Best Cat Bed Mats in 2020

Upgrade Pet Heating Pad with Timer,Electric Pet Bed Warmer,Waterproof Heating Pad for Dogs Cat,Soft Heated Pet Mat,Indoor Pet Thermal Pad with Chew Resistant Cord,Washable Cover,Adjustable Temperature Review:

This pet heating pad/bed warmer comes compactly rolled up and packaged in a 12" rectangular box that must be kept for warranty purposes. There is a pvc/plastic odor upon unboxing, but it dissipates within 10 minutes once the heating pad is opened up. The black chew-resistant cord seems quite sturdy, and the zipper glides open and shut with ease to remove the cover. The timer is large and the print is easy to read. The timer lights glow brightly, making it so simple to monitor heat levels and time segments. The on/off button is an ideal size and functions smoothly.

Within 30 seconds of laying the heating pad out on the sofa, all four of the cats came to investigate. The big tomcat claimed it first, and as you can see in the photo, he luxuriated in the warmth and comfort. I had to lift him off so that each of the Maine Coon girls could have a chance. Each of them lasted a just few minutes before their eyes started to droop. They, too, had to be coaxed and lifted off the pad. The poor little tuxedo kitty has not even gotten a chance to try it out - the other three are keeping a rotation going on it. Clearly, as winter approaches, I will have to purchase a few more of these (i.e. one for each of their beds).

I have seen similar heating pads in the pet store, but their price is 2-3 times higher than this one.
This bed warmer is a real winner and I highly recommend it. Make sure to register your heating pad with Lesotc as they offer an extra 6 months on the warranty if you do so (total of 18 months warranty).

Milliard Thermal Cat Mat Review:

Excellent product! We recently adopted a small 9 pound shelter dog who was undernourished, had been shaved and was constantly shivering. We are happy he is gaining weight, though the closely cropped hair is more problematic and we were continually wrapping him in warm towels from the dryer and snuggling him in an oversized blanket that was cumbersome for his size and weight. After researching possible pad options that offer reflective body warmth qualities and reading Amazon Customer Reviews, I ordered the 21x17 Milliard Thermal Cat Mat ... which, thankfully, works beautifully well for dogs. The mat itself is well made of soft napped fleece and both sides are equally soft and offer the perfect depth of cushion for comfort. Upon the pad's arrival three weeks ago, our little guy took to it immediately. No hesitations or adjustments to the crinkly sounds or smell and his reflected body warmth has significantly reduced his shivering. We simply lay a small, lightweight pet blanket across him and he falls asleep immediately, or when awake, he pulls it from room to room by its tab hanger. We are so pleased by the comfort he derives from his mat, that a second one is being ordered for the his soft-sided car crate.

K&H Pet Products Thermo-Kitty Heated Pet Bed Review:

SEE UPDATE AT END - I changed my ranking from 4 to 5 stars

I have three cats and wanted to add another electric heating pad so they each have their own heated bed.

This mat is small and looks like a typical pet bed. By small, I mean that it will fit a cat no larger than 20 pounds or a toy dog. (NOTE: I attached a photo of my largest cat Ricky in this bed; he is 16 pounds. Although he looks like he is spilling over the bed in this photo, he is not.) The heating element is located between the layers of the bed with the cord extending out the back. My cats love it as it warms them without making them hot. I keep it plugged in all the time in the winter. The fabric on the bed is gorgeous, plush, and has a nice marbling to it. Therefore, I was disappointed when one area of the bed got damaged as a result of removing the packaging labels.

What I mean by this is that the manufacturer attaches a highly sticky label to the bed that says "Test your new bed." When this label is pulled off, a tremendous amount of fiber comes off with it leaving the area it was removed from slightly bald. The beautiful marbling is just destroyed in one section by this adhesive.

In my opinion, this label is unnecessary because a cardboard label is also attached with one of those plastic punch ties. What is interesting is that the cardboard label contradicts what is said on the adhesive label anyway. The cardboard label says to wait one hour before placing a pillow on the bed for 20-30 minutes and then testing the warmth. The adhesive label says to plug the bed in, put a pillow on the bed, and wait 20 minutes before testing the warmth of the pillow.

I've attached pictures so that you can see what I mean. I called K&H and spoke to gentlemen who said I could return the bed to Amazon for another one. I told him this would result in receiving another bed with another label, so what's the point. He provided an email address and I sent pictures to the manufacturer. They said they would look into this. I hope they resolve this issue. I actually would not purchase another one until I'm sure they fixed this issue. It only affects the aesthetics of the bed and is an eyesore to me.

In summary, the removal of the fibers does not take away from the functionality of the bed nor does it diminish its use in any way. However, I personally do not like the look of a patchy spot on the bed that does not match the quality and beautiful marbling of the fibers throughout the rest of the cat pad. For this reason, I rate this 4 stars. My cats, on the other hand, give it 5 stars.

UPDATE Nov. 24, 2015 - Attached are two pictures of my 9-pound cat Jake on this bed.

