I adore this item! I have three daughters, and I have spent far more money getting their ears pierced at a particular pre-teen favorite jewelry store in the mall than I care to admit! Don't take their word for it when they say it's "FREE." Lol! Anyway, my oldest daughter asked me if I could make her a second hole after we bought these since she wanted one. Since I had previously worked at the aforementioned pre-teen jewelry shop while in college, I had no issues with it. I've done this at least 100 times. It was incredibly simple and not too painful. My 10-year-ears old's were also pierced when I bought a second set. You don't need to be a professional to accomplish it, even though I had done it countless times previously. It's doable by anyone. First, be sure to use alcohol to clean the earlobes! Make sure to indicate the locations of the holes on both ears before you pierce them. Don't mark and pierce one hole before moving on to the other. To check if they are equal, mark both sides and then face them directly. Make sure they are at the same height and distance from the face. Your ear lobe's middle should roughly correspond to the location of the perforations. It is probably a good idea to have the person whose body you are piercing look at it as well to ensure that it appears even to them. After that, all you have to do is load the earrings into the gun, align the earring post with the dot you marked, and squeeze the trigger. Unlike some of the earlier styles of piercing guns, this one doesn't pop. To push it through, you actually need to exert some force on your own. However, it's simpler than it seems. Avoid using too much force, but also avoid being overly mild. It shouldn't stop halfway through; you don't want that. About the same force as you would use with a stapler, I would say. Once you've gone all the way through, release the pistol gradually before pulling away from the ear. Most likely, a plastic sleeve will remain around the earring. Just remove that; everything is fine. It should be in two sections and be quite simple to separate and remove. Then, and this is very crucial, be sure to loosen the earring backs. The back of the ear is fairly tightly compressed by the piercing's pressure. When the ear begins to expand a little, this can quickly become bothersome. that is typical. Just be careful to ease off a little on the backs. After that, be sure to wipe your ears with peroxide or alcohol. It would be fantastic if you had some of the jewelry store cleaning on hand. If not, no problem. I should point out that these earrings are quite large. larger than I anticipated. A young toddler would unquestionably be unable to use them. Although they are a touch large for my 10-year-old, they are not unflatteringly large. My oldest daughter's upper hole could only fit a small portion of them. But for the first six weeks, she just put up with it. Nothing major. They are unquestionably larger than the ones in the mall!

I was able to pierce my own ears using this kit. These just have a spring to force it open rather than a spring to snap it shut. I just marked a position on my ears with a marker and was then free to pierce them at my own pace, going as swiftly or slowly as I desired to minimize pain. Let me first say that I have had piercings for a while. Professional piercers have worked on my belly button, tongue, numerous ear and cartilage piercings, as well as my nose. These were quite simple to use. It took my sister roughly three minutes to do for me. IMPORTANT ADVICE: Use a sharpie to mark the location of the holes so that they are level with your ears. A friend is a huge help with this. There were no instructions in the box whatsoever, but I went on YouTube and found a tonne of demonstrations. I deducted one star for that. This kit is excellent for anyone wishing to pierce their own nose at home, though I was apprehensive to buy it. I'm by no means a professional, but I chose to do it myself to save money after a negative professional experience with my nose. It arrived immediately and in full display. To be extra safe, I sterilized everything with alcohol. Although I was a little anxious, the needle was sharp, went in quickly, and caused very little discomfort. Although this isn't always the case, I personally felt more discomfort having it done professionally than I did myself. Although made of cheap plastic, the clamp performed absolutely nicely. The actual putting in of the nose ring was challenging. This kit included six pieces of jewelry with 18 gauge needles, but I actually bought and used a 20 gauge nose ring from Claires because I was a little worried the jewelry would be of inferior quality. However, they are essentially identical to the one from Claires. I'm glad I chose a 20 gauge because the jewelry it came with doesn't fit at the end of the needle (thus why I awarded four instead of five stars). This kit, in my opinion, is outstanding for the price. I strongly advise completing your homework before getting a nose piercing. Let me start by saying that I purchased them in order to re-pierce existing piercings. Although I have two lobe piercings in each, I haven't worn earrings in a long time. I am unable to comment on the product's real "gun" component. However, given that these aren't designed to be lasting, some of the unfavorable reviews seem to be the result of user error or hesitancy, based on my prior experience using them. The studs were excellent and ideal for my needs.Having said that Prior to use, inspect the product. I got four pistols, four studs, and only three backs. I didn't notice one was missing the back until I needed it because I was opening each one as I went along and taking them apart piece by piece. I couldn't return them for one earring back because I'd already opened and used every other part (this was on the last one I completed). Along with that, I just swapped a dress and didn't want to end up on Amazon's "do not buy" list. Disappointing.
