New: I ADORE IT. Cat adores it. It is robust. The dry food can stay in the bowl, and I can place a tiny dish over it to hold the wet food for my cat. This is awesome, and I'm very glad I bought it!Original Comments: The assembly instructions were inadequate. We appeared to have an excess of screws of two different types but none of one type. But once we worked out how to put it together on our own, the stand is strong, and we had 8 extra screws. It's for my elderly cat who doesn't eat a lot. The enormous dishes appear to be intended more for dogs than cats. I now see that the dish size was changed from 12 oz to 20 oz. We'll have to wait and see. When they have a modest amount of wet food, I believe that will work because if it is too deep, I can just place my flat cat dishes directly on top of the bowls without anything moving. For dry meals, the deep dishes that came with it will be ideal. I'm happy I purchased it. Later, I'll update.

This thing is SO gorgeous and well-made. And the pricing is unbeatable. This feeder doesn't move around with the force of my puppy's active attention, unlike the one he previously had (which was plastic). He used to splatter food and drink everywhere! I was worried that he could have trouble adjusting to this new, expensive, raised unit because he had been using that plastic "no skid" (haha, yeah) feeder ever since I had gotten him. No issue! He immediately started eating it. He has gained a lot of weight since I first received him, and my buddy is currently 9.5 pounds. My two cats used to enjoy playing with their water bowls and dumping water all over the place. I detested having to continually clean it. My dogs have always received their "courses"—canned food, dry food, and something extra—on separate flat plates. Given his advanced age and senility, my dog has a lot of trouble eating off a dish. He eats while virtually flat on the ground because he is too elderly to support himself on his legs when he stands to do so (even on carpeting). Imagine a giraffe drinking from a pond, but worse because his legs are spread out all the way to the ground. Additionally, due to his senility, he frequently steps into his plate, spilling food all over the carpet and his feet. He now has no issue eating thanks to this elevated bowl. I purchased these raised bowls today (the 7" high set). I've already used these, and my dog Peach is clearly pleased. For comparison, she weighs 50 pounds, and these appear to be suitable heights. Although she doesn't require higher bowls, I think this is healthier for their digestion. Eating on the ground would probably resemble people lying down and eating.We'll see how the stainless steel bowls do with time, although they are a little on the cheap side. In comparison to other stainless dog bowls I've used, cheap means a little thin. Not a complaint; merely a remark. It does have 4 bowls in all, so that is a benefit in and of itself.Plus, the bamboo looks excellent in my den and seems to be high-quality.

I was concerned about the quality because some people claim that the plastic is weak and poor quality, but I have no problems with the one I have against the wall. I got this to protect my dog's neck from any potential pain that a dish on the floor can bring him. Perhaps this purchase wasn't necessary since he appears to be eating more frequently, but he still takes food into his mouth, drops it to the ground, and then eats a piece at a time. He frequently uses his nose to move his food, but the stand hasn't shaken at all. The quality is excellent for the money, in my opinion!

I was pleasantly delighted because I wasn't sure this item would be very durable; it seemed a little delicate. In my hunt for a stand to store our Bernese Mountain dog's food and water, I noticed that many of the pictures given by reviewers of other stands all appeared to have a soiled and unappealing edge or border at the top, sides, or bottom. There is nothing substantial for food or filth to stick to, which is the major reason I chose this position. Its bottom opening was another feature I appreciated. If it were solid, I would definitely kick it every time I reached into the washer, which is where it is currently sitting. Nothing leaks and my feet fit nicely below it. Although the bowls are lightweight, they are sturdy enough to avoid feeling cheap. As the dog eats or drinks, the maker added a rubber grip to the bowl's edge to prevent it from clinking against the metal stand (I am assuming that was the reason since that is what it does). The bottoms of the feet have rubber components (I had one missing, but since this is on ceramic tile I am not too concerned about it).It arrives ready to use; no assembly is required. I had no trouble removing the stickers from the bowls, unlike some reviewers' complaints. If I had, I would have dabbed them with a little rubbing alcohol, and it would have immediately rub off.
