How do I choose a surface grinding wheel?

There are many factors to consider when choosing a surface grinding wheel. The most important factor is the material you will be grinding. Different materials require different types of wheels. For example, harder materials like stainless steel or carbide require a different wheel than softer materials like aluminum or brass. Other important factors to consider include the wheel's grit, thickness, and bond type. The grit is the size of the abrasive particles on the wheel. The thicker the wheel, the more material it can remove. The bond type is the way the abrasive particles are held together. Softer

Norton Abrasives - St. Gobain 37C (07660710466) Grinding Wheel Dressing Stick, Medium Grit Silicon Carbide Abrasive for Cleaning, Opening and Reshaping Grinding Wheels, 6" x 1" x 1" Retail Pack Review:

I made the decision to try this dressing stick instead of the ones I had previously. I recently purchased a new 150-grit wheel and noticed a minor unevenness in it. I was correct. The grinding wheel surface was swiftly and easily leveled by the stick. Given that, I could imagine this stick lasting a very long period, adding to its already high worth. According to the instructions, once the wheel is trued up, you can refine it by sliding the stick back and forth quickly for a rougher feel and slowly for a smoother one. I choose to work slowly because I primarily utilize bowl gouges for the lathe and the wheel for my spindle. I can't be angry. The ideal sharpness is frightening.

DEWALT Grinding Wheel, Double Row, Diamond Cup, 4-1/2-Inch (DW4774) Review:

I bought this to prepare a concrete floor before installing Luxury vinyl tile. There were some high places in the concrete, paint that had been oversprayed, thin-set from the tile, and mastic from the old vinyl flooring in the kitchen. I used this diamond grinding wheel to remove everything, and I had to do it all at once. It connected to my hand-held variable speed buffer and operated without a hitch with a steady hand. Sweeping back and forth was the secret. I did gouge my slab when I took off the thin-set, so I had to patch it up and finish the work with self-leveling concrete after filling in the gauges with patching compound. With the speed adjusted way down low, I used the grinder to remove a few high places from the self-leveling concrete. Although I used this grinding wheel quite a bit and it looks to be fairly well made, I can't really tell whether it has worn down at all. I believe that if I sometimes grind some concrete here and there, this product will last me for many years. Warning! Grinding concrete generates a lot of dust. If you don't wear a mask, it gets everywhere and on everything, even your lungs.

KSEIBI 644030 4-1/2-Inch Double Row Diamond Cup Grinding Wheel Gold Review:

There aren't enough stars available to give this item. Outstanding value for the money.I sincerely hope that this does not read like a false review, as so many do.I'm overjoyed with this purchase. You simply cannot top it for the price. Similar tools like these are ridiculously overpriced at the Orange, the Blue, and the Green stores (Home Depot, Lowes, and Menards), as well as everywhere else in between. This is a rip-off and an insult to customers.I've had my say about the rip-off shops. This device is a beast for quickly grinding uneven cement and leaving you with a lovely finish. My front porch had a slab that was uneven, but this tool in my Matabo angle grinder quickly removed it. Between the two slabs, there is a variation of over an inch and over five feet... In less than an hour, I was able to grind down the discrepancy and feather it out. Over five feet, a feather 2.5 feet wide. The tool's continued usability is a benefit. There is still a ton of meat on the cutting boards. To put it mildly, I did not use this tool lightly because I was certain it would fail, but what a champion it turned out to be.Very well-balanced, simple to use, no question.I should have remembered to take images of what I performed with this tool before applying the epoxy finish, but that was my own problem. This tool also includes adapter rings so that it can fit different models of angle grinders.

Sunjoyco 4" Diamond Cup Grinding Wheel, 12-Segment Heavy Duty Turbo Row Concrete Grinding Wheel Disc for Angle Grinder, for Granite, Stone, Marble, Masonry, Concrete Review:

I had to remove some adhesive off the back of several loose floor tiles since they were too old to be replaced. I got this concrete grinding wheel after looking around, and I really didn't want to spend more than $40 on a grinding wheel. I decided to give it a try considering the cost. Very impressive! In fact, this wheel worked so effectively that I had to exercise caution. I was hesitant to buy it since it had a 20mm ID (arbor hole), but then I realized that it has an adapter "ring" that will allow it to be sized down to fit on a 16mm (5/8") arbor. Although attaching the adaptor ring is a little difficult, I managed it in a short amount of time. Therefore, I think this is a perfect substitute for the more costly wheels at the pricing. For small works, I predict it will perform nicely on concrete and masonry. Recommended.

KSEIBI 644052 Super Turbo Diamond Cup wheel 4-1/2 Inch (115 mm) Review:

A painted concrete step landing had to be taken out. I used hand scraping, chemicals, and sanding. I tested a wheel made by a nearby tool manufacturer. The wheel was wobbly enough to gouge concrete. I returned it and bought this wheel instead. It came a day after the order was placed, and the job was finished flawlessly in just two hours. The wheel is still helpful for a variety of tasks. Everyone should use safety equipment because the dust was so bad. A quality respirator and safety goggles are essential. This wheel fit my HF 41/2-inch grinder flawlessly. Did I add that it cost half as much as the first wheel that was returned? Nice.

POWERTEC 15505 White Aluminum Oxide Grinding Wheel, 8-Inch by 1-Inch, 5/8-Inch Arbor, 120 Grit Review:

Yes, this is a wheel for grinding aluminum oxide. Yes, I had to dress this wheel exactly like any other new wheel after receiving it and mounting it on my bench grinder because it would be impossible for any wheel to function flawlessly on any bench grinder without some degree of fine tuning. The fact that this is used more for finishing touches and final sharpening than the gray AU/OX wheels should be taken into account. So utilize wisely and be content.
