Are LED lights as good as grow lights?

Yes, LED lights are just as good as grow lights. They are more energy efficient and last longer, making them a great option for indoor gardening.

Can a white LED light be used as a grow light?

Yes, a white LED light can be used as a grow light. White LED lights provide a full spectrum of light, which is necessary for plant growth. Plants need different colors of light for different stages of growth, so a white LED light can provide the light that plants need throughout their entire life cycle.

Can I leave my grow light on 24 hours?

Yes, you can leave your grow light on for 24 hours. However, you will need to provide additional ventilation and make sure the light is not too close to the plants to prevent them from getting too much light.

Can I use a regular shop light as a grow light?

If you are looking for a grow light to help your plants grow, a regular shop light may not be the best option. While shop lights can provide some light for your plants, they may not be intense enough to help your plants grow optimally. Additionally, shop lights typically do not provide the full spectrum of light that plants need for photosynthesis. If you are looking for a grow light to help your plants grow, you may want to consider investing in a grow light specifically designed for plants.

Apollo Horticulture GLRP14 1/4" Grow Light Heavy Duty Adjustable Rope Hanger with 8 Feet Braided Rope at 300 lbs Capacity per Pair Review:

Five of these sets have already been acquired by me. They are far superior to using chains and function excellently. However, if you are utilizing three shelves and are using them to grow seedlings on 6' shelving units with lights, you might have trouble lifting them high enough as your plants grow. There is a 6" run where it attaches to the shelf's top, effectively removing 6" of height. When your seedlings are smaller, say 8 to 10 inches tall, this is not an issue, but if you plan to grow them larger indoors under lights, you will likely need to use a S hook to lift them higher as your plants grow. But realize that you won't run into any issues if you don't impose height restrictions on them.

Grow Light, Ankace Upgraded Version 40W Dual Head Timing 36 LED 5 Dimmable Levels Plant Grow Lights for Indoor Plants with Red Blue Spectrum, Adjustable Gooseneck, 3 6 12H Timer, 3 Switch Modes Review:

This lamp IS ACTIVE. About a week ago, I got some lemon seeds to sprout. I planted them as soon as some root was visible. My lemon seeds have only been exposed to this light for three days, but already the roots have gotten so much longer than I'm used to in that short of a period that one of them has a green sprout coming up that may be difficult to detect in the images. My string of hearts has been exposed to light for one hour each day for the past two days, and it appears that some new baby hearts have emerged. My bedroom doesn't get a lot of natural light throughout the day, so having this is wonderful.UPDATE: Since I've been putting the light on my plants for less than a month now, I though I'd give you an update on my lemons and the string of hearts that you can see in my before photos. Check out the string of hearts' incredible development, as well as the lemon plants, for scale. I'm overjoyed!

VIVOSUN - 2 Pairs 1/8 inch Adjustable Heavy Duty Rope Hanger - Reinforced Metal Internal Gears, Loose-Proof Design, 8-ft Long & 150lbs Weight Capacity (Upgraded Version) Review:

I'm now hanging a 4 foot, 4-bulb 54W T5 HO fixture with these for seedlings; subsequently, I'll use it for MH and HPS. Carabiners won't fit around the light rack that I have hanging on since it is made of pipe that is about 1" thick. I tried attaching two clips together, but this is really unstable. The answer was to clip onto a steel ring and place it over the pipe. The rings are identical to those in the adult section;-)These hangers are well-made and could support 8 or 12 MH or 1000w HPS bulbs without issue, but I personally wouldn't try to get any closer to the 75lb each weight restriction than that. The aluminum carabiners aren't always completely closed (the springs are fine, just the latch needs some guidance). The ratchets on one pair weren't as smooth as the others, but they still function properly.Overall, I think these are great, and I'll be buying more sets for my other MH, HPS, and fluorescent lights. You can't go wrong considering the cost and the quality.Tip: Using four per light allows you to angle the bulb very easily by raising one side; however, MH/HPS or other hot fixtures are not advised for this.

