Had read a few conflicting reviews, but for the price, ordered these. As soon as they got there, I grabbed my callipers and tested each one. I am eager to use them because they are all just as they were described on the packaging. Also a nice pouch to store them in. They are unbound, which I appreciate because it allows me to stack them to acquire the precise size I need. Strongly advise these.

I ought to have purchased one of these earlier. I read the reviews, so I didn't just complain about how oily the item was when I first opened the package. Instead, I had thought ahead and was prepared to wipe it down with rubbing alcohol and paper towels. I even took the further step of disassembling it and cleaning each blade. Reassembling it requires a little patience, but once you've finished, you're ready to go.Why did it matter that it was greasy? Because I'm using it on guitars instead of car parts, and because I prefer my guitars to be free of oil in general. Your results may differ.

This is a common occurrence on Amazon items where multiple variations are shown on the same page. Additionally blended together are the reviews and Q/As. The "Size" is displayed in the reviews for verified buyers, but not in the Q/A area. I acquired the "size" that is written as 3-1/4". 26 blades range in size from 0.0015" to 0.025". Up until they are 0.003 inches apart, the spacing is 0.0005 inches; after that, it is 0.001 inches ". Despite the fact that they are marked with the mm equivalents, I would still classify this set as SAE. Since this product offers both a 0.508 and a 0.483mm feeler, I will have to make do for the time being with the 0.508. The 25 blade "size," which has pure mm spacing, is what I'll be purchasing next. Unfortunately, nothing else lists such dimensions besides the image of the thickest item, which is precisely 1.00mm in thickness without an SAE equivalent.Yes, they do arrive with some oil on them, quality-wise. It serves as corrosion protection for them. If you don't like the oil, you can always submerge it in water. They appear to be of excellent quality.Just be very cautious when answering questions about products that come in varied sizes. The outcome could be different. I received this item exactly as promised, and when I opened the box, I was glad to see that it was well-made. It's a really reliable tool and has all the features I require. This gadget is undoubtedly designed to take METRIC measurements. Each paddle has a unique MILLIMETER measurement that is conveniently translated to an inch measurement. As a result, you have lovely, typical metric measurements like 0.04mm, 0.05mm, etc. OTHER feeler gauges are designed with imperial measurements in mind, and while they work well for measuring objects in inches, they are difficult to use for metric measurements since you get results like 0.038 mm and 0.635 mm. To check the valve clearances on my Yamaha motorcycle, I purchased this. The specs I have for those clearances are listed in the metric system, therefore this tool works perfectly for that. This means that I can easily take measurements with this tool without getting any strange results.

Update: These gauges are still functioning properly for me as of August 2019. However, the ones I use frequently are very rusted. This is still acceptable for determining the spacing for my 3D printer nozzle because the corrosion is only a very thin layer. I believe it is improper for you to wipe off the copious amounts of oil that are on them. When I get a set of these in the future, I'll see if a stainless steel version is available.I bought these to calibrate the nozzle height on my 3D printer, according to the original review (using .08, .09, .1). They serve my needs perfectly, and the extra length makes them simple to use. A plastic nut and screw are used to secure them to the handle. I took out the ones I use frequently so I wouldn't have to carry the entire set around all the time. With a cheap set of digital calipers, I examined their precision, and they passed muster. I'm not sure how accurate these are for people who require more accuracy than I do.The one drawback is that they are very oily; I think this is to prevent corrosion, but it could just be a product of production. To prevent getting oil on the build surface of my printer, I wiped them off with alcohol.

Gauges of high quality spring steel that are beautifully tapered and have their edges thoroughly deburred. They would be helpful for automotive and small engine uses as well, but I will use them for measuring gaps in a variety of industrial machine applications. This set is metric with inch equivalents also engraved with laser etching on each blade. Preservative oil is applied generously when it is shipped, but you can wipe it off to reduce the amount to a more reasonable level. Individual gauges may be removed with ease thanks to the plastic thumb nut, but it is a touch flimsy and I'll probably replace it eventually.

The only set most people will typically need is this set of feeler gauges. They have a wide range of applications. They slide in and take the measurement quickly and simply; I have so far used them to set the lifter, spark plug, and points gap.Due of their flexibility, these are very simple to position in challenging to access areas. I appreciate how they can be kept in a bundle so you can quickly choose the gauge you need or you can unscrew the finger nut and take the feeler that you need out so you do not have to use the entire set.
