Based solely on the specs, I ordered this spring to replace the damaged one on my Delta 17-956. This spring, Delta and other merchants put their prices at $35, but their supply was gone. After five days the spring finally arrived. The spring is secured by a wire around its perimeter and is tightly wound when it is received. Take note of the spring's orientation within the housing before removing the previous spring.I put a thinner wire (radially) around the tightly wound spring and twisted it tightly to hold it since I was worried that it would unravel wildly when the clamp wire was severed. A second wire was wrapped firmly around the spring at 180 degrees (imagine the hours of 3 and 9).I clamped a thin piece of wood across the housing with the outer spring tab in place to stop the spring from escaping. I cut the wire around the spring's outside while wearing safety glasses, then I took the spring out. I cut and removed the two tiny wires that I had previously put.On the drill press, reassemble. When tightening the spring, put on leather gloves or pay the bandage tax. The spring tang is razor-sharp. DAMHIK.This spring works and fits just like the genuine Delta component.

Since I've been using it for a few weeks, I must say that I'm extremely happy with this WEN drill. I'd rate it 4 and a half stars.PROS: There are many positive aspects of this drill press. Here are a few of them.- Price - For the price, this is excellent. Although I don't create cabinets, I occasionally make shelves, kitchen tables, and outdoor benches. This is ideal because I needed something more precise and powerful than a hand drill without spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars.Power: Although I haven't yet drilled any hard, thick metals, everything I've thrown at it has gone without a hitch. I used a 2 to drill through hardwood "Forstner bit with no issues.- Tool noise is a major concern for me when working in my garage, even if it may not be a priority for most people. This drill press is quieter than my very old one, which was rather noisy even when not in use (I assume due to the induction motor)- Accuracy - I appreciate the depth stop since, unlike some other drill presses, you don't need to tighten it down very much to ensure that the drill will stop.Cons: Mostly minor issues that are very changeable.Chuck Key is one of those tools that has a spring tip to prevent leaving it in the chuck. I have 2 other chuck keys in the garage, but neither of them is the appropriate size, so I'll be replacing it as soon as possible. It irritates me every time I use it.- Rack and pinion height-adjustable table is cumbersome; when you spin the lever, the table moves 1 or 2 inches from side to side. Although it's simple to use and moves up and down quickly, the amount of play is terrible. Even though it's not a deal-breaker, it would have been good to have something a little smoother and more precise. The second item I try to replace will be the chuck key.- Laser: I'm one of those people that occasionally finds the laser useful, but it takes some effort to make it accurate. In my opinion, the laser should be at least somewhat accurate out of the box (my was around 1/8 accurate) "over the actual point of contact)

The item you receive will not be the one shown. The handles are considerably more comfortable and robust, yet the specifications are the same. It will be gray with a black base and table. The table has a "T" slot and no cutouts, so vice clamp table clamps with an eye bolt won't work. Instead, you'll need a set of bridge port or milling table clamps with a "T" nut. There isn't a hole in the middle of the table; use the drill press if you need one. Because the table includes a threaded hole in the corner, oil that is used to drill steel will go there and gather there rather than all over the place. It is really nicely crafted and worth the money, as other people have observed.

I bought the Wen drill press in the 8-inch size, and I'm really happy with it thus far. I had seen it in the big-box store before buying it here on Amazon, and I'm pleased I did because it was $27 less expensive on Amazon. That's really fantastic, then!The build is excellent overall. The base of the unit is really sturdy and supports the weight of the head of the unit extremely well despite being quite heavy. The castings are all flawless and free of cracks. For some people, the baseplate might be too small, but for me, it's about right. For the bed, I intend to construct a modest fence, so it will already be extended.My unit's bed does, unfortunately, have some rust on it right out of the box.(pictures) Even though it's a little disappointing, the machine's performance is unaffected. However, it would be wonderful if it didn't rust.I do have a minor gripe, but it primarily stems from the absence of a feature. I'm not a great fan of how the depth guide functions; the two nut setup can be tricky to get properly because of how difficult it is to fit a wrench inside. I found it difficult to adjust the depth because the nuts on my drill press were so tight. It would be simpler to modify if there was another means to select the depth or possibly if the guide was placed little further from the unit's head. After I loosened the nuts, they were a little easier to move, but it is a little difficult to get your fingers in there because of the little space between the nuts and the depth guiding rod of the drill press. But it is possible, if not ideal.I do wish you could lock the drill press into a down position, but that is not possible with this particular model. That is perhaps a little too much to ask for anything in this price bracket. It could be conceivable to put a nut to the depth guide's bottom to serve as a "lock," but other than that, it's not feasible.The dials, nuts, bolts, belts, and springs are all perfectly adjusted and incredibly tight. It's quite quiet and strong, and it seems like it will meet its needs admirably. I'd say it's a purchase that's worthwhile. Particularly for the cost!