BESTVA DC Series 2000W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum Grow Lamp for Greenhouse Hydroponic Indoor Plants Veg and Flower Review:

I'm concerned because this 2k watt lamp is inexpensive and has IR and UV. Since my light meter broke, I am unsure about the light measurements. On paper, I went from 2000 Watt to 8000 Watt when I got 4 of them to replace 2 HPS 1000 Watt lights. Although it is too soon to tell, I am confident that I will save energy. On a daily energy graph, I used to consume 84 KWH per day with the lights on on 18/6, but I now use only 41 KWH. I have therefore utilized 41.2 KWH and 42.8 KWH during the past two days. So far, I've noticed a MASSIVE difference in the quantity of energy utilized. On to the lights now. I wish I had my instrument with me to check the light levels here. I'm powerless to assist on that side, but I will add that the plants have exploded! I cultivate inside in a 12 × 14 space. No CO2 burner or bags are present, yet the room's CO2 level is between 650 and 700 ppm, which is more than adequate for my medication. I have seen that while it does not penetrate as well as HPS, if you grow your harvest appropriately and use Super cropping effectively as a Fimmer or Topper, this light will work wonderfully. I therefore take great pride in recording the temperature, CO2, ppm of nutrients, and even the measurements of the plants. I have OCD, yep I am that meticulous. Therefore, after starting from seed, my plants grew 54.3 inches in 2 months, but just 2.1 inches over the past week. They have already grown 1.4 inches in 2 1/2 days since the lights were hung. Since my previous 1000 watt HPS hoods were double ended and had glass that blocked the UV and IR, I'm not sure whether this is the problem.Since my room is always set to 75 degrees and I just have a tiny 12000 BTU air conditioner on, the heat produced by these devices is VERY little in comparison to that produced by HPS and LED lighting. I used to pipe my HPS with a CFM fan out the ceiling, but I ripped it all down and installed these instead. Since the fan isn't removing CO2, the room holds CO2 much better, and it's also much simpler to regulate temperature.I am really happy with these lights so far. Yes, they are inexpensive, and I don't know how they are so inexpensive, but I have had ONLY wonderful results with them. I've changed to 12/12 and will provide additional updates on plant development and energy use.I have so far enjoyed this product and will purchase more. In a 10x10 tent with a CO2 stove, I want 8 of these. But thus far, these have been totally worthwhile!!Also, remember to purchase eyewear because these are VERY bright and harm your eyes if you don't have them. I walked in and started working without remembering to grab them, and when I exited the room, my eyes were flashing like a strobe light.

VIPARSPECTRA 2 Pair of 1/8 inch Heavy Duty Adjustable Grow Light Ratchet Rope Hanger Yoyo for Grow Light Fixtures & Gardening, 150lb Capacity Review:

These hanging ropes are fantastic. Hold enough weight to meet my needs. makes it SO much simpler for me to adjust my lighting. extremely simple to set up and utilize I tried the 2 pack on a smaller light before purchasing the 4 pack because I was so pleased with the first set. Due to how well-made they are, I only needed two out of the four I purchased for a considerably heavier light. It's definitely worth a go, and I highly doubt you'll be dissatisfied.

Barrina LED Grow Light, 144W(6 x 24W, 800W Equivalent), 2ft T8, Full Spectrum, High Output, Linkable Design, T8 Integrated Bulb+Fixture, Plant Lights for Indoor Plants, 6-Pack Review:

The reflectors were simple to install and remove, easy to move up and down or side to side depending on desired height, compact, and energy-efficient. I also liked that there weren't many wires and that there wasn't much heat production. If you're not careful, the fins will pierce your skin and draw blood. Working with this firm was a pleasure, and they will undoubtedly have a repeat customer because the product is precisely what I was searching for. I'm really satisfied with everything from the purchase process to the sending of the product. I'm grateful.

Simple Deluxe HIWKLTCLAMPLIGHTSX2 2-Pack Clamp Lamp Light with 5.5 Inch Aluminum Reflector up to 60 Watt E26 (no Bulb Included) 6 Feet 18/2 SPT-2 Cord UL Listed Review:

I have a lot of LIFX lights because I'm an artist and I need bright light all the time, even at night. However, it still wasn't enough, so I needed something that was brighter and could be moved around depending on where I needed the light. This was one of the best unplanned purchases I've ever made. I love these lights because they're so great because of how bright they are and the fact that they have the top rectangle so they can be hung for just about anything. He's an outside use them inside, and there are numerous reasons why these lights are essential. We all have different ones, but no matter what they are, the resolution will be the quality and cost of these portable bulbs!

