It was all sweet and wonderful until my friends next door realized that their pitbull mix puppy has vocal chords. I have sensory processing disorder and am a student/stay-at-home father who spends all of his time at home. If there is an invasive noise, such as a dog barking, I am unable to even think. Our beagle loves to bark a lot! After receiving it, I was able to use it right away. When my dog started barking, I quickly told him NO and pressed the button after setting the device to the "train" preset. He evidently noticed the noise and stopped barking. Although she hasn't ceased barking, it has significantly decreased. This is something I've only been using for a day and a half. It is quite light, making it simple to carry.I've had this for more than a month now, update. She is unaffected by my presence if she is at the rear wall of my backyard, which is very big. The dog next door has been an absolute barking machine for the past two years and five months since we moved into our new home. At the dinner table, my friend's tiny child was kept safe from dogs by using a similar product (Pet Agree). (She would throw food on the floor, and while the dog vacuum/mop was appreciated, every time they ate it turned into a distracting dog frenzy.) I wanted to give it a try because I was so impressed.The problem was that only about two-thirds of his dogs responded to it, but his chihuahua did not hear it at all. Given that I only own a little chihuahua of around the same breed, I looked for an ultrasonic trainer that spanned a wider frequency range. It appears that most chihuahuas lack the ultra-high pitch range that many other canines possess.I tried this because it seemed like the greatest option out of the group, and I can attest that it works on both his and my Chihuahua.You might wish to try this one if your dog entirely ignored other ultrasonic trainers.For a product that accomplishes only one really particular job, there isn't much else to say, however I appreciated that it came with AAA batteries (who has 4 fresh AAA batteries sitting around?) When compared to the competition, it has a sleeker design. The lanyard leash/string is rather fiddly, and I eventually gave up trying to guide it through the device's loop, which was the only minor downside. But I can deal with it. I'd get a couple leashes off of Amazon along with this if you need one to keep the Modus on your person in case you want to get rid of the one that comes with it.

My 60-pound lap dog plays much too much! At the door, she will punch you and lick you until you are drenched. That's terrific for me, but not for when my mother or a stranger comes to visit, which is why we need a trainer. Even without the trainer, she is already responding more appropriately when I say NO at various times. Although I'm sure I'll need to use it again and again, the early returns are really positive.Fair warning: the effect on dogs is similar to blowing an air horn. Although it will kill them with fear, it WON'T injure them. HOWEVER, AVOID OVERUSE. They might tremble and tuck their tail the first time or two, much as you would if someone unexpectedly blew an air horn in your face. This is the time to encourage them to relax while also correcting their behavior. NOT a panic button, this. It serves as a trainer for both you and your pet.

For our 5-and-a-half month old Schnoodle, we purchased a Modus Ultrasonic Bark Control Device. Schnoodles, which are half Schnauzers, are renowned for their seasoned barking. Our puppy is just beginning to find her voice, and she uses it frequently! We purchased the device because we wanted to stop the overbarking before it turned into a habit. The first time we tried it on her was this past weekend while camping. There were numerous other campers and canines there, providing numerous opportunity for practice. This product is amazing. My son and his family were becoming very annoyed with their corgi's constant, LOUD barking for attention. He had food, drink, and a walk, yet he continued to bark. We carried out all required training procedures, including instructing him to be silent and bark only when called upon (removing him from where we were for a few minutes). For a while, nothing could stop him, that is, until Modus appeared. I am really appreciative of this stuff. I work from home and watch this adorable puppy, so when my phone rings, it had to be silent, which occasionally wasn't the case since he would be barking. While I couldn't keep allowing him to act badly, I also didn't want to keep him chained up in a kennel all day. Here's a video of it being used for the second time. The first time was as amazing and effective. He fully exits the room, leaving me to question if this is affecting him in some way, but this article indicates it isn't. The button only needs to be pressed once, and I don't even need to hold it down. I've been doing this for a few days now, and the only change is that before pressing the button, I always say to him, "Quiet or No Barking," and then I give him a treat when he stops. He's a great little person; all he needed was a couple more decency.

We purchased a few of them in an effort to train our dogs to stop barking, and they are effective. I simply click the button as they are barking, and they immediately stop. I didn't test this one on my dog, but it featured a deterrent feature that would flash a light and have a laser to frighten off an attacking dog. I can see how it may be quite successful. The first time I switched it on, it worked. My dog yaps and barks at everything that passes by. She is out there screaming at the fence while kids are walking to or from school because we live behind a school. Back to being crazy if someone is walking the dog behind our house. I'm afraid she'll either get poisoned or suffer worse. She weighs only 7 pounds, so a hawk or an hour will sleep down and take her. The first time I used it, it actually worked.
