Dec 2018 update.... I am 5’2”, 110 lbs, 73 years old... I am using this ladder more and more-it took a while for my petite hands to learn techniques to be able to grasp the ladder properly to lower/raise it! It has been a huge help to me. So glad I got it, have it!

I am a consumer that puts a lot of emphasis on quality of customer service when purchasing! Even high quality serviceable items purchases will require reachable dealer. Thus my purchase from WolfWise - company surpassed expectations. The ladder I ordered worked great but then a rung tab (right) got locked up and prevented retraction. I am 72, 110 lbs, with small and weak strength hands that works on solo projects. I needed a ladder to size down into a transportable rv ladder. My small hands and weakness limit ability but ladder and I were doing well until the locked up rung became a problem. I contacted WolfWise for help and they sure came through. They asked for a picture and they gave tips on how to unlock the locked rungs. When locked rungs did not release Wolfwise are sending a replacement without requiring return. WOW... on a scale where 5 is best, they are a 10.
Notations on ladder: ladder works easier with good sized hands and thumb strength-I am deficient in both. I did figure out how to release locked rungs - right after the replacement ladder was sent (i did not convive to get a free extra ladder) ! I wacked the right tab with heavy tool and it released. Do not hesitate to order from Wolfwise. Since I don't know if lock issue was me or the ladder - I think it's great to have a chance to test out another one - In any case ladder gets 4 , Wolfwise gets 10 -thus 5 stars deserve

Short review: Finally a ladder I like, which is compact, easy to use, and feels SAFE. Great buy.
Longer review: Once I moved into my first house, I saw the immediate need for a ladder. I wanted to get to windows on the second floor to clean and fix them, I needed to replace high ceiling lights, and generally do work around the house. My old ladder felt unsafe and crooked and was so heavy I could hardly move it from place to place. This extendable ladder wins high praise for all these pros:
- It's relatively light, though still sturdy and stable
- It's simple to move around, extend, and collapse
- The safety spacers are made of rubber, and truly save your fingers when you are collapsing it, unlike my last ladder that pinched my fingers every time!
- It's made of a strong material and the locks are high quality
- It stores away easily in my garage cabinet

For a lean-to ladder, this one is particularly convenient. I am a small woman who had no problem lugging this ladder up and down stairs to access vaulted ceilinged rooms for painting purposes. Of course, I had someone stand at the foot of the ladder to act as spotter, and ensured it was rested on studs, as I'm aware this isn't this type of ladder's recommended use; however, it's a lot more height for the price than an A-frame! This extends easily and - to my happy surprise - also collapses smoothly. I was afraid it would be more like a tape measurer: once you push the button to retract, you'd better get all fingers out of the way! Fortunately, it has some sort of hydraulic system to where pressing the collapse buttons causes it to fold in slowly, one rung at a time, without any jolt. I recommend this ladder for light use with someone else to act as spotter.

First, I will note, I purchased this, but returned it today, but ONLY because it was bigger than I anticipated. I opted to order the 10.5 Xtend & Climb, also here on Amazon, so I stuck with the same maker. I have a RV trailer and will use this during our outings.
It's packed well and the directions are clear. This 12.5' is weighty at 32 lbs, but a good aspect to it is that it will hold up to 300 lbs. I always error on the side of caution. Better to have the added weight capacity if you're weight is closer to the 225 lb capacity of the smaller Type II Xtend & Climbs. Also, keep in mind, if you plan to carry any weight up it.
My friend and I extended it to the full 12.5', fairly easy enough. I found the best way to do this is start with the top rung of course. What I like about this ladder compared to other telescoping ladders is that this ladder; LOCKS AT EACH INDIVIDUAL RUNG. Thus, you have a safety feature that locks the ladder every 12". Extending was easy, and as the green locking levers slid into the locking position, I could hear a distinct "click" as each section locked. If you go the full 12.5', lowering it can be some work, but because the way the retraction works, the fear of smashing your hand goes away.
I'm going to get this out of order, but you'll get the gist. When lowering, you start from the bottom. As you unlock the slides on a rung, at times, the rung will full retract, but others, it will only 1/2 retract. This is NOT a defect. It's a safety feature. The next rung that half retracts, won't fully retract, until you retract the rung above it. This is genius as you don't pinch your hand or finger when lowering.
This fit in the back seating area of my truck easily and in the bed. There is velcro strap that encompasses the entire rungs when closed, and has a nice soft padded handle under the last rung, right where you would pick it up to carry it.
All in all, I'm impressed. My 10.5" arrived today, and I will trial it and leave a review. I recommend this ladder.

This ladder has two steps about a foot apart, and the frame extends another half-foot higher. The frame is one tall bend of tubing, with a smaller bend that folds out, and the main hinge seems durable. Each step is a single piece. The supports for the steps are thin, but seem strong enough. I climbed up and it felt like my weight was not a strain on it. The only weak point is the flimsy safety latch. It is just a small flat curve of metal that you swing out when you set up the ladder, and it holds on to the top step’s support at one end. It wouldnt take much to bump it out of place, so dont get rowdy when climbing this ladder.

I got this for my son in law that does home inspections. He said he used to work with a similar ladder so he can get to the roof or openings of the house that lead to the attic. The only issue he noticed is that with time the other ladder was getting harder to close and open it.
So far this ladder is awesome. Very efficient, meaning it fits where it suppose to and it makes his job easier. It opens and closes really easy and it is as stable as it can get. My son in law LOVES IT. The only thing that he suggest people should know, is that when you close it you better keep your fingers protected, because it can literally cut your finger. But we count that as an adult you can think and pay attention in order to keep your self safe. Other than that we give 5 stars, and we recommend it to everyone.
p.s. In the beginning they sent the wrong ladder, but they took care of it right away, without giving any issue to me. They did it nicely and fast, so instead of loosing credits as sellers, they gain my trust and I give credits to them.

This ladder has met my needs! I'm a full time RVer so storage and extended sizes are very important. Folded takes minimal space yet opens to an 8 ft. "A-frame" ladder or a 16 ft extension ladder. Closing it won't catch or pinch your hands because it stops about 4 inches between the rungs until you release the next rung. The only negative is that it must be fully extended in th A-frame mode because it doesn't lock in the closed position so it will tip and/or sway. I also weigh over 250 lbs so the weight capacity is also a plus.