VIPARSPECTRA UL Certified 300W LED Grow Light, with Daisy Chain, Full Spectrum Plant Growing Lights for Indoor Plants Veg and Flower Review:

Love it thus far, this brightness! I started with a Mars Hydro 300, upgraded to a Viparspectra 300, and noticed a significant improvement. However, my 24"x48"x60" tent still needed a little more coverage, so I purchased a Viparspectra 450w, which was the perfect fit. I am now returning the 300w model and replacing it with a 450w one, keeping the marshydro as a backup. In the future, I'll buy another one since I believe that three 450w units lined up sideways in a 24x48 will be ideal for complete coverage, allowing you to fill the tent to the brim with two enormous, well-trained plants that are light-hungry or a number of lesser plants.Let me be clear: Only little plants can use 2 300's because your plants will quickly outgrow them. The 450s will provide better coverage and results, and two 600s would be even better if you have the funds. No matter how you grow plants—soil, hydroponics, or otherwise—without enough light, they will never develop to their full potential. If I can get three years or more out of these inexpensive lights, they will have been well worth the money. From here, only time will tell, and I'll keep you updated as events develop.

MAXSISUN 300W LED Grow Light Reflector Panel Full Spectrum for Indoor Horticulture Greenhouse Soil Hydroponics Plants Veg and Bloom Review:

Before choosing this brand, I spent two to three weeks researching grow LED lights. At the time, there were only 11 reviews for this product, but it seemed like the right choice. The price was a little higher than that of comparable lights, but based on reviews and specifications, the build quality was slightly better, and it came with a three-year warranty. The manufacturer's packaging is sturdy, the switches are smooth and reliable, and the light is also quite bright. I promptly received the lamp. Just keep in mind that immature plants and seedlings cannot withstand the full power at a temperature below 30 "Even if the plants remain green, too much light might cause them to become stunted; here is where the dimmers come in handy. You could install a light 12 "If the seedlings are in cups, simply press them close together. With the veg light on 30% and the bloom light off, you won't be able to get the light coverage to extend much more than the size of the light itself at this distance. As the plants grow, you can raise the light and increase the veg light's power output; by week 3, you should be at 100% and 50% on the bloom light; by week's end, both lights should be at 100% and between 18 and 22 inches tall "This height will work well up to about a 28" x 22" area; however, for a larger area, it must be raised to 24"–28". At that height, you can get a 24" x 24" area, but the amount of plant-usable light will be less. This is why you need some side illumination as well for top growth and quantity at harvest. You can easily do this by placing two CFLs on either side of the tent or grow area, left and right, and two in the front or back centre, for a total of six of these. They should be 26 watt 2700k CFLs. With these lights added, the grow space can now be expanded to 36" wide by 24" deep, and the 300 watt real output (with the CFLs added) will yield more with less heat than a 250 watt HPS system. You can grow 3 to 24 plants with the additional CFLs "In addition, each is a backup to the other so that the plants won't be without light until a replacement is found. You will need to purchase the adjustable hangers. high, perhaps a little more than two to roughly the same height. Consider this, too. Your A 24" plant will need a vertical growing space of 54", so the smallest tent should be 60" high. This gives you a few inches to play with and prevents you from having to jam up the light to the top. Your plant containers will be 10" or so, so let's call it 1 foot. The light can't be closer than 15"-16" from the top of where it is being mounted like a tent because the hanging cables won't let it get closer. The light must be at least 16 I do heartily suggest this lamp.Update: I recently purchased a second light. The original one is still functioning well, and I've put this one end to end with the first one, leaving a 2-inch space between them. No longer do I need the cfls, as the entire 20 x 36-inch area is brightly and evenly lit. The combined maximum power draw is 288 watts. Using 2 of these in a sealed tent with 1 fan blowing in and 1 fan blowing out

Hydrofarm, Black FLF27D Desktop Plant Light with 27-Watt CFL Bulb Review:

With its modest size and built-in base, this Plant Grow Light is quite unusual in that you can lay a small plant on it to give it full exposure to the light. Since these lamps frequently fail when used with the "ON/OFF" switch on the lamp itself, I have my light connected to an automatic timer. You can entirely eliminate this problem and ensure years of trouble-free use by utilizing a timer. My small Palm and Pulmaria seem to enjoy it, and I placed mine on a stand such that it also provides other plants with light. A jasmine plant I had that was dying elsewhere started sprouting new growth after I placed it in the light for a few days. But heed the warning. If the plant grows too tall or goes too close to the bulbs, the light's intense heat may harm the foliage. This is the only drawback I can think of.September 12, 2018 - UPDATE The lamp is still functioning well. No mistakes! The key is right here! Set a TIMER for the lamp! DO NOT CONTROL THE LIGHT WITH THE ON/OFF SWITCH! Because the switch is poorly made, using it will result in the light failing much, much sooner. The timed method gets around the switch and has worked flawlessly for me.
