The pieces move across the board with ease. On any table or the kitchen counter, it's simple to set up. Although it helps when playing for your pieces to roll back towards the middle, it also helps if you carefully roll the board up after usage to prevent the ends from starting to curl inward. There aren't many options available, but this game is the best there is for curling as a family activity on a table. Though we were concerned, we were pleasantly surprised by how well-designed this version was! The plastic "stones" inside the ball-bearings accurately represented the relative weight of the stones, and the surface was slick enough to create the sensation of ice by simply flinging the stones too far. Brooms weren't required, and they weren't even practical. The stones may even curl like they would in real life if the playing area is not perfectly level. For introducing people to the more-fun-than-it-looks game of curling, we wholeheartedly believe that this is the ideal tabletop curling game.

This game is a lot of fun for my kids and I. The game pieces, or "rocks," move easily and straightly. This game could be a little challenging for smaller children because they do call for a rather gentle touch. The curling surface has a tiny curl on the sides and is flat in the middle, which, in my opinion, has no detrimental effects on game play. It's a fantastic game to bring to a party or gathering because it's simple to set up, take down, and is also quite portable. Making the playing area a little bit longer would be my single enhancement recommendation; I believe 5 feet would be ideal. I think this product is a great buy for individuals who want to play games of this nature.
