fantastic stuff A quick story: I repaired a broken wire outside using one of these. Obviously, the first rain led to some corrosion and severed the connection. I attempted to clean the wire contacts but it was ineffective. I made the decision to open it up and take a look inside since my curiosity got the better of me. I swung a hammer at it in the hope that it would shatter the shell open without my worrying that I would ruin it. The shell clamps did not break and the device opened up because of how well it was manufactured. The circuit board was wire-brushed, put back together, and it functioned flawlessly. The obvious recommendation would be to wrap it in plastic wrap and electrical tape if you plan to use it outside. Ha!

I checked each coupler for faults after receiving them. Each pair passed the test, and the connectors are all safely locked. The included RJ45 connectors for the couplers were worthless. I experienced numerous copper conductors coming loose from the RJ45 connectors. It wasn't a major concern because I got them for the couplers and could buy connections nearby. Just make sure you have backup connectors ready in case.

In order to take advantage of our ATT fiber internet, which gives me 980 mbps/990 mbps down/up speeds when directly connected via LAN to my ASUS ac-5300 router—which you absolutely need to be on the sending end of the maximized wifi speed project—I climbed the low-value ladder of the available WiFi adapters on the market today. I tried NetGear's best initially, but the 500/500 speeds it provided me with left me terribly underwhelmed. I then chose the ASUS ac1900, which offered me only 400/400 Mbps or slower speeds. So when I upgraded to the ac5300 router out of aggravation, I was again let down by the same speeds. I switched to an ASUS USB-AC68 adapter after that, which once more gave me 400/400 speeds but rarely went up to 500mbps. I finally took the plunge and purchased these PCIe-based WiFi Adapters, which I painstakingly put into my motherboard. A difference, FINALLY. I was experiencing download and upload speeds of 800 /800 . To fit into my wife's PC (who doesn't particularly like or care about it), I purchased a second one.In the past year, I've discovered that ATT fiber occasionally throttles. It's also possible that as more neighbors in my cul-de-sac purchase ATT fiber, my speeds are automatically throttled. Regardless, my speeds have typically slowed to 500/500s again, though they can still occasionally reach 750/700 speeds.My recommendation is to enjoy your gigafiber internet without being fixated on the speeds. Your speeds will be fine at roughly 500/500 as long as you have a decent wifi adapter, such the ASUS USB-AC68, and excellent wifi router, like the ASUS AC3100. I doubt you need it any quicker than 500/500 unless you're a high-production video streaming firm or a wealthy professional player. That is the maximum that GigaFiber connections will relyably provide over time. Direct connected LAN connections to your PCs are the best option if you need quicker speeds (hire an electrician, or DIY as a weekend project).To give you an idea of what to expect, I've included screenshots of my most recent speedtest conducted with one of these PCIe AC88 wifi cards and an ASUS ac5300 router, as well as the fastest rates I've ever experienced with this card.

4/5 on the first day. Simple, compact, and useful extension. The OSX install still functions on MacOS High Sierra, however it does require a reboot and security elevation. Additionally, I placed my order at 11:50 AM and received it before 7 PM, earning Amazon Prime one star.I used a Nighthawk 1900 AC with a poor connection and performed the following actions:1. facilitated my ability to connect where my 2015 MBP was unable to do so at 1300 Mbps2. increased the throughput in my basement from 30 Mbps to 210 Mbps (partially because of the hike in rate of the 5Ghz connection)3. gave me a second, respectable GUI for my WiFi connection.Device is of a good size... The four antenna may probably be placed in the elastic pen holders seen in travel backpacks because they are so easy to take out.Even though I still want to connect it to my USB 3.0 hub and stress test it in additional demanding software developer circumstances, I'm doing great so far. I'll update this if it improves or worsens, but for me, the lack of jitter in video calls was worthwhile.
