First off, I appreciate that I received this product just two days after ordering it. It's amazing how the reviews can be so disparate. I read both positive and negative reviews before deciding to purchase it. Anyhow, it seems like this mattress protector is well-made. Additionally, I managed to place it on my mattress by myself. It was quite simple to put the mattress on that way because I supported the short end of the mattress up on a 2 1/2 foot tall trunk I keep at the foot of my bed. It was also made simple for me by the huge zipper opening, which I adore. The mattress protector was a perfect fit for my new, 11-inch-high mattress; there was no unsightly surplus material. Additionally, it doesn't produce any strange plastic noises when I sleep on it. Yes, a small amount of air got trapped in it and caused it to puff out, but I just opened it up and forced the air out. This seemed to me to suggest a nice, airtight fit. I apologize, but I did not test its waterproofness. I purchased it to deter bedbugs and dust mites, and I believe it will be very effective in doing so (thankfully, I have never seen bed bugs). Okay, let's begin! For three years, I've used the same boxspring encasement. I acquired bed bugs as a result of hard handling, a cat that used my taped-up boxspring as her own scratching post, and general wear and tear. simply because. Out of nowhere.I bought this case since it has unique zipper closures and was rated far higher than the competition.Here are my weaknesses. Over the zipper, the "unique" velcro clasp is essentially useless. If they can get through a zipper, they can also get through a loop and hook, or velcro, thus this extra flap doesn't cover the entire zipper. I've had everything removed and treated four times. This is pointless if you don't do at least that.Be wise, be kind, and be aware that the process will be drawn-out and difficult.If it weren't for the zipper issue, I'd give it a five-star rating.

The are excellent for bedbug-infested mattress sealing. The weighs a lot. The width is generous without being overly so. Longer than a mattress, in fact. There is an extra length of around 8". The mattresses can be securely taped in with plenty of room. It adheres to this incredibly nicely with packing tape.I used a protected mattress cover after wrapping the mattress in this to prevent bedbugs. That eliminates the plastic's loudness. Amazon sells zippered vinyl mattress covers for bedbugs. They cost twice as much as these and are white, silky, and zipped. Both the base of a king size bed and a twin bed were constructed using them. There is no requirement to utilize a padded mattress cover while utilizing the zippered vinyl mattress covers. They are delicate and silent. They almost have the appearance of a sheet, but they are certainly made of vinyl. Both effectively combat such pests.

