Do birds not like blue feeders?

No one really knows why, but birds seem to prefer feeders that are red, orange, or yellow. Blue feeders are often ignored by birds. Some scientists believe that birds may be able to see ultraviolet light, which could make red, orange, and yellow stand out more to them.

Do birds poop near bird feeders?

Do birds poop near bird feeders? Birds are creatures of habit and will typically poop in the same general area where they eat and sleep. So, if there is a bird feeder in your yard, it is likely that the birds will poop nearby. While this may not be the most desirable outcome, it is a natural part of having wild birds in your yard.

Do wind chimes scare birds away?

There is no scientific evidence that wind chimes scare birds away. However, many people believe that the sound of wind chimes can be unpleasant for birds and that the movement of the chimes can startle birds. BWOGUE Bird Parrot Feeding Cups with Clamp Stainless Steel Food Water Bowls Dish Feeder for Cockatiel Conure Budgies Parakeet Parrot Macaw Small Animal Chinchilla Review:

After almost four years, our chinchilla thought that the sides of her plastic food dish would make a good snack. So we made the decision to buy this metal dish. Its size is practically identical to that of her previous bowl, and she instantly began eating from it. The screw on the side of her cage has remained in place for the past two weeks and hasn't even the slightest bit loosened. (However, I wish the wing nut were a little bit bigger so it would be simpler to tighten the first time.) Very pleased with this purchase.

Mrli Pet Food & Water Bird Cup with Clamp Holder Stainless Steel Coop Cup Feeding Dish Feeder for Parrot Macaw African Greys Budgies Parakeet Cockatiels Conure Lovebird Finch Small Animal Cage Bowl Review:

well-made with a fair amount of metal thickness that perfectly fits the ring. Our guinea pigs always knock the stinkin' bowl over a minute or so after we fill it with food, which isn't to say that this is a design problem. As soon as I turn away from them, they manage to slip underneath it, push it out of the ring, and disperse their food. Irritating. But it's better than their tripping on a bowl's loose edge and knocking it over before they've even taken a bite.

Grateful Gnome - Hummingbird Feeder - Hand Blown Glass - Blue Egg with Flowers - 36 Fluid Ounces Review:

This feeder is very pretty. I bought it to replace my previous Grateful Gnome feeder because the base had started to peel and rust over time (it was highly used and served its purpose well). I deducted one rating since the box did not contain the advertised S hook, much like my old feeder. There was an area of the styrofoam that had been cut off, but no S hook. And I notice that other people have voiced similar complaints. Since accidents do happen—perhaps someone opened the package and it fell out—I didn't get upset the first time. But it was a little annoying that it repeated itself. I informed the business in writing, and to their credit, they offered to send me one. However, by that time, I had already purchased one on my own. You can feel okay about getting this because they offer excellent customer service and a great product, but be aware that you might not get your S hook right away.

Perky-Pet 312 Panorama Bird Feeder, 2 lbs Review:

Although I'm not often impressed, THIS tiny feeder is extremely nice! Both filling and attaching the top to the tube are extremely simple processes. I've seen a lot of complaints regarding the top being "broken" or customers being unable to attach it to the feeder's body. Most of these assertions are false. Fair enough, Perky Pet didn't provide directions on how to attach the top, but come on, it's not complicated. By laying it over the body and pressing the tiny button while pulling UP on the wire hook from which it hangs, the top can be fastened. By doing this, the feeder will be secured in place and be free to hang without tilting and spilling the meal. It only took me 30 seconds to realize this. Here are this product's benefits and drawbacks:1) Simple to put together and hang.2) Generally squirrel-proof provided it is mounted properly. Only by knocking the hanging wire and causing the feed to flow to the ground can squirrels gain access to the food. However, even if they are successful, they only receive a small amount, and even then, only when the feeder is nearly empty.3) Birds adore this object to the hilt.4) Handles the weather well. Although my top has experienced some minor deterioration from the outdoors, it is still quite useful.CONS1) There will be some spilling. The food tube is more prone to tilting and leaking the less food is in it. It's still rather little.2) Cardinals and finches are the only tiny birds that should truly be using the feeder. Despite this, blue jays in our region continue to frequently gravitate toward this object. Unfortunately, because they are a bit larger (and messier) than smaller birds, jays have a tendency to tilt and scatter food more. Again, keeping it filled with seed will greatly decrease tilting. Spillage will become more noticeable as it becomes more empty, but it won't be bad. Conclusion: BUY THIS FEEDER. It's a fantastic value for the money, will look AMAZING in your yard, and will make you a hero to birds everywhere.

