The CF lights were not supported by previous devices that are directly adjacent to the lighting hot side. I love that my entire outdoor lighting needs are now totally automated.One issue to keep in mind is that the device programming and the programming instructions are out of sync. The "load off" setting will utilize the same "days" as the "load on" setting, according to the instructions. This is untrue; you must choose the days for both the load on and off settings when programming. It's likely that different iterations of these gadgets respond to the instructions in different ways. Internal programming exists, and it is common for Engineering to make changes that the documentation team somehow missed.

I don't typically write reviews, but this stuff required one. Many of you may not be aware of the price of this small device a few years ago or how difficult it was for non-electronic men to construct their own repeat cycle timer. In general, the more accurate (hours vs. minutes vs. seconds) you desired, the more expensive it was, and they had very particular limits. It's been a while, but I believe the last repeat cycle timer I used was 109. STOP BUYING if you want a hydro pump. This is it, and in addition to the repetitive cycle, it does a wide range of tasks quickly. So, if you chose, you could cycle that pump a million times every day till it burned out quickly. I also have one on led lights and one on an ebb and flow. Only 2 minutes were spent setting everything up since I wanted to play with it. It has continued to go on and on ever since. So far, a great display, a quality build, and little heat from a machine close to 800 watts. I'm actually in love with a timer.I'm going to buy more, and I advise you to try it.

I wanted to transfer one of my three-way switches over to a timer so that my outdoor lights could turn on at specific times. The packaging looks beautiful and the directions are clear.This new technology has two minor aesthetic problems. The "Reset" button, for starters, appeared to be uneven and out of alignment. Button still functions, so I wasn't too badly hurt. Second, it appears as though a corner was clipped out of the bottom left corner of the screen. Again, not a big deal because you only need the proper light and the correct perspective to notice it.Because it was a three-way and the wiring I saw didn't match the drawing very well, installation required some time. We checked a few things with an electrician, set it up, and were ready to go. Both the automated setting and the manual setting appear to function properly. I checked that with my camera setup.One final point for anyone looking at this gadget. The other switch on the three-way becomes essentially worthless after installation. It must remain on in order for the timer to activate the lights. I looked around, but I couldn't find anything that seemed to offer a practical way to get both switches to cooperate with the timer. I don't think it's a huge deal because I got this timer for that reason. I might even think about purchasing a wireless timer switch that I can operate from my phone.

Normally, I wait at least a few months after using an item before writing a review, but Century's exceptional customer service merits a quick mention.I currently have 4 of these timers, 3 of which are operational. The way they are packaged indicates that the first order was for 2. One tried to advance the time right away but failed. The timer did not function, but the pass-through switch did. Instead of returning them, I first emailed the seller to explain the problem. They replied in less than 5 minutes, apologizing and promising to send a replacement item the following day with a tracking number, which they actually did. 3 days later, it arrived from California to the east coast. (My email, by the way, was sent at 9 PM.)The substitutes are effective.Century sent two additional emails as a result. Inquiring about satisfaction three days following delivery and once the day of shipment, indicating that both new timers had been tested. It should be emphasized that this level of seller attentiveness is exceptional.3 prong, non-polarized, grounded; specifications 3 1/4 inches length, 2 1/4 inches broad, and 1 1/4 inches deep. Diameter 1 5/8 inches, 3.3 oz. Electrical tolerance: tested at 15A at 125V and 1875 watts. (Tungsten is less; not tested; 8 amps) 30 minutes is the bare minimum. The gadget hooked into the timer can be manually turned on using a pass-through switch on the side. A black dial indicates nighttime, whereas a white dial indicates daytime. (The product title does not specifically state that it is a "mini-timer," but the features section and the product carton do.)When placed into the top outlet, the plug at the bottom of the timer does not block the lower outlet. To use the timer, depress the buttons surrounding the dial for the required ON duration. The circuit through the timer is closed if buttons are up. This was purchased to replace a digital one that was just a few years old. Have you ever been relieved when a product failed? The computerised one required a lot of effort to set. Ant Man would struggle to read the instruction sheet's fine print, so he would constantly have to refer to it. The display quit working after a few years. Yay! So we bought this one and went back to the fundamentals. Really user-friendly, and the two outlets are very useful. Although we are using it indoors, it is comforting to know that we could use this one in a pinch if we needed one outside.

The capability to turn lights on and off based on local sunrise/sunset is what prompted me to get this. This does work, but I docked it one point because of the unclear directions. It does not automatically switch the light on and off without one more step, and the instructions weren't particularly clear about the additional step required, even after you set up the clock, pick Pro mode, and enter your latitude and longitude as directed. When I accidentally discovered the solution, I was in a complete state of frustration, believing that the thing had failed.You must then navigate to the program part of the menu and create an event after configuring the clock, choosing pro mode, and setting latitude and longitude. Sunset and/or sunrise will be available as time options when putting up the event. The event started working as stated once I chose sunset as the start time and sunrise as the end time.

Simple to set up, especially if you've used a gadget like this before. If not, follow these easy instructions to set it:1) Move ALL of the dial's pins to the up position. (The timer is sent with every pin in place.)2) After noting the black half for the evening and the white half for the morning, turn the dial till the arrow points to the current time. (You won't get it down to the exact minute because it's not digital. No huge deal.3) Next, depress the pins to designate the times you want the power to be turned on.4) When everything is ready, plug in your device and the timer into an outlet. (Verify that the side switch is not set to "always on" to make sure.)To test it, simply plug it into a light source, depress ONE pin that is close to the current time, and then wait. When the dial hits that particular pin, your light ought to turn on while you watch the clock revolve. The light ought to turn off when it passes that pin. You now know that it is effective. (Remember to raise the test pin after you're done.)Both of mine function flawlessly. They are VERY quiet, in contrast to other timers I've used that constantly grinded and grate on my nerves. Overall, if you need a pair of solid, affordable, no-frills timers, this is an excellent purchase. When I'm out of the house at night, I use them to turn the lights on and off in various rooms. The BEST timers are these GE timers. Yes, an extension cord can be used to reach the timer outlet. It operates when the extension cord is plugged into the timer and the outlet is plugged into the wall. I have two; one turns on the lamps next to my sofa on either side, and the other turns on a pedestal lamp that is connected to an extension line to reach the timer mounted on the wall across from it. After you set it up, there is a countdown on the bottom right that allows you to see how long it will take to complete the SET-UP process. It is quite easy to set up this timer. With the up/down buttons, set the time to the real time of day, then plug in the lamp. Press 5 p.m. to midnight, custom on time, custom off time, or just press. Watch the blue light activate. Check it out using the countdown in the lower right. Ensure the blue light is on. That indicates that it is actually set. DONE.

These timers are vastly superior to others, which all favor complex functionality (several on/off times) over programming simplicity. These timers are far superior to others in terms of programming ease. Though I've only had them for a short while, they seem to function perfectly.The only issue I have is that there is no way to manually override the on/off state without also turning off the timer. The "always on" slide switch that is included is ineffective. Making the On and Off buttons also turn the outlet on or off would be quite simple given that they already display the matching time settings and allow for time adjustment.
