Fantastic product! A little 9-pound shelter dog that was malnourished, had been shaved, and was always shivering was recently adopted by us. While we are pleased to see him gaining weight, his closely cropped hair poses more of a challenge. We also frequently wrapped him in warm towels straight from the dryer and wrapped him in an excessively large blanket due to his height and weight. I got the 21x17 Milliard Thermal Cat Mat after looking into many pad options that provide reflecting body warmth properties and reading Amazon Customer Reviews. Thankfully, it also works fantastically well for dogs. The mat is constructed of soft napped fleece that is well-crafted, and both of its sides are equally soft and provide the ideal amount of cushioning for comfort. Three weeks ago, when the pad was delivered, our little one embraced it right away. UPDATED RATING AT END: I raised it from 4 to 5 stars.My three cats each need their own warm bed, therefore I wanted to add another electric heating pad.This tiny pad resembles a standard pet bed. Small here refers to being able to fit a toy dog or a cat weighing no more than 20 pounds. (NOTE: I've included a picture of my 16-pound cat Ricky lying in this bed. In spite of the fact that he appears to be pouring over the bed in this picture, he is not.) Between the layers of the bed lies the heating element, and the cord runs out the back. My kitties adore it because it keeps them cozy without being too heated. In the winter, I always keep it plugged in. The bed's fabric is wonderful, velvety, and has lovely marbling. I was so upset when removing the box labels caused damage to a portion of the bed.This refers to the fact that the manufacturer labels the bed with a very sticky sticker that reads, "Test your new bed." This label comes off with a ton of fiber attached, leaving the area from whence it was taken looking quite bald. This adhesive only damages the lovely marbling in one spot.This label, in my opinion, is superfluous as a cardboard label is also fastened with a plastic punch tie. It's fascinating how the cardboard label contradicts the adhesive label's assertions. According to the cardboard label, you should wait an hour before putting a pillow on the bed for 20 to 30 minutes to evaluate the temperature. According to the sticky label, after plugging in the bed and placing a pillow on it, you should wait 20 minutes before checking the pillow's level of warmth.Pictures are given so you can see what I mean. I was initially dubious, but after reading the other reviews, I changed my mind. First off, the mat's quality seems to be rather good. I appreciate that there is a replaceable cloth that can be washed quickly. It serves as a small guard for the heating pad itself as well.I also appreciate that the temperature range is pretty wide and that there is a timer that runs from 1 to 12 hours. It is really helpful and simple to locate the ideal location.I did, however, discover two things that I didn't enjoy. I'm not sure if the product was partially defective or if that is how it was created. However, the black wire that connects to the top of the control pad is very flimsy and appears to have been adhered only weakly before falling out.The other problem is that, despite the claimed temperature, it doesn't seem to become as hot as it would in the description. To test it out, I placed it in the garage and set the temperature to 130F (maximum). It was connected for at least 6-7 hours. I periodically checked up on it. Warm water in a cup looked to be the warmest it ever got.The cause could be "user mistake." Maybe I'm being unreasonable and this mat can't compete with a full-sized garage. However, I still want to make this public so that others can use it as a reference. However, the product continues to function and completes the task. I made the decision to take away just 1 star because it doesn't seem to be a major problem right now.

This has in my possession for roughly six months, and overall, I would buy it again. The cold is not something my cat like very much, although I reside in Idaho. Thanks to this mat, my cat no longer snoozes on my face at night. The heating is excellent; it's not overly hot but warm enough to prevent asphyxia via a cat's butt. However, there are some disadvantages. There is only a tiny amount of padding, comparable to what you would find on a carpet. My cat gets annoyed by this. Additionally, the heating strip is only approximately half as wide as the pad. I remedied this by setting the mat on a cushion, however my cat immediately proclaims the mat useless if it ever moves even a tiny bit off the pillow. I fixed this by putting the pillow and mat into an extra storage container, keeping the mat attached to the pillow.Cons: not too hot or too cold; works properlyCat enjoys it (usually)Cons: Needs a lot more cushionIn comparison to the rest of the mat, the heating strip is narrow.

I was on the fence about purchasing this at first because $39.99 seemed expensive for what is essentially a rug stacked on top of itself, and I reasoned that I could make one myself for a much lower cost. However, after reading the seller's description, I realized how much effort they had put into making this a SAFE toy for cats. No chemicals (no VOCs), the strength of the bond on the velcro attached to it was tested, it is non-toxic, mold, mildew, and stain resistant, and the list goes on. Despite the fact that I knew I couldn't return it after my kids used it, I still ordered it. They played in the box as usual when it first arrived while I set it up, but before I even had a chance to vacuum it (as advised), they were all over it, rolling on it, and rubbing their own fragrance on it. That was only the bottom part, too! Our youngest (10-month-old female, who it was primarily purchased for because she's at that annoying "I'm bored all the time" phase) came flying out of nowhere and dove in head first before shooting out the other end through another hole without missing a beat when I put the top piece over it and made some hills and tunnels! Every single one of our five cats, including the grandmother cat who is 12 years old and grouchy, joined in the adventures on the first day. She mostly sat outdoors and smacked Phoebe when she stuck her head out, but she really enjoys the sensation on her claws. Our middle kid, Precious, who has obsessive/compulsive behavior, adores chewing on the bottom layer. Although I've been chewing on the same corner for several days, the rubber back seems to be in fine shape.In order to save money, DON'T attempt to make one yourself. Don't be a scrooge. Simply buy it. One of the few toys I will suggest to friends, my veterinarian, and the cat rescue organization I assist with is this one. This one receives 20 paws up from 5 cats, 4 paws each!P.S. Precious instructed me to inform Snuggly Cat, Inc. that they should "sinks for de rug but create a bigger top to buy seperate pweeze!"