Lixit Animal Care Rabbit Feeder/Water Fountain, 48-Ounce Review:

Despite the fact that I did not have a good experience with the vendor (I had to return it due of the way they conduct business), I must admit that I adore the product. Be advised that the price of this product should only be between $5 and $7 USD. Beware of excessive pricing! Here is the review!Because I love it so much, I may even buy a few more. I filled it with water, which is what I got it for. With motorized water bowls, there is always a risk of error. So that it doesn't spill, put it on the ground. Not this at all! I simply turned it over, and the ideal amount of water began to slowly pour out of the groove. My bunny isn't terrified at all because it doesn't gulp noisily; in fact, it is absolutely silent. After giving it a few sniffs, he went right to it. The bottle size is acceptable, but I wish it were larger. Hopefully, Lixit will eventually produce larger bottles! Despite being easily reachable, my powerful male bunny finds it difficult to relocate. If your rabbit is rough or likes to tug, be careful when it gets to the low side because it can make a little splash. I heartily endorse using this for water. Food is definitely also beneficial, even though I don't eat it. I absolutely adore it!

Kaytee Finch Feeder Review:

I bought this and put wagner's nyjer seed inside. It replaced a simple finch sock that I had previously filled with Nyjer seed from Walmart.I am extremely happy with it, and I was also very happy to see that the one I received was yellow. I had read somewhere that using the color yellow will draw in more goldfinches. With the exception of the yellow instead of the green, mine has occasionally resembled the image.I particularly enjoy that, in contrast to simple sock feeders, this one has a hopper at the top, allowing me to fill it while the socks continue to be filled as the birds eat. When I first got it, I noticed that some feed was coming out of the hopper, and I assumed that this was because I was using it incorrectly. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed that there are 4 clips that tightly hold the clear part of the hopper on, and one of them appears to be broken. I will therefore buy another one of these (I need another feeder anyhow), and if the new one doesn't have a fourth broken clip, I will return the old one. I have to fill the hopper every day because the amount of finches I get reduces it from being full to roughly 1/5 in a single day. The finches love the hopper because it can carry a good amount of food. They only utilize the long clear finch feeder I placed immediately next to this one if there isn't enough room on this one for more finches (or if there is an aggressive finch that feels it needs more area). Perhaps I should have just purchased a second of these, but I prefer to provide variation for my birds.Edit: It has just been one or two days since I published the review, and the birds have already used up the hopper and about 1/4 of one sock in that time. When I purchased the feeder, I also purchased a 10 lb bag of Nyjer feed, which I recently emptied. I've already eaten up the full 10 lb bag of feed after only 8.5 days (plus 0.5 because I'm typing this in the morning and it was arrived in the afternoon). I still haven't finished a bag of another type of finch food. I suppose I'll get to observe if the feeder or the feed attracts the birds to this object. I used the remainder of my previous bag of feed, which filled the hopper to about 1/4 to 1/3, and then filled it up the rest of the way with the other type of feed. Since my new bag of feed won't arrive for another 2.5 days, I estimate I'll have about 2 days to test it out. Once that test is completed, I'll probably update this review once more. Perhaps since I live in a tiny farming town and most of the others undoubtedly reside in cities, I seem to see more finches than other people mention or share images or videos of. I'm thinking of acquiring a camera so I can upload images of the feeders in operation, but since I can't afford a high-end camera, the photos I take won't be of exceptionally good quality.Final Edit: Despite using my second sort of finch feed, which isn't 100% nyjer like the first one, I still attracted a ton of finches, so I'm pretty sure it's the feeder and not the food that draws the birds. However, I believe that is because I recently had a snowfall pass by because this time, I actually got MORE finches. The finches emptied the hopper and about 2/3 of each sock feeder after the snowstorm, leaving both socks at about 1/3 full. My second, less well-liked feeder also saw a lot more action today.According to my observations while feeding finches, they seem to prefer feeders that are located relatively close to trees. The amount of finches at my feeders rose when I positioned my feeder pole nearer to a tree. They also enjoy traveling in large groups, so if you want finches, you must have a variety of perches and feeding stations. If you only have a small finch feeder, finches will ignore your home and move on to another location. They appear to favor nyjer or a combination of nyjer and sunflower hearts as far as food is concerned. Yellow also appears to be a favorite of theirs. I'm merely providing these tips for individuals who want to start finch feeding because it took me at least six months before I began attracting huge numbers of finches because I used practically all of those suggestions incorrectly:p Additionally, I've read that they enjoy mature coneflowers. This year, I'm thinking about planting some coneflowers at my home. Before they go to seed, coneflowers reportedly also entice hummingbirds (and pollinating bees).

