If you are wondering whether double curtain rods are outdated, the answer is no. While they may not be as popular as they once were, they are still a stylish and functional option for window treatments. Double curtain rods can give your windows a more elegant look, and they can also be used to create a more dramatic effect. If you are looking for a way to add a touch of luxury to your home, double curtain rods are a great option.
You can put two curtains on one rod, but it may not look as full and luxurious as you would like. It is best to use two separate rods for a fuller look.
Most people believe that curtain rods should be installed on the trim. However, some experts believe that curtain rods should be installed on the wall. There are a few things to consider when deciding where to install your curtain rod. The most important thing to consider is the weight of your curtains. If your curtains are heavy, you will want to install the curtain rod on the wall. This will help to prevent the curtain rod from falling down.
There are a few ways to determine what size connecting rod you need. One way is to measure the bore of your engine. Another way is to consult a parts catalog or engine build manual. Most aftermarket connecting rod manufacturers will also have a cross-reference chart that you can use to select the right size for your application.

In order to conceal a relatively small window that was off-center and challenging to style around, I decided to add an accent wall to my bedroom. I made the decision to wrap the entire wall. I bought this rod to hang four floor-to-ceiling, somewhat hefty, lined draperies. Four brackets are included with the 72-144 inch rod, and I used all four. The rod is still robust at that length, even though the span was only approximately 132 inches. Even though I am a really capable woman with a lot of power equipment, I was able to level it and install it on my own. This was a wonderful, very reasonable alternative for me since I was hoping to buy something made of actual wrought iron but didn't want to pay $250 on something that would be covered in fabric. I'll probably choose this brand once more for the other rooms in my home.

The rod fell and would rewind itself while losing tension, according to other negative reports I read. If this was a design flaw, how is it possible that there are so many favorable reviews? However, I ran into the identical issue and investigated its root cause. The rod over the bathtub was clearly rotating on the bathroom tile to which it was attached. I gave the tile a close inspection and noticed that it was dusty. Because the tile is white, I didn't notice the dust when the house was still being built. It was possibly from sanding Sheetrock. I thoroughly cleaned the tiling as well as the rod ends using the silicon end points. NO MORE auto retraction, which used to adhere to the tile like glue. I only gave four stars because the directions should have mentioned how to clean the tiles. Unless the rod was heavily coated in high gloss paint and dust, I suspect the same issue would arise if you used it on drywall or wood. It looks fantastic.

You may replace old, unsightly aluminum curtain rods with Amazon Basics Curtain Rods with adorable square urn design finials to update the look of your windows. The hardware needed to quickly install them is included with this set. The rod's base is approximately 3/4 inches in diameter and will accommodate most types of curtains. There is no weight restriction, but the metal substance is sturdy; you won't be able to bend these easily. The lovely block or square finials are 2 inches by 2 inches and have a lovely, contemporary appearance. Please be aware that the curtain rod finial I am evaluating is different from the one shown on Amazon's website; it appears square rather than oval. There are hard plastic finials. After you have threaded the curtains through, screw the connected screw into the end of the curtain rod because they are pretty robust. They look fantastic. They range in size from 36 to 72 inches, so you may use a curtain rod for a window as little as 36 inches or extend it to a maximum length of 72 inches. The square finial appears sleek and contemporary. fantastic for a den or workplace.Change those unsightly aluminum curtain rods right away!

5/8-inch rod diameter capable of handling moderately heavy fabrics; can hold up to 20 pounds
Curtain rod curves at both ends, wrapping curtains around the window from end-to-end, blocking out light while insulating the room

Remember the old aluminum curtain rods with hook-and-plate ends that slid down into the woodwork around your windows? This improvement is ideal since it is stronger, more useful, and more sveltely beautiful. If you're hanging relatively light curtains and don't want or require expensive wood rods with finials, this is the best option. The mounting plate and screws are cleverly concealed at each end by bending inward, allowing the curtains to extend all the way to the edge. Only because it's a pain to always have to untwist the screw-in rods from both sides of the mounting plates did I downgrade them. Additionally, they won't screw into the ends properly if you don't MOUNT THEM WITH THE ROD ATTACHED.

The rod I was replacing had screws holding it together, but they had worn out from stretching across such a long distance. The AmazonBasics rod is better built because it doesn't rely on screws, which can strip out and make the rod useless. Additionally, because the section that protrudes to support the curtain rod gets in the way of the screw, the brackets holding up the old curtain rod were made as a single-piece unit that were nearly impossible to remove (they were probably really difficult to install as well). The brackets from AmazonBasics come in two sections for simpler installation and are made to be taken off by just loosing the screws—a far better design. I've only had the curtain rod up for a short while, but I'm already pleased with my purchase.

