I'm in a good mood! We have a 200 mbps internet connection, but because my office is at the opposite end of the house from the rest of the house and there are four walls between us, I was only ever getting approximately 24 mbps with the two tiny stub antennas that protruded from the back of my PC underneath my desk.The coax-type connections at the end of the cable need be substituted for the stubs in order to properly connect this antenna.I was a little dismayed when I first connected it because the speed boost was so slight—it was just about 30 mbps. But after adjusting the two stub antennas' positions and orientations, I am now receiving roughly 80 mbps. Moving it higher, so that it is sitting on the top of my monitor stand, and arranging the two stubs so that they are horizontal and pointing in different directions were the keys for me.To get the most out of this setup, you might need to fiddle around a bit as well, but keep trying different positions—far it's superior to the antennas behind the PC that are barely above the floor.

Good product that performs as promised. To eliminate the need for external antennas or to replace any that are missing from an MSI motherboard, I have bought three sets of them for computer builds. Highly suggested. Please be aware that these are a little larger than the ones that are often included with motherboards, but this shouldn't be a problem if your motherboard's I/O is located above where your antenna ports are.

I spent a lot of money on several different well-rated brands of "packaged" MIMO flat-panel antenna assemblies that hung from a wall or were placed on a table in an attempt to improve the weak "1-bar" cell site signal that occasionally dropped to nothing in the mobile hotspot in my rural home. However, none of these assemblies significantly increased the signal strength (with one unit actually making it weaker yet).Due to the exorbitant cost of all the dual-yagi antenna assemblies I could find, I made the decision to construct my own indoor MIMO array using two of these Proxicast 11dB yagi antennas. These antennas were stacked (one over the other) on a single, 2'-long piece of 1" PVC electrical conduit, which was then epoxy-fitted into the center hole of a flat/circular 10lb barbell weight to provide a heavy, flat base and To take advantage of the higher data-rate capacity that MIMO cell sites can provide, the aluminum mounting bracket on each antenna is easily removed and then reinstalled (using the many pre-drilled holes) so the antennas can be mounted on any vertical pole in a MIMO configuration (both pointed in the same direction directly toward the nearest cell site with one antenna tilted 45 degrees left from vertical and the other tilted 45 degrees right from vertical).My previously unstable 1-bar signal was instantly transformed into a steady 4-bar signal from a cellular tower that is 3 miles away with several tall trees in between by mounting this rather unsightly indoor antenna array on top of a tall cabinet in my kitchen, pointing the antennas toward the cell site, and routing the antenna pigtails to my mobile hotspot with two pre-constructed, 10'-long, RG-58U coaxial cables (for less signal loss). In a rural area where I previously had no choice but to pay $90/month for a pitiful DSL service that barely delivered 1mbs download speed and 450kbs upload speed on its best day, I'm now getting 14-21mbs download speed and 8-10mbs upload speed, depending on the ambient internet activity and traffic load through the cell site.It is necessary to confirm that your hotspot can receive a cell site on its own before taking any form of extra antenna into consideration because it is impossible to receive a signal that doesn't exist. With a pair of these Proxicast 11dBi yagi antennas, some "shade tree engineering," and simple craftsmanship, you can put together your own setup that will be well worth your money and effort if your hotspot can connect with a cell site while "barefoot" (and is outfitted with two external MIMO antenna input connectors).

Make careful to position it using the signal strength. It's difficult to detect at first that some phones and hotspots only update the signal strength every 3 to 5 seconds. Even in the middle of the night when there is no crowding on the tower.Before, my upload speeds were occasionally below 10Mbps, but now, unless the tower is congested, they are seldom that slow. Now usually around 20. I get closer to 30Mbps up with load balancing. I saw a 10ms improvement in my ping times. From the router, I receive 37 ms.I'm around 3 miles from a tower, but there are acres of dense, virtually solid forests between me and it. Last year, I paid $79.95 for the spypoint booster, only to have a bear eat the wire and waste my investment. At 15.99, I chose to give this one a try. For a far lower cost, it does the same thing as spypoint. A $3.00 adaptor, which is all that is required to use, is easily accessible locally or online. You must understand that neither this booster nor the one sold by Spypoint will display more than one additional bar on your camera. The cameras' capacity to convey photographs will rise. I placed mine in a spot where I was initially unable to connect to a tower but eventually did. The camera will occasionally skip a transmission but finally send the photographs. I'm happy because I place a lot of importance on where I position my camera. I purchased two more since I was so thrilled. Three for $48 as opposed to a spypoint's $80 price tag!

A review that was written a while after regular use: The only Verizon Tower nearby is around 5 miles to the east of where I reside, which is in a very rural region. The next one is thirty miles away. I have this setup attached to my Verizon Jetpack 6620L MiFi [which is my only method of connecting to the internet] on a shelf near my ceiling with a jar lid stuck to the antenna's magnetic base, with the antenna lying on its side and pointed out towards a window in the direction of the VZ Tower.I was only getting a couple of bars of coverage and -90 to -70 dBm signal strength on my Verizon Jetpack MiFi 6620L before using this.Now that I am consistently getting 4 bars and an increase in signal strength from -60 to -30, I can play web videos without constantly stalling and losing connection. (Remember that the reading for the dBm Signal Strength minus number should be as low as feasible because zero is the ideal.)Since I discovered the ideal direction toward the VZ Tower, I have additionally gently taped the Antenna Female connector down to the Jetpack Male post and do not move it (based upon the dBm readings my Jetpack provides).Definitely worth the cost and, if you have a VZ Tower, or more of them, closer to you than I do, will likely give you readings of Signal Strength that are even better.PLEASE NOTE: This product IS NOT INTENDED FOR MOBILE OR OUTDOOR USE!The magnetic base of the antenna is NOT to be used on top of a moving vehicle; it is there to stick to a piece of iron metal to help boost your signal strength!This product, which is lightweight and should be used indoors, will improve WiFi-based MiFi and/or cell phone reception.
