Verbatim DVD+RW 4.7GB 4X with Branded Surface - 30pk Spindle Review:

was on time and in excellent condition (ie. package undamaged). I intended to retain the item for backup "clean spotless discs," but the anticipation got the better of me because I kept wondering if it worked every time I looked at it. As soon as I opened the package and examined the disc surface, I was horrified to see that several of them had tiny scratches on the outer edges (most have a little of this, but few have a lot: 1/2 inch track), as if the machine that manufactured them somehow scratched them as it took them out of it. They resembled several damaged discs I've already seen. After all the praise I have heard for Verbatim CDs, this is absurd, and I have no idea how it got through quality control. Anyway, to my surprise, after searching for test markers of good discs, both of the discs (tested 2), one with the most scratches (on top) and the other with little scratches (nearer to bottom of discs), seemed to test OK. The most important thing was that every sector had passed inspection, and a full disk's data burn took between 15 and 16 minutes, even though good disks should only take between 14 and 16 minutes to write. The fact that they passed and performed as well as could be expected startled me to say the least (actually wrote at only 3.8x speed which is .2 lower than it should be). I'm still toeing the line between giving this a 2 or even a 1 star rating, but that depends on how quickly these "so-called scratches" degrade in the future. Hopefully not. I believe they will be fine because the most of these sustain numerous scratches over time and still work, but only time will tell. This bargain might not be for you if you're a "DVD stickler" who demands that everything be flawless and go your particular way. This was strange and upsetting because I've purchased many of these discs and never, ever had a scratch appear on any of them when they were brand new and out of the box. I'm assuming that since we've already gone through this routine a gazillion times, regardless of the buyer or their financial situation, "we have had enough of this one," that CDs and DVDs are in the process of becoming obsolete and manufacturers are purposely making them shoddily in an effort to "usher in new technology

Verbatim DVD+RW 4.7GB 4X with Branded Surface - 10pk Jewel Case - 94839 Review:

The finest disks on earth! I only received one defective disk out of more than a thousand! I can't say enough good things about this brand in comparison to many popular brands, which typically have one or two defective disks out of every ten! I work in both music and cinema, yet I never even consider switching brands!Without any reservations, I give Verbatim permission to utilize my words of praise! Additionally, the delivery was on schedule. I adore this company and would be devastated to see them go. If a CD you worked ten hours on failed, you would also be devastated!

AmazonBasics 4.7GB 4X DVD+RW - 30-Pack Review:

I'm satisfied with the product, but you should reduce the price. For a non-name brand product likely created in China where you can't be sure you won't get a faulty disc, the price fluctuating everyday from $9.99 to nearly is kind of absurd. I'm hoping you reduce the price during the holidays so I can perhaps purchase more.

Additionally, after upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium, the CDs are useful for creating and re-creating system restore DVDs. Making backups is simple. Memorex Products - DVD+RW, w/ Jewel Case, 4.7GB 5/PK Review:

Despite the fact that I purchase a lot of items, I rarely write evaluations for them. but had to use this product to do so. Let me inform you that this is the DVD RW you need. I recently purchased a new computer and wanted to move some files from the old one to the new one. I however refrained from transferring everything. I opted to test things out before I bought the transfer cord. You wouldn't believe the information I was able to include on these discs, though. To be completely honest, I only needed to utilize one disc. I must have repeatedly copied and erased nearly 20 times. I downloaded free software, downloaded videos, downloaded images, and moved documents with a lot of information on them. the applications that download to your documents or downloads file. However, in order to transfer files from programs like Word and Excel, etc., you must first have Microsoft Office installed on your computer. Even after all of the transfers I made, I was still able to utilize the same disc. On these discs, you can store a lot of information. The transfer cable is still in its original, unopened packaging because I used the disc to transfer everything I needed. I received the code to use for it as well, but I don't need it right now. So be it. I used the discs to achieve my goals.