I used to be a tool maker. I bought this drill press because the variable speed gearbox on my beloved Delta DP350 broke down and Delta stopped selling replacement parts for it, forcing me to scrap it out. ouch!I therefore thoroughly examined every Drill Press option that was offered.The Wen 4212 offers the finest price and feature combination, however I was concerned because it was built in China. I rang Wen ( who actually answered the Phone which gave me confidence that they support their products ).The Press was sent to me; it was delivered swiftly, put together quickly, and operated flawlessly. I'm happy.Every project I work on uses this press, which I use daily and finds to operate as smoothly as butter. I have previous experience with Bridgeport milling machines and a Big Clausing Industrial drill press.Cons: There is no spindle lock. I'm getting used to this missing component and might even "operate" on the Press to include this crucial component.In fact, it is superior to what I can use. Its chucking is 5/8"; I simply need 1/2". I had planned to replace the keyed chuck with a keyless one, but the one that came with it is superior to any keyed chuck I have ever used. The Lasers are great; I initially assumed they would be "training wheels" because I had never used that feature on a machine, but it has proven to be quite helpful. (I adore it.) Excellent variable speed. I had wonderful success replacing the standard light bulb with an 80 Watt comparable LED bulb.Although this drill press is definitely not an industrial steel workhorse, it is perfect for woodworkers because it has the power to drive my largest Forstner Bit (2 1/4").My WEN 4 X 36 Bench Sander is likewise excellent.I'm thinking about buying more WEN goods! , it appears that they are offering the best "Value for Money"

My third drill press is this one. The competition was average. The chuck on this JET drill press is excellent and can accommodate bits from 1 mm to 16 mm (5/8") "), which caught me off guard. That functionality wasn't explicitly stated in JET's sales pitch. Assembly was a little difficult: I discovered a solution to the head assembly's weight by tilting it upright while laying it on its side, squeezing the column assembly into the motor/head assembly, and tightening the set screw. By removing the enormous (heavy) table from its worm-shaft/table support, I was also able to reduce some of its weight. This necessitated taking out the big nut (24mm — which is loosened when setting the tilt-table angles). You may remove the bulky table by removing this 24 mm nut. Additionally, extracting a portion of the 13mm alignment pin. This 24mm nut was inserted at the factory, most likely with an impact wrench. The wrench that JET provided wasn't very effective. I employed a 1/2 Craftsman "drive a long-handled breaker bar and a 24mm socket. Of course, after the table is upright, reinstall it and carry out the remaining setup instructions. This drill press is good all around.

I'm using this drill stand, which is rather good, as a precision drill press. I fitted an ER11 spindle motor that I purchased from AliExpress on this stand. The stand does not come ready to use, as is typical of many Chinese items. You must use an abrasive, like as sand paper, to smooth out the ways in order to make it prettier. The brass shim was flattened as well. The spring then broke, so I purchased a new one. To make it more simpler to change height, I also replaced the securing bolts with those with a blue handle that are adjustable. I also used aluminum stock to make the motor shim. Other than that, this drill stand works well. It unquestionably outperforms similar products at this pricing. Because I cannot pay the $1800 for a Servo Precision Drill Press, I am constructing this. I need something like this because I drill a lot of tiny holes. Making little holes on tiny objects is much simpler with a small press like this than it is with a large drill press. The maximum bit size for the ER11 collet system is 1/4". I really hope it continues to operate flawlessly.
