No, backyard ponds do not attract mosquitoes. In fact, they may even help to reduce the mosquito population in your yard. Mosquitoes are attracted to standing water, so by having a pond in your backyard, you are actually providing them with a place to breed.
Garden ponds are a great addition to any backyard, providing a place for wildlife to congregate and a serene spot for you to relax. While they can be as simple or as elaborate as you like, all garden ponds need one key element – a pump. Pumps ensure that your pond has the necessary circulation to keep the water healthy and free of stagnant pockets. They also help to aerate the water, which is vital for the health of your fish and other aquatic creatures. If you’re unsure what size or type of pump is best for your pond
A container pond does not need a pump if the container is big enough and deep enough. The pump is only necessary if the container is small or shallow.
A container water garden does not need a pump if the container is small and the water is changed regularly. The pump is only necessary if the container is large and the water needs to be circulated.

These filters perform marvellously. They have been in use for almost ten years, and not once has any debris gotten past the filter and interfered with the pump's operation. To replace the ones that the raccoons steal, we should not have to buy them so frequently, is all I can say. To secure the filter to the pump intake in a way that the raccoons are annoyed, we have to smash a roofing nail through it. (They occasionally still shred the filter without taking it off.) I would be thrilled if the manufacturer created a clip to hold the filter onto the pump intake or made the filters out of a substance less alluring to garden pests.

We recently landscaped the back of our house because the area was difficult for the lawnmower to access. As a result, we dug everything up and laid down some gravel. As we were doing so, we discovered a large family of toads that had been living in the grass and close to the rain barrel there. I felt terrible for disturbing their home, so I looked into ways to keep the area toad-friendly and decided a small pond would be appropriate. I placed some flat rocks to the bottom so the toads would have something to stand on while in the water. This tiny guy fits wonderfully in our small spot and was simple to dig out and install. People adore it! My main issue, which is actually just due to our position, is that because the water evaporates so quickly in the summer, I have to fill the pond on average every day. That's living in Texas and facing the sun for you.

My 165 gallon pond has a Danner Filter and Falls, which I purchased. It has a more appealing appearance than other filter boxes because it is lower and only has a waterfall spout over the pond. The fittings work without any issues. Looks good as a visually appealing solution to filter the water and add it to the larger pond. I purchased the plain box and customized it by cutting a piece of filter material (in an upside-down V, as stated in their product information for versions that come with filter media) to fit. The flow from my 500 gph pump is adequate—enough to create a lovely stream without blasting everything. The Fishmate UV filter box I used as my prior solution had low outputs, requiring the entire unit to be raised above the pond, and it was unsightly in the landscaping. I won't know for sure if I need UV filtration. If I do, I'll add a different unit. very content. Good answer

I had no idea my fountain could be so lovely. Previously, I had the fountain turned off and empty because it was unsightly. Everything was altered with the tiny Nozzle kit. A solar light was also put in front of the fountain by myself. Good location in my yard! And the pricing is reasonable.

resolved all of my problems with the waterfall. had previously lost a significant amount of water due to splashing and very high water pressure feeding the falls. Either install this item or spend many hundred dollars on a variable speed pump. Simple installation procedures and excellent performance. The back end connection doesn't really have much information online, but I thought I'd share what it does have so you can be prepared for it when it does. You have two choices:PVC 2 inches wide. They supply the adapter, so you'll probably need to use a bushing or adaptor to increase the size of your PVC to fit the two ". Unless you are running 2, of course "in your pond, PVC. I think this is a harder option because it could be challenging to line up the PVC with your spillway.Vinyl Tubing 2. Another adapter that takes flexible hosing is included with the product when it delivers. I saw that 1.5 "With a clamp, the vinyl I had worked flawlessly and had no leaks. You probably could use 2 "But good luck locating vinyl.

A water garden can be as shallow as 6 inches or as deep as 4 feet. The depth of your water garden will depend on the plants you choose. Some plants need to be planted in shallow water while others need to be planted in deep water. The depth of your water garden will also depend on the fish you choose. Some fish need to be in deep water while others need to be in shallow water.
To keep your container water garden clean, you will need to change the water and clean the container regularly. You can clean the container with a mild soap and water solution. Be sure to rinse the container well before adding new water. You will also need to remove any debris, such as leaves, from the water.
A water garden can be a beautiful addition to any home, but it’s important to keep it clean to prevent problems like algae growth. Here are a few tips to keep your water garden clean: -Remove debris from the water regularly with a net. -Prune plants regularly to prevent them from getting too big and taking over the pond. -Use a pond vacuum to clean the bottom of the pond. -Add beneficial bacteria to the pond to help break down organic matter. -Replace the water regularly, about every two weeks
If you have stagnant water on your property, there are a few things you can do to keep it clean. First, you should try to remove any debris that may be floating in the water. This can be done with a net or by hand. Next, you should treat the water with a chlorine solution. This will kill any bacteria that may be present. Finally, you should aerate the water to help keep it oxygenated.
You can make a homemade water garden by following these steps: 1. Find a large container that can hold at least 10 gallons of water. A plastic storage bin or half-barrel planter works well. 2. Drill several small holes in the bottom of the container for drainage. 3. Place the container in a sunny spot. 4. Fill the container with water and add a water plant or two. 5. Place a piece of slate or a large rock in the water to help anchor the plants. 6. Enjoy your
