I have put together a fresh build system using an Asus motherboard and a Ryzen 5 2600x processor. I bought this wifi antenna for its simplicity rather than installing a wifi card inside. I never used a wifi antenna on any of the other computers I owned because they were all prebuilt with windows and wifi already installed. After examining a number of these products on Amazon, I decided to go with this one due to the positive ratings, the detachable antenna component, and the fact that it wasn't an antenna that needed a wire and had to be installed somewhere near the computer like rabbit ears. To test the strength of this adapter, I used it briefly without the antenna screwed onto it. Although I'm only a few steps away from the home router, it actually functioned quite great without the antenna. Just to boost the signal, I reattached the antenna. The fact that this was plug-and-play is its best feature. Before I even had Windows 10 fully loaded, I hooked it into a USB port so that Windows could check for updates. Because there were no drivers installed on my new build before Windows 10 was fully installed, I wasn't sure I would be able to do that. However, even before Windows 10 was entirely installed, the Windows installer noticed that a wifi antenna was placed into a USB port, and as soon as I connected to our house WiFi, everything was working as it should. When I'm hooked straight into the router or modem, I often get 250 mbps. My old Dell computer, which had Windows 7 and an i7 CPU that was five years old, received roughly 25 mbps through wifi. Depending on how much traffic is using the wifi at any one time, my new construction with this antenna is getting well over 100 mbps, give or take a little. It's been amazing so far and incredibly easy to set up and use. I just plugged it in, and a few seconds later I made the decision to join to my home network.

The EDUP AC 600 converter I recently bought has finally made it possible for me to almost do that.I have a Linksys EA7500 router that can operate at 1300 AC speeds and a Linksys RA6500 extender that can operate at 867 AC speeds, thus the EDUP AC 600 adapter's advertised speeds are undoubtedly feasible on my network. While I haven't yet reached the adapter's claimed 600 Mbps, I have more than twice the speeds from the Rosewill N adapter's 144 Mbps up to the EDUP AC adapter's estimated 325 Mbps.The EDUP adapter has been continuously in use since I bought it a couple of weeks ago, with no lost connections or downtime. In a nearly 3,000 SQFT house where the adapter is located one level down and around 20 feet from the router and on the same floor but about 30 feet from the extender, I believe that's quite amazing.The instructions are badly written and translated, the driver disk is out-of-date, and the setup requirements earn it only four stars. It is advised, if you are using Windows 10 or 7, to let Windows find and install the drivers and to utilize the Windows WLAN administration utility rather than the cumbersome Realtek disk utility. I successfully tested the EDUP on a Windows 10 desktop and a Windows 7 HTPC.I'm content enough to purchase a second one to use with a laptop in my son's room, but I'm not overjoyed enough to give it a perfect rating or spend more than $25 on it.