Many curtain rods, Venetian blinds, Roman shades, and other window coverings have been fitted by me. The installation of this curtain rod is by far the simplest I've encountered. There are only two screws on each side, and they serve as mollies for wall installation. Screws on the two brackets keep the rod firmly in place. However, if the curtain rod is installed correctly on a wall that can support the weight, you may hang even the heaviest of curtains on these rods, contrary to what other reviewers have said. The instructions are printed as four tiny drawings on the cardboard hang-tag, and you only receive four screws and four mollies. Although you probably won't need any instructions to put this curtain rod together, it would have been good if they had added a few more screws and mollies. They might be replaced because they are a fairly standard size, but I think this is a mistake.

This rod (72"-144") delivered as promised. Everything I needed was there, including three hanging brackets, so I could set it up in my travel trailer for one of my nieces who will be joining us on our trip to the Keys this summer. The rod is not curved, despite what the pictures suggest. Sorry, it's just the panorama view. The end finials are fairly hefty. Much larger than I anticipated... around a 3" diameter. If the middle pole had been a little longer to provide more support in the middle of the rod and if the rod had been screwed together in some way or had rubber gaskets that would prevent the middle pole from sliding around when you move the curtains along the rod, it would have received a perfect score of 5. Little black rubber bands that I slipped on the middle rod close to where the middle rod fits into each end piece served as my quick repair for this problem. It is helpful but not flawless. Additionally, it was simple to nick as I struggled to hang it up. But those are hidden by the curtain, so no issues there. When I first explained my idea to my husband, he expressed anxiety; nevertheless, once it was installed, he remarked that it appeared well-done and as though it had always been there. In order to help insulate during the winter camping heating season, he wants it to remain up after my niece's visit. When the trailer is being towed, we'll see how it holds up. When we arrive at our location, if the rod and curtain are on the floor, they may need to be fitted as needed. That brings to mind the fact that the brackets' design makes it extremely simple to remove everything but the screws, which is good for my purpose. There are no issues from me regarding the hanging bracket's construction, as I've read from other reviewers. Because I didn't discover until after the fact that the rods already included with everything you needed, I additionally purchased a shorter rod and a few hanging brackets that I ultimately decided not to use or realized I didn't need. Reading is fundamental-UGH! Overall, everything works and looks well.

5/8-Inch Diameter Decorative Curtain Rod adjusts from 28 to 48 Inches
Antique rust finish
$234
This curtain rod had a great price. I saved money by purchasing this uncommon shade of "antique rust" and was happy to learn that in person, it is almost indistinguishable from black. The two end caps have a pleasant "golden" tint that I enjoy, but it doesn't stick out. This curtain rod is actually less expensive than some of the shorter curtain rods, making it the only attractive and reasonably priced option longer than 48 inches. Excellent bargain, attractive packaging, and seems well-made. I would strongly advise.

I've worked as an industrial engineer for 40 years, so I've learned to pay attention to the little details. Too often, businesses offer cheap hardware, particularly drywall anchors. To prevent the substance from dropping on my already woozy head, I typically use my own. The high-quality anchors that were provided allowed me to place these securely when I was unable to use a stud, which made me glad to see. After carefully checking the three of these I bought, I was convinced that the manufacturer had produced high-quality material all around. I was so delighted that I went out and bought another three to replace different rods I already had in another area.Because of the excellent ratings, I initially bought these rods, and I can attest that I concur with them.

To hang curtains in front of our sliding glass doors, we utilize this (see photo). About 100 inches are the width of the doors. This rod easily supports the weight of two lined curtains, and I'm confident it could support more. It comes with the hanging brackets required for hanging, and there are three brackets total—one for each side and one for the center. When hanging such a long rod, the middle bracket is crucial, and while not all rods have one, this one has. Without it, the rod can droop under the weight of the curtains or sag in the middle. The cost is competitive with ones I've seen at local Target and other stores (the North East). Since the ball at the end is little, it won't create a big impression in your space. It's straightforward and effective, which is what I was looking for. It was simple to erect.
To replace a window pin, you'll need to first remove the old pin. To do this, use a screwdriver to pry out the old pin. Once the old pin is removed, insert the new pin into the hole. Use a hammer to gently tap the new pin into place.
A curtain rod should extend at least 12 inches past a window on each side in order to provide proper coverage and prevent light from shining through the sides of the curtains. Depending on the size and placement of the window, you may want to extend the curtain rod even further to provide more coverage and privacy.
There's no definitive answer to how much wider a curtain rod should be than a window, as it depends on personal preference and the look you're going for in your space. Some people prefer a curtain rod that's just a few inches wider than the window, while others like a rod that's a few feet wider. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what looks best in your home.
Curtains should be at least 2 times the width of the window. For a 70 inch window, curtains should be at least 140 inches wide.
If you're unsure whether to go with a single or double curtain rod, there are a few things to consider. A single rod is typically used for lighter fabrics, while a double rod is better for heavier fabrics. If you're hanging curtains that are on the heavier side, you may want to opt for a double rod to ensure they stay in place. You'll also want to consider the look you're going for. A double rod can give your windows a more dramatic look, while a single rod is more understated. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide which option best suits