Perky-Pet 325S Panorama Bird Feeder Review:

Although it's a lovely feeder that's simple to fill and appears to be well-built, many of the birds in our region just don't seem to enjoy it for whatever reason.Even after I've tried a few different combinations, smaller birds still appear to become frustrated with the perches since they are too small for larger birds like Cardinals. Possibly more effective in some areas. There are many hungry birds visiting because of the recent snow and ice, but this feeder is still essentially filled. Can't quite make sense of it. I haven't given up on it yet, but the local birds just don't seem to like it.EDIT 03/12/2018Having used this feeder for a few months, I felt the need to give an update. After a few weeks, birds did begin to adapt to it, so it is no longer a problem. The fact that I had two occasions in which rain or other moisture found its way into the central filling tube that leads to the bottom is the only reason I did not raise my rating to five stars. Gummed it all up and began to mold, forcing me to disassemble the entire thing, remove the wet seed, and give it a thorough hand cleaning. It is important to note that, in contrast to what some other commenters have said, once you see how this feeder is put together, you can really totally disassemble and reassemble it pretty effortlessly (get tabs in right slots, turn the correct direction to lock the pieces back together). This is actually good because I used to have a much more costly Finch feeder that I eventually had to just throw it in the trash after it became dirty and gummed up. I am hoping that this feeder will survive a lot longer with the periodic cleaning.

JW Pet Company Clean Water Silo Waterer Bird Accessory Review:

This water silo, when used properly, may be the best item you've ever placed in your baby's cage. I read through all 127 reviews for this item before buying two for my two cockatiels, Sting and Rogue, and I giggled at the issues that some people were reporting.I also recommend finding that review, as it is the reason why I chose to try this product out. It is a fantastic review that is at the top of the most helpful reviews with photos outlining troubles you may be having and what you are doing wrong.1st off. Only VERTICAL bars should be used with this silo. The trough CANNOT be removed along with the silo, which is why folks who remove only the silo are receiving water all over their homes despite the fact that you CAN jerry-rig it to operate with horizontal bars. When removed from the trough, the plastic stop valve was intended to fill the trough with water rather than immediately cease water flow. The trough can be removed along with the silo if you mount it on vertical bars (my cage has 3/4-inch spacing and is almost the widest this product will accommodate before you screw it down), making it simple to empty the old water into your sink by flipping the silo, removing the upside-down trough, and flipping it back over. Although it is more simpler than the step-by-step suggests, I felt compelled to follow the figures because some people still don't seem to understand the product.Second, filling this item couldn't be simpler. Hold the silo upside down after removing the trough so that the stop valve is hanging and there is an opening for water to flow through. Personally, I offer my birds cool, fresh water from my filtered refrigerator. if the silo is almost full. Remove it from the refrigerator, flip it over, and then reattach the trough. These other users are attempting to flip it into the trough and spilling water all over since they are skipping a straightforward but crucial step that would make the entire procedure cleaner.third, and probably most crucial. Give the birds some time to understand this. My birds had just learned how to use water and food dishes when I got them, around a week after their parents quit feeding them. On the fourth day, I finally saw the bird drinking from the trough after it took them almost two days to figure out where their Seed Corral (another fantastic product) was. To prevent droppings during this time, I placed a tiny bowl of seeds and a bowl of water at the bottom of their cage, away from where they would normally perch. When they became hungry, they began to look for food. Cockatiel instinct pushed them to scavenge on the cage floor, but after a few days of settling in, they discovered access to all of their other resources. As you see the helpers discovering their various supplies of food and drink, simply take away the nourishment. In conclusion, I hope that a few of these suggestions were helpful to customers who desired to hurl this product against a wall. Although it is made of plastic and isn't the most durable item ever, JW is generally quite good about living up to their advertising. I hope this was helpful to some of you. Happy birding!

Birds LOVE Bird Feeder Seed Catcher Tray Hanging Cup Food Dish for Cage for Small Birds Lovebirds Cockatiels Canaries Sun Conures Review:

where to begin This feeder has a lot to offer. I have a parakeet that is not very common. They don't necessarily have the same reputation as docile parakeets or budgies with this breed. Despite the fact that he is generally placid (I can stroke him without issue), I wasn't sure how he would react to a feeder that he must enter. Second, I don't want to break up or modify the cage I have him in so that I may add a feeder because it is a rather costly cage. Since the doors are "arched," an outside feeder truly can't use them. I also required a feeder that could be mounted within the cage. He didn't enter straight away after I inserted it last night. I wanted to be sure he was aware of the location of the food. I also put food in the front chamber, which is normally where the husks/hull would go, to entice him in and get him used to it. In the back compartment was his "favorite" food (where it belongs). He was eating his favorite food in the back (appropriate) compartment when I just walked in. Yeah! He doesn't spread seed badly, but the main food I feed him (along with vegetables) costs $6.50 per pound, and I became sick of putting away so much uneaten seed. This should definitely solve the problem. I'll just say that I'm quite satisfied with my purchase (see photo).
