This item caused me a little bit of trouble, but OXO worked hard to resolve the situation. Full stars for it, I appreciate it.The problem I have is that on each side of the higher cup, there are milling markings. This is especially upsetting coming from OXO.I received a replacement, but the problem persisted. Although I'm not an expert, taking the bit out while it's rotating ought to stop this. You can't allow stuff like grenadine crust up on it and then expect to be able to simply clean it afterwards because it is largely cosmetic but harder to clean. It should be fine as long as you maintain it tidy.Full stars because it is good overall, has the potential to be great, and presently provides excellent customer service.

This is arguably the best jigger I've ever used, and I've worked at distilleries and was a terrible catering bartender. The issue with most jiggers is that they frequently just have one measurement—like.5 or 1 ounce—on either side. To prepare the complete range of drinks that any bartender or home "mixologist" would appreciate, you are forced to have 3 or 4 jiggers with various measurements. Even more affluent "japanese" style jiggers frequently don't have the standard.25oz measurement found in many drinks. The.25oz measurement and lines on the inside and outside of the jigger, together with their matching measurements in oz, are all included in this jigger, which eliminates all of those issues. They are.25 oz,.5 oz,.75 oz, 1 oz, 1.5 oz, and 2 oz. In contrast to less expensive jiggers, neither the lines nor the measures will fade over time or after dishwashing. Great jigger. It's fairly true. My food scale reads 1.1 fl. oz for a 1 oz measurement, exactly on the measurement line. And that is a check from the meniscus. I like the gold hue of it, but the gloss is a touch too brilliant for me.

I'm happy I finally made the purchase of one of these after giving it some thought.Whether they were made of plastic or stainless steel, conventional cone-shaped jiggers always caused me to spill wine.I liked the idea that the OXO Steel Angled Jigger could sit flat on any surface as I poured, so I got one. That meant that, in contrast to traditional jiggers, I could concentrate just on the pour and not have to hold the jigger while measuring.Because of the tilted measurement surface and markings, I loved the prospect of seeing the measurement while pouring directly into the jigger. When trying to measure up to the rim with other jiggers, I would be concerned that I would spill alcohol all over my counter. Fortunately, the slightly curved sides of the pour spout at the top solve that issue by "focusing" the final pour. Additionally, there is enough space between the 2-ounce/4-tablespoon measurement indication and the jigger's rim to prevent spills.Having said that, using the OXO Steel Angled jigger requires some experience. I've found that smaller, skinnier bottles with longer necks seem to produce better pours for me than larger, heavier bottles with shorter necks (1.75L bottles of New Amsterdam Gin come to mind). Simply direct the bottle's mouth toward the middle of the jigger rather than too closely toward the edge to prevent spills while using this jigger. You might anticipate some spills until you master it.No matter which jigger you use, even the OXO Steel Angled jigger, you will under-pour or over-pour depending on accuracy. The advantage of this jigger over more conventional ones is that even if you overpour, the extra liquid will end up in your drink rather than all over your counter.The only way this jigger could be improved is if it measured three ounces (three normal U.S. shots) as opposed to just two! This jigger was my first choice for a few reasons, and it has exceeded my expectations. At first, it appeared that the goblet design would be simpler to pour from than the more conventional conical-looking jiggers. The fact that this one also contains lines for smaller measures was what I enjoyed most, though. You may measure as little as a 1/4 oz in the 1 oz part, which is just what I needed for some of the recently created drinks with lesser alcohol concentration. In order to measure a quarter ounce of various substances before purchasing this, I had to google conversions to teaspoons, and I don't think conversion math and alcohol work well together. Cocktail pun, ha.

I chose to get one of these to aid in the pouring process while I prepared drinks for a party. I've been using it for about a month, and the 1oz/2oz sides are precise. No residue or aftertaste remains from the product even after numerous washings. Great looks, wonderful weight, and nice feel. Two lines with the weights of 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz are carved into the metal inside the 1 oz end, making it highly versatile. I'm not sure if the Barfly logo will fade with time, but that doesn't matter to me. Is this Japanese-style jigger superior to the common bar jigger and is the extra cost justified? Yes, in my opinion.