Memorex 4x DVD+RW 25 Pack Spindle Review:

I first bought this 25 pack on October 3, 2009, and every disc has worked flawlessly on all of my PCs since then. I've dubbed and rerecorded what I THOUGHT was numerous times using everything from a computer to a Magnavox or a Phillips DVR. Even though they only rotate 2 to 4 discs per day, on some days they only rotate one, they are constantly being erased and rerecorded. This is where I started to run into math problems because the product description states "up to a thousand" and if I simply multiply the 4 years by the number of days I get 1460, which would be fantastic because it would mean I was getting well over 1000 rerecords. However, since not every disc was used every day and only one was typically rerecorded and then put back into rotation, you must, in the "worst case," divide the number of days by the number of discs in rotation, which translates to about 58 recordings before a disc fails. Even so, keeping this in mind, the cost of not missing your favorite show that clashes with a time slot, another show, work, etc. is still only a few cents at most. Therefore, I guess I'll buy them again. They are greatly misrepresenting the number of rerecordings, but because this type of material is vanishing and costs only pennies per program as opposed to a dollar or more for buying something on demand. Grrr, but don't go overboard! Giving Memorex the benefit of the doubt on their thousands of rerecordings, perhaps the recording medium is only capable of lasting for a maximum of four years.

50 Pack Smartbuy Blank DVD+RW 4X 4.7GB 120Min Logo Rewritable DVD Media Disc Review:

In the past, Memorex products have caused me to feel quite unsatisfied because up to half of the blank dvds were unusable because of flaws and mistakes on the discs. It is a really high-quality product, and none of the 50 blank discs have turned out to be flawed. I'm glad.

Sony 25DPW47SP DVD+RW 4X 4.7GB Spindle Rewritable DVD, 25-Pack Review:

When using the - or format, or Verbatim RW with dual layer CDs, Verbatim used to be the best. However, Verbatim recently outsourced production of its Taiwan-quality product to India, Singapore, and China, undermining those safeguards for the first time in favor of a less reliable, less expensive product. As a result, I am aware that Sony strives for quality control and offers items of good overall quality. Rich AZO dyes are essential when using stand-alone DVD recorders since they operate better at slower speeds (X2 X4 X 8). Purchasing store-bought 16X discs for standalone DVD recorders is the worst thing anyone can do. Now, I'm certain that only PCs with DVD recording capabilities can keep up with the faster speed discs. When trying to record live TV broadcasts and events, stand-alone DVD recorders do far better with fewer spins. The nation of origin for these CDs is not specified on the Sony package. However, after being put to the test, they did well and had the same abundant AZO dyes required for recording and archiving. These get high marks, and the price is reasonable.

Maxell 634045 4.7Gb Dvd+Rw Disc Slim Jewel Review:

For five rewriteable DVDs, the pricing was pretty reasonable. However, I was dissatisfied with how inexpensive the DVD covers were. Even before the package was even opened, one of the plastic hinges snapped apart. Although I didn't anticipate them to last, this is kind of ridiculous. In contrast to these cases, I used some extra cases I had sitting around from some Dual Layer Verbatim DVDs I purchased. The DVDs are excellent and I have burned a variety of files on them before quickly wiping them clean. For the first few minutes of using them, it was enjoyable to experiment with them.Maxell is a wonderful alternative if you want high-quality DVDs in affordable cases.Choose Verbatim if you want both high-quality DVDs and casings.

50DMR47SB DVD-R 4.7GB 50pk Shrink Wrap Review:

I've generally liked Sony blanks to Verbatim blanks. The one set of the latter's DVDs I purchased wasn't very stable, and my collection had numerous smudges and some DVDs that wouldn't play. Years ago, I was able to get a Sony television set, and they were quite reliable—I've never had one skip or refuse to operate. They are subtly reliable. Thanks to a gift card, this bundle was a wonderful deal. You will receive a very well-packaged set and considerably faster shipment if Smartbuy sells it.The only drawback was the lack of a true spindle; for some strange reason, they are instead separated by discs, which looks rather odd and just seems cheap, lol. You may credit Sony for that; it wasn't the seller's responsibility. Fortunately, the two I've tried so far are effective, so I'm not deducting any points.
