Yes, you can put seedlings in a cold frame. A cold frame is a great way to protect your seedlings from the cold weather and wind.
A cold frame is a structure that is typically used to protect plants from cold weather. However, you can also use a cold frame to water plants. This can be helpful if you live in an area with a lot of rainfall.

To keep a cold frame warm at night, you can use a variety of methods. One option is to place a heat lamp inside the cold frame. This will provide a consistent source of heat, but you will need to be careful not to overheat the plants. Another option is to place a hot water bottle or other container of warm water inside the cold frame. This

These are a separate purchase. I needed more because I'd previously consumed some. When the temperature is cool, as it has been lately, they are fantastic. To encourage growth, I placed them on the peppers and tomatoes. Since it is too cold for the beans to sprout, I placed some of them over the spot where I planted them. Although I could make something out of pipes and plastic, these are more durable and convenient to store when not in use.

I wasn't sure this would truly function when we bought it. We planted three different kinds of lettuce and some spinach in our raised garden bed earlier this year and covered it with a cloche. Since we planted the seeds, it has been around 6 to 8 weeks, and everything has withstood the extremely cold weather, which has included numerous below-freezing nights and days as well as some snow and ice. The vegetation has prospered. For us, this solution actually worked. The lettuce and spinach we have are the most gorgeous I've ever seen. Due to the chilly and rainy days, we typically can't plant lettuce and spinach too early. Once it becomes too hot, the plants don't do well. The plants are gorgeous and quite vigorous. Although we will be able to eat lettuce and spinach more sooner than ever before, it's time to remove the cloche. I don't frequently feel this giddy over a product, but this impressed me.

Not too bad for the cost. The framing seems a little weak in my opinion, is built of rather low density lumber, and splinters easily, which causes the finish to seem a little stripey after some use. No news this season on how long the finish will endure or how the polycarbonate sheet will hold up to prolonged sun exposure; if I remember next year, I'll update the evaluation. To be safe, I added another layer of Thompson's WaterSeal.People might be interested to know that the cold frame has no floor because it is meant to be set on the ground and that the clear material is 2 cm corrugated polycarbonate plastic. If you don't set up the frame on level, or at least flat ground, don't expect it to work. If one want, one could easily assemble legs and a floor.

I used the frame as a greenhouse effect because I sowed the seed late this year. I have been impressed by the frame's durability and adaptability. The frame was frequently blown into different garden areas during our recent series of violent windstorms, but despite being knocked around, it held up well. Be cautious while tightening the wood screws in the soft wood when mounting the lid hinges to the main frame.I spent roughly 10 minutes assembling.I adore that the top can be opened for ventilation and that you can adjust and secure the lid in place with the side screws.Large enough to accommodate a respectable number of plants or seedlings while still being small enough to fit on a balcony.

I'm not sure why this has such negative ratings. Undoubtedly, it is not a $300 fully insulated cold frame, nor will it offer the same level of protection as a heated greenhouse. Duh. Stop being stingy if you want it. This is ideal for a straightforward cold frame to harden off and protect seedlings prior to transplanting. I'm in zone 6b and have tomato plants that are six weeks old in my gardener's cold frame waiting to be transplanted in April. The temperature is in the 50s during the day, while it is mostly in the 30s at night. My tomato plants have not even been slightly harmed by the cold; instead, they are thriving and expanding in their little outdoor house while soaking up the sunshine. It does maintain temperatures that are 10 to 15 degrees higher than those outside at night since I've insulated the bottom with a layer of hay. On hot days, make sure to wake up with the sun and open the vent to prevent your plants from overheating. To make the cold frame more durable and weather resistant, you can purchase weather seal and caulk, but I didn't use either, and it's fine. Both roomy and simple to assemble. Having fun thus far!

A cold frame is a box with a clear lid, typically used to protect young plants or seedlings from cold weather.
