THINGS TO KNOW: The first thing to know is that using this product on your paint is completely safe. Before being machine washed, these rags were rinsed in solvent to remove any petroleum-based compounds. Despite numerous cleanings, a little amount of color was always leached out of the rags. The rags that leached their color were always the newest ones. Not so much the older, fading rags. I think these rags are quite new.Some may have unsightly stitch repairs. Shop rags are frequently recycled, so when they were damaged or had holes punched through them, the vendor or servicer would just sew them back together to mend the damage. Even though it wasn't attractive, the rag could still be used.I've never counted the bulk rags I've bought, but if I did and I was short some, I can return the entire order to Amazon. It would be preferable (if I have the information) to get in touch with the original vendor and ask them to send me the items they undercharged me for. Most retailers, I bet, would include a few extras.I won't worry about 5 to 10 rags if the price for the 100 pack is as inexpensive as these. I was interested to know how much these weighed. They may weigh 32 oz per dozen, in my opinion. According to the listing, 5.7 lb, or 30.4 oz per dozen, is the weight. They weighed 29.1 oz/doz when I got them (87.2 total, see photo). I then gave them three separate washes and dries without using them. The weight was now 28.3 oz./doz, and they shed a lot, just like any plush cotton towel does (85.0 total). This doesn't bother me because I long ago purchased really thick bath towels that still feel wonderful despite shedding over time.Another point of comparison are some bar mops of comparable weight that I purchased elsewhere and treated similarly. Despite weighing the same, they feel light and flimsy due to their size (16 x 19 vs. 14 x 17). Even though the loops are spread apart and they don't absorb as much, they only lose 0.2 oz. per doz.Overall, they have a thick feel and can hold a lot of liquid. I would repurchase.

After reading at first about high lint, we all washed them before using. No lint issue was apparent to me. These are kept in a basket that is used for cleaning and wiping anything that isn't particularly gross (items we don't want to wash). They are used by the weekly cleaning ladies, saving us about 2 or 3 rolls each week. I have no idea how they use so many paper towels. I wash them all and add some bleach once a week after cleaning woman day. Excellent bargain and passable rags. They are not sophisticated heavyweight hand towels; they are rags. The thickness is decent and just what I anticipated. a part of a general movement to drastically limit the amount of disposable items in our life, including all the single-use, throw-away plastic garbage that we've filled our lives with as a society.
