What a great dispenser! The largest roll of Bounty paper towels can easily be placed on it, and it feels comfortable and robust in addition to being quite stylish. It deserves at least five stars, but the screws are subpar. I can drill a starting hole into the wood so that the screws may be inserted easily, despite being a woman in my 70s and not possessing superhuman power. The wood screws' heads came off after I drilled the starter holes, used a phillips head screwdriver to provide direct pressure, and 90% of the way in. Good grief, I thought it was an accident and put in the next one, but dammit it if that screw again performed the same thing (see pictures). The second head came off as though it were constructed of the flimsiest material. The final screw was then changed with a wood screw from my personal tool room because I didn't want to take any chances, and it worked just perfectly. Why then would a quality product use such subpar, inexpensive screws? Not a clue, but also not good. I must now determine if there is any way to attempt to remove the minute pieces that are protruding and in no way supporting the mounting plate. What a conundrum. This is gorgeous, however the screws are a bummer. Make sure to discard and use either your own or some that you bought at the hardware store.

For the first two thirds of the roll, it performs as promised, but after that, there is not enough pressure to hold the roll as you take a towel off. It still works wonderfully if you put a finger on the roll or pressure plate, but if you don't, you'll run into the same issue that you thought you were fixing: it won't tear off cleanly, and you'll end up with more towels than you intended.There is still a warning at the beginning of the roll, even though the gadget is functioning as it should. To tear off the towel with one hand, you must align the perforation slightly beyond the pressure plate, no more than an inch; otherwise, you may only occasionally acquire a single towel. This device has the best chance of actually functioning out of all the ones I've tried to achieve the desired outcome. The ratchet-driven method should theory fix the issue by tightening up as it approaches the end of the roll, but when it does, you have to use both hands to remove the towels. The issue with this one is that while the pressure plate doesn't tighten, the roll does not. I don't believe there is a perfect answer to this baffling issue.

A nice, well-made item. It's functioning well so far. Installation on a wall is reasonably simple. I wanted to install it under my kitchen cabinet, but I was unable to do so because the huge towel rolls we use would not slide on to the unit due to the cabinet's 1/2 lip (the bottom of the cabinet is 1/2 higher than the cabinet edge). Most likely, a smaller roll might fit.Therefore, I mounted it on the wall beneath and behind my cabinet. Additionally, that does not operate well either, which is why this review only has four instead of five stars. Again, only the gigantic rolls of paper towels would provide a problem. However, there is barely enough room for the towels to fit between the roller and the small mounting plate, which is where you attach the item into the wall. However, relative to the roller, that mounting plate is a little off center. This indicates that the thickest portion of a full mega roll is located immediately below the mounting plate. How come you care? So until the first 10 to 20 sheets are removed, the roll's thickest portion will be TOUCHING THE WALL. Because of this, it is a LITTLE tougher to pull the sheets down, but it is still possible. My concern is that over time, the rubbing that occurs during the first few minutes of using a full roll would remove paint off the wall in a thin (1 to 2 inch) strip where the towel roll contacts the wall.Both of my problems might be resolved by increasing the distance between the roller and mounting plate by 1/2 inch, or better still, by an inch (rubbing the wall and not working under my cabinet). Today's giant rolls are bigger than they were four years ago. The mega rolls were not as enormous as they are now when some users stated (in 2013 and 2014) that they worked properly. I would think that the producer would be aware of these problems and change the product's dimensions appropriately.

We purchased this to hang the paper towels and free up some counter space because our kitchen counters were becoming too crowded. I purchased this because the sound that my old paper towel holder made as it moved across our granite counter tops was the worst and most obnoxious. When you draw a paper towel or move the holder across the counter, the padded base is silent.The paper towel core is firmly held in place by the rubber spine. This makes removing a paper towel with one hand simple. Although the spine isn't particularly appealing, it does its job extremely well and is hidden when a paper towel roll is placed on the holder.The quality is excellent. If you leave it on the counter, it looks good. I advise everyone to do this.

After my great reconstruction guys are done, we'll mount it on the inside wall where I'll be sitting and able to reach the vegetables and other ingredients for cooking. However, we noticed that while the open design was better for a handicapped person like me who can only use one hand at a time, it left the roll unable to be pulled off with the desired amount. Therefore, we adjusted it so that it now rolls and stays while pointing up, and I bring the sheets with me.I assert that it is time for American manufacturers of everything to make products that are user-friendly. However, why don't you use architects, designers, and engineers who are female, disabled, blind, in wheel chairs, holding infants, old, etc. as advisors or at the very least advisors when making design decisions?