UPDATE Sep. 18, 2017 - My cats loved this bed so much that I purchased two more so that each of my three cats has one. Also, I'm happy to report that the vendor finally listened to my suggestion and is no longer sticking their tag to the bed. Instead they attach information on a cardboard tag the same way as clothes are tagged in a department store. Therefore, the bed remains in pristine condition. I raised my review from 4 to 5 stars as now both I and my cats love these beds.

RIOGOO Pet Heating Pad, Electric Heating Pad for Dogs and Cats Indoor Warming Mat with Auto Power Off 18" x 18" Review:

Pros:
-portable
-flexible
-1-12 hour shut off timer
-80-130F temperature range (check cons)
-removable mat cover
-can be easily thrown in the wash

Cons:
- doesn't get as hot as advertised (maybe as hot as a little above warm cup of water)
- black wire that connected to the top of the controller is lose, maybe the glue job isnt too good.

I purchased this item for my dog because it get's really cold in the winters where I live. Our portable gas heaters broke and we were also afraid that our dog might somehow breathe in the propane gas. We don't want that for him. We were looking for electric heaters, but we thought that might be dangerous leaving him alone with it.

I decided to look for alternatives and I ran into this! At first I was skeptical, but because of the other reviews, I decided to try it out. First, the quality of the mat itself seems pretty decent. I love how there's a removable piece of cloth that can easily be thrown in the wash. It also acts as a little protector for the heating pad itself.
I also love how there's a 1-12hr timer and the range for the temperature is also quite large! It is really useful and easy to find the perfect setting.
However, I did notice two thing that I didn't like. I'm not sure if it was a semi defective product or if it is made like that. But the black wire that's connected to the top of the control pad is very loose and it seems like it was glued on very loosely and it just fell out.
the other issue is that despite the temperature it says it reaches, it doesn't seem to get as warn as it says it would in the description. I set it to 130F (max) degrees and set it in the garage to test it out. It was plugged in for a good 6-7 hours. I checked back on it ever so often. It never seemed to get warmer than a warm cup of water.
It might be because of 'user error'. Perhaps this mat can't match up to a full sized garage, and I am being unfair. But I would still like to put this out there for others to know for reference! The product still works though and gets the job done. It doesn't seem like too much of an issue at the moment, so I decided to deduct only 1 star.

K&H PET PRODUCTS Thermo-Kitty Heated Pet Mat, Mocha, 6W Review:

I have had this for about 6 months now, and over all i would buy it again. I live in Idaho, and my cat is not particularly fond of the cold. This mat has been very nice, as my cat no longer sleeps on my face at night. the heating works wonderfully, not to hot but warm enough to prevent suffocation by way of feline butt. That being said, there are some draw backs. there is very little padding, about as much as you would find on a carpet. This displeases my cat. the heating strip is also rather narrow, about half the size of the pad. I fixed this by placing the mat on a pillow, but if the pad is ever moved even slightly off the pillow my cat immediately declares it unusable. I remedied this by placing the pillow and mat into a spare storage bin, preventing the mat from being dislodged from the pillow.

In Summary:
Pros:
works well
not to hot or to cold
cat loves it (usually)

Cons:
Could really use more padding
Heating strip is narrow compared to the rest of the mat.

SnugglyCat The Ripple Rug - Made in USA - Cat Activity Play Mat - Thermal Base -Fun Interactive Play - Training - Scratching - Bed Mat Review:

At first I hesitated to buy this since $39.99 seemed a steep price for what is basically one rug on top of the other and I figured I could make one myself for a much lower price but then I read through the sellers description and realized how much effort they went to to make this a SAFE toy for cats. No chemicals (no VOC's), they tested the strength of the bond on the velcro attached to it, Non-Toxic; Mold, Mildew, and Stain resistant, the list goes on... so I bought it even knowing it can't be returned after my kids used it. When it arrived, they played in the box like always while I set it up but I never even had a chance to vacuum it first (as suggested) before they were all over it, rolling on it, rubbing their own scent on it. And that was just the bottom piece! When I put the top piece over it and made some hills and tunnels our youngest (10 mo. old female who it was mainly bought for because she's at that annoying "I'm bored all the time" phase") came flying out of nowhere and dove in head first then shot out the other end through another hole without missing a beat! We have 5 cats and every single one of them, including the 12 yr old cranky, granny of the bunch took part in the explorations that first day. She mainly sat on the outside and slapped at Phoebe when she poked her head out but she also likes the feel of it on her claws, too. Precious, our obsessive/compulsive middle child LOVES to chew on the bottom layer. I guess the rubber back feels good but it shows no signs of wear after several days of chewing on the same corner.

So, yeah, DON'T try to make one yourself to save money. Don't be a cheapskate. Just buy it. This is one of the few toys I will be recommending not only to friends but also to my vet and the cat rescue group I help out with. With 5 cats, 4 paws each, this one gets 20 paws up!!!

P.S. Precious told me to tell Snuggly Cat, Inc., "sanks for de rug but make a bigger top to buy seperate pweeze!"