Everyone, I don't think, loves finding out that an overnight school excursion sends unexpected visitors home with them. A few weeks after our sons returned home, we found out we had a bed insect problem. "Which is that? Oh, no. I believe... Is it? Indeed, Houston, there is a problem." We then entered warfare mode. In an effort to safeguard my child's bed following treatment, I purchased this encasement. I'm SO HAPPY I did! It fits perfectly. The zipper is totally secure, but there is still some room. This encasement has made things so much easier, even though we are being thorough and inspecting daily for any "stray" bugs! Strong seams are used. Well-covered zipper Nothing is able to enter or exit this enclosure. However, one person can do it. I do advise having an extra set of hands to help you put it on. It only requires some maneuvering. It proceeds without difficulty and is quiet. I do suggest washing it before using. And most definitely dry on LOW HEAT while often flipping it. Yet it was SO worth it. As of now, so nice! I had never seen a bed bug in my 50 years of existence, but someway this past year, they made their way into our house and into our bed. To my great dismay, I bought the box spring and mattress encasement as soon as I realized what they were. With my husband's assistance, putting it on was very simple. Before using it, I also sprinkled the entire item with Diatomaceous Earth. The DE tears the bugs' exoskeletons, causing them to become fatally dehydrated. I was able to sleep through the night that night for the first time in weeks without any creepy crawlies biting me.Although I was aware that not all bed bugs were in the box spring when we covered it, those that were there are now trapped and will eventually perish. This encasement alone won't be enough to get rid of bed bugs in your home because, like most insects, there are 100 more hiding for every one you see. In an effort to address a bed insect problem from earlier this year, we ordered this. I firmly believe that we were able to collect the majority of them due of these covers; otherwise, the problem would still be present. We have been clear of bed bugs for several months. They are cunning little suckers, but if you work hard and try to solve the problem as soon as you can, you can get rid of them. Even though we had to discard our couch, we managed to keep everything under control. But for a few months, it was torture. Calling pest control won't help because they lack the tools to solve the problem long-term. Diatomaceous earth powder, vacuuming, and the use of these covers are required. trapping sticky targets. This mattress protector was purchased for my boyfriend, who still has some residual paranoia about bedbugs after having an encounter with them a few years ago. He had just recently bought a new queen-sized pillow-top mattress, so I reasoned that now would be a good time to protect it and offer him some additional peace of mind. To be clear, I had received a few bites over the course of a week while being there and sleeping on the new bed, and about the time this came in, we discovered what we believe to be a lone bedbug that was mature or almost so. With the help of these protectors—I purchased one for the mattress and one for the boxsprings—a heat gun, and a ton of Diatemacious Earth (is that a word? The bug was never seen again; it was killed by a fine dust of incredibly minute, sharp particles that essentially cut into their joints and bodies. Anyone combating pests should use the dust in addition to these covers, in my opinion.I suggest unpacking the package, inspecting the cloth for any flaws, and checking all of the seams, including the zipper. Several reviewers bemoaned the presence of tears or loose stitches. These are produced at an absurd rate by machines in massive factories, so it never hurts to double-check. At that kind of speed and size, things can occasionally slip out of line. Both of ours were superb.Some people also objected to the "chemical" or "plastic" smell. Although the instructions on the packaging advise running them through the washer and dryer first, they are not overly strong. The two covers were washed separately and in tandem. In the beginning, we left them zipped to protect the delicate coil of the zipper, but looking back, I would advise leaving it completely unzipped. The water resistance of the covers and the closed zippers during the spin cycle resulted in enormous, flappy water balloons that kept tipping the washer off balance. It was all well once we unzipped them to let the water out. They'll take an absurdly long time to dry. Just be patient, keep the heat low, and remove them to reposition them in the dryer so they dry evenly. Some reviewers said that they cranked the heat up too high, causing their covers to melt or become brittle from drying. Just relax. Waiting a few hours with the dryer won't hurt you because you already had to wait for the item to ship to your home.We can put them both on with ease with two persons, but with sufficient grace and care, one person might be able to. When lifting the mattress back into place after installation, it is simpler to avoid cover tears with two individuals present.Four months ago, I gave my partner a mattress and boxspring protector for his new bed. He experienced bed bugs a few years ago, which left him with some minor trauma. On second thought, don't go there. Just ask him about it if you want a guaranteed rant. Not even there do we go. To avoid the production of a massive flappy water balloon that will attempt to strangle the agitator as your washer leaps around like a crazed rodeo bull, fully unzip the bag (yep, this happened). If the two sides try to move in different ways, fully unzip it to avoid harm from the zipper being pulled open.- VERIFY THE DRYER'S HEAT SETTING - Reduce the temperature to avoid melting any of the synthetic materials. If it seems like you're taking an absurdly long time to think everything through and you're beginning to worry excessively, then YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT!To help it dry evenly and (little) faster, take it out, fluff it up, and flip it over. We probably put our coverings through four dryer cycles.- Use two persons to assist in putting it on. With a little teamwork and a plan, it goes rather easily and quickly and will help avoid any potential snags or rips from tugging. Before setting it down, we zipped up one side after sliding the cover over one end and into position. Then, we raised the zipped side so that we could align the cover's bottom before zipping up the opposite end. Lay it down once again, zip the final side, and then position the mattress and boxspring.- Use the zipper with caution. Pull your fabric into position gently so that the zipper's two sides are aligned and near to one another. Since the zipper is tiny and delicate, it can effectively block out bugs. If you treat it well, it should zip without a hitch. There were a few "stuck areas" on ours where the zipper wouldn't exactly go. Simply persuade the zipper pull with a gentle tug, or unzip a little and try again. If you're angry, leave. After all the effort and money you've put on it thus far, it's not worth the possibility of busting the zipper.Understand that this cover is not some sort of magical kryptonite that annihilates bugs by merely being in the same room if you already have bedbugs. It only eliminates bugs on a mattress that is already afflicted by locking them within until they starve (about a year or something crazy). Any bug it comes into contact with will be killed by diatemacious (sp?) Earth. Consider utilizing this in addition to your covers.

I've been battling a terrible bed insect infestation at my grandmother's house for a while. I bought these for her bed and box spring because she is thrifty and would not purchase a new mattress. They are slightly noisy, but not loud enough to wake up even a light sleeper, and she felt no change in the temperature. Although the polyester topping is ten times better than the cheap vinyl one I bought a few years ago, I had hoped for a cotton topping instead. January 2019 update:I bought this device in the beginning of 2017, and now that I've used it for more than a year, I wanted to write a more in-depth review. I bought this to safeguard my brand-new 14-inch memory foam bed. You can probably appreciate the never-ending spills and messes that come with having four children, especially when it comes to "accidents" and diaper leaks. I gambled on this one since I needed a mattress encasement protector that would be completely dependable. At first, I was dubious, but.. WOW, my dubious mind was disproven!! I am completely in awe of its flawless performance! For more than a year, I've maintained this encasement next to my bed at all times—except when it needed to be washed. My mattress was never touched, despite the multiple spills and messes! Nothing is visible, not even a microscopic speck of dirt or stain. My bed (which has a white stretch-knit cover) looks and smells exactly the same as it did the first time I put it up when I take the encasement off. I'm not even slightly exaggerating. This cover is 100 percent waterproof! Never does anything pass through to the other side. This has been washed multiple times in accordance with the directions, and each time it comes out clean and undamaged. This has a snug fit but is also highly stretchable if you have a thicker mattress because it fits my 14-inch mattress wonderfully. Lucid is the brand to choose if you desire dependability and toughness!This is a requirement when buying a new mattress. For a brand-new 14-inch gel memory foam mattress, I bought this encasement (Classic Brands). The encasement is designed to fit mattresses up to 22 inches thick, but it seemed to have almost reached that limit at 14 inches because it seemed to fit my mattress perfectly; any thicker may have been a little restricting. Only the front of the mattress has a zipper; the rest of the mattress is not covered, which I actually appreciate. The material is lovely and silky soft, and the zipper part is strong and reliable.
