 each cover) and the fact that I didn't have to leave the house to acquire them thanks to Amazon Prime. From myself and my two extremely spoiled cats, thank you!However, I should point out that these covers might or might not fit the typical 5.5 oz. cat food cans. In the event that the covers "fit," the fit is loose, the cover moves around while attached to the can, and the cover does not feel at all secure. I wouldn't take the chance of picking up the 5.5 oz. can by the lid because it seems like the cover will simply come off, letting the can drop to the floor or counter and cause a mess. However, there are some 5.5 oz. cans of wet cat food where these covers snap on tightly and correctly without any of the problems mentioned above. There are other coverings that suit the standard 5.5 ounce cans much more regularly, so I'd just pick one of those since you might not be able to tell if your specific cans would work with these covers.

fulfils its goal. I changed the one I'd previously purchased from Walmart. The previous one was no longer sealed because rodents had chewed through the plastic. Although it wasn't a big concern, moving it about outside had worn down the wheels. I would purchase $50 bags from Walmart in order to roll it into the empty container upstairs rather than lugging it down. then move the container to my basement by rolling it down my driveway. That wasn't good for the wheels, I guess. When the dog food comes in once a month, I now store it upstairs and only move it a very small distance inside.
