The only two that are small are the pumpkins, so you do not have to set them all the way down to the ground. They are made of durable plastic because they need to repel water when it rains. #3 Before inserting the stakes into the decorations, place them in the ground to get a better idea of how high or how low you want them to be. Let me start by mentioning that because we live on a beach in New England, the wind and weather aren't exactly conducive to using lightweight outdoor décor. However, I have yet to come across this kind of décor that isn't made of foam. Having said that, the stakes that hold them down are above average compared to some of the other decorations I've purchased in the past, and you get a lot of them for the price. I would advise if you live somewhere where there isn't a lot of wind. If not, be ready to retrieve them if it becomes windy along the shoreline from your neighbors' driveways or the street. My kids will be pleased if they survive this Halloween.

These tombstones were purchased to spruce up the front lawn. These headstones are particularly light because they are constructed of styrofoam. Okay, they are great. I purchased them to affix to my door for Halloween because I live in a high-rise apartment complex and wanted to have these. When I opened the box and discovered they were cardboard signs with metal steaks to bury in the sign and your yard, how was I startled! Up until I picked them up, I was expecting to be frustrated and thought I would return it. They have a robust finish that keeps them smooth and prevents cracking or chipping despite their lightweight design. The print design is flawless and well-done. Because of their lightweight design, I was able to attach them to my door with just a piece of scotch tape, have them stay there all day long without dropping, and when I removed them, the tape didn't peel off any of the signs' paint or gloss. Really improved the appearance of my door! Therefore, these are fantastic whether you have a lawn or a hallway. If you do decide to use them outside, keep in mind that they are cardboard and lightweight, as wind and rain may be a factor.
