Since several years ago, we have only used K9 Advantix II on our dogs in the warmer months. This year, I had to make the purchase and application earlier than normal because to a February thaw that occurred early. There are always ticks. Although my older children adore cuddling with the dog on their beds, I do not like the dog on the furniture. For my dog and much more so for my kids, I am quite concerned about Lyme disease. The main reason I use this product is to prevent lyme disease, and I think it works well. Having said that, I don't apply every thirty days. It is powerful. I reapply every 6-7 weeks. Because I mark my calendar, I am aware that I will be gone for 6-7 weeks. Since our dog weighs just over 55 pounds and is on the verge of needing the XL Dog dose, I've been debating switching to the Large Dog dose in an effort to limit exposure to toxicity. By doing that, I suppose he might require the medication for 4-5 weeks. If the dosage or application changes, I will update. Good luck to the reviewers!

Permit me to qualify this review by adding that out of more than 700 reviews, this was the hardest for me to write because I abhor using pesticides on our dogs. Having said that, we do everything in our power to safeguard our bulldogs because we live in tick and flea central and are surrounded by dense forest. Having said that, if you're reading these reviews, your dog or dogs are also close to your heart, thus using these products is a difficult decision that we must make.In light of this, I sincerely hope the following information may be useful to you.The first Frontline clinical trials began in 1985, not long after the discovery of its active component, fipronil. To its credit, Frontline has continued to be the safest, if not the most effective, flea and tick medication. The more potent products, however, put your dog at a far larger risk.Although it's a precarious balance, Frontline and FrontLine Plus are, in my opinion, your greatest bet for giving your dog the maximum level of protection with the least amount of risk.Permethrin, which may also be identified as Lyclear or Nix as the active ingredient, is present in the majority of tick and flea products. Lethal neurotoxic permethrin enters every major organ of the dog's body through the circulatory system, including the brain, where it can cause irreparable harm. Permethrin causes thousands of canine deaths each year. Because it is affordable and effective, firms continue to disregard the guidance even though the FDA has required a minimum use not to exceed 750PPM. We used this item right away after receiving it yesterday. After an hour, I made the decision to inspect my dog's hair for fleas. The ones I discovered were already deceased. To remove as many as feasible, I made the decision to bathe our dog later. Every flea I discovered had already expired. Our dog is now very content and flea-free. This item is fantastic! As stated on the package, the treatment is just temporary and only used to eradicate the flea infestation. Then, you must give your pet a long-term care item. I had assumed we would need to give our dog another medication the following day, but we only needed one. Most likely as a result of his lower size. After a careful check, I did discover another flea on him today, but it was already dead. I'd highly advise using this before giving your pet a long-term solution if you need something quick and simple to get rid of the infestation.

I adore Frontline to the hilt. Since I've been using it for over 15 years, neither fleas nor ticks have ever touched my dogs. Although I am aware that some people worry about giving their pet chemicals, none of my dogs have ever experienced a negative reaction. Much better than flea collars, which have an unpleasant smell, are oily, and are ineffective. My Wheaten Terrier only ever experienced a darker hair patch where I applied Frontline as a side effect of Frontline. It was enduring. It was a little impact for the enormous benefit of having no fleas because she wasn't a show dog. Additionally, it appears that the cost has decreased, making it less expensive than before. Currently, I have two dogs; one weighs 28 pounds, the other 14 pounds. I purchase the 23-44 pound box, but I only use half of the product on the smaller dog because a veterinarian advised me to do so. This helps me save some money because I don't have to buy two different boxes. However, before you do this with your own dogs, please consult your own veterinarian. In addition, I apply every 60 days rather than every 30 days, and there are still no fleas or ticks. Even though my dogs are always running around in my backyard and I am aware that deer frequently visit, Frontline has consistently provided us with excellent results.
