It was just used today, and it performed well. In the past, I've had antifreeze gauges with such tiny beads within that were challenging to read. Large disks inside of this gauge make it much simpler to read. When I was finished, I flushed it out with some distilled water in the hopes that it would stay like new for many years.

1-3/4 inch DIAL THERMOMETER
0 to 220 degree Fahrenheit

To my brand-new, comprehensive Automotive Air Conditioning Service kit, this was the ideal complement.I needed something that would truly display me the temperature that the air conditioner was producing, and this did the trick now that my truck was blowing chilly air!I like the 1-3/4" dial since it is easy to read, and....Additionally, when compared to other thermometers, it appears to be accurate and requires no calibration.Since the packaging for it had no information about calibration, I'm not even sure if it can be done! .... But once more, the temperature report appears to be accurate, perhaps off by one or two degrees. It includes a lovely sleeve that can be removed and used with or without it!,....Additionally, the sleeve has a great clip so you can attach it to the air vent of your car without worrying about it slipping out while you're checking the temperature. It measures temperatures between 0 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit! .... Additionally, it has a blue scale indicator between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit on the dial face that lets you instantly see where you are at a glance. But even though it takes 4-5 minutes for it to take a temperature reading, as other reviewers have noted, I have no problem with it at all because I can live with that portion!Although I suppose this thermometer may be useful for other things, I only got it to measure the temperature of my car's air conditioner, and that's all I'll be doing with it.Overall, though, I'm quite pleased with this dial thermometer and would strongly advise anyone who needs one to get it!Thanks FJC for your excellent A/C products! And thanks to Amazon for selling it for such a low price!

So, at first, I found it a little difficult to use, but that could have been because I was so enthusiastic that I immediately started pushing buttons. It was incredibly simple to operate and precise once I quickly read the manual and understood what I should be doing. These are used by us at work to measure how hot boards and LCD screens get. We have one that cost the business a very, very large sum of money and was advertised as the most precise and effective one available. I won't tell exactly how much we paid for it, but it was more expensive than this Klein one. And what do you know? They both work equally well side by side. This is a fantastic product from Klein, which is known for making high-quality goods. Stick with Klein instead of spending a bunch on more expensive products; you won't be let down.

Readings in Celsius and Fahrenheit
Temperature compensating tester is accurate whether coolant is hot or cold
Number of floating discs measures level of protection

This took the place of the exact tester I had purchased in the early 1980s. Even though it's smaller and less durable than the old one and no longer built in America, it nevertheless performs the same function and provides the same reading. I purchased the entire tester because the old one's bulb was rotten and this cost the same as a replacement bulb. The old bulb can be used in comparison with the new one.

In the middle of May, I purchased two of these from Amazon; both were gifts. I put them to the test against two thermometers I know to be reliable. One was perfectly precise, while the other was around 2 degrees off (the reason for deducting 1 star). Probably should have sent that one back, but I decided to keep it for myself and get another from Amazon for the gift on June 11. That one was equally correct, but the price had roughly risen in the month since the orders. For the two I initially ordered, I paid $5.89 each; for the one I ordered a month later, I paid $10.98; and today, three days after my most recent order, I see they have increased to $12. They're quite simple to read, and I adore the idea that there's no need to drive nails or drill holes! It's quite simple to mount, and they actually DO stick (wash window first). To be accurate, it must be hung away from direct sunlight, though. As a test to see whether the first two were accurate, I relocated one to a different window. At 7:30 on a morning with a temperature of 65 degrees, the sun hit the window I moved, and the temperature shot up to nearly 100 degrees. Overall, you can't go wrong, even at $12.00, assuming you have the correct "sunless" location

When I got it, it was 10 degrees off, but all it required was calibration.1. The thermometer was placed next to another one I already owned, and I left it there for a time.2. Obtain an open end 10mm wrench.3. The hex nut on the thermometer's rear should be tightened with the wrench.3. With one hand, secure the wrench. Turn the thermometer's top with the other hand until the needle indicates the proper temperature (the correct temperature is the temperature displayed on the other thermometer).4. It's challenging to turn because it's small and constrained. Before I got it correct, I had to spin it back and forth multiple times because I kept turning it too far.So far, the thermometer has been accurate. Fahrenheit is divided into the following numbered divisions: 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, and 220. There are four tick marks placed 20 degrees apart. This divides each 20-degree angle into five divisions, so each tick is equal to 4 degrees (e.g., "80", 84, 88, 92, 96, "100").I usually use this thermometer for AC reasons and just need to know whether the temperature is 20, 30, or 40 degrees, thus divisions every 4 degrees make reading the precise temperature less rapid and natural than a tick for every 5 or 10 degrees.Amazon offers the same brand thermometer with a 1.75" face for individuals who want larger text, but I chose this thermometer because of the small face.Given that the tick marks are spaced every four degrees, I've given this item a 4 instead of a 5. If the tick marks were spaced every five or ten degrees, I'd give it five stars.

Robinair Pocket Dial Thermometer
1 inch dial face reads 0 to +220 degrees F
Convenient pocket-clip carrying case protects the thermometer when not in use but keeps it handy for easy access when you need it
Perfect for checking automotive, home, or commercial A/C performance at the vent
Adjustable design ensures accuracy - simply twist thermometer face to known temperature (32F ice water works well) while holding 10 mm nut on base with a wrench
$234
I required a probe thermometer for usage in the house and to check the temperature of the A/C system in my car. The thermometer indicated 34 after 30 minutes of comparison with ice water (32 degrees). It also showed a 2 degree higher reading than my mercury thermometer. I had the same result as the Robinair when I used an infrared laser thermometer on the air conditioner. Although it is not adjustable, I can still use it if I am aware that the reading is a little high.

This was purchased for mounting on my 2002 Ranger's exterior mirror. Since this truck is a basic design, it lacks some of the contemporary technologies seen in modern cars. I have to confess that it tells me the outside temperature of the cab, which is exactly what I intended it to do. It's true that if you park in the sun, the reading will be off when you get back in the car. However, the housing has tiny openings, and as the car is moving, the air flow instantly corrects the ambient reading. For the price, it's a pretty excellent little unit.
