My 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid's sway bar links were both replaced. Every time I overcame a bump, it would make a terrible thumping sound. The originals had extremely small ball ends and were quite light in weight. It makes sense that they would wear out at about 95,000 miles. Ball joints and boot seals were in poor condition.Since they are far more durable, I believe they will last for a very long time.The threaded ends are a little bit longer than the originals, thus you might need to move the steering to allow adequate space for installation on the top side. Make sure your car is supported properly. I had to make a little right turn on the driver's side and a left turn on the passenger side. To prevent the ball joints from rotating while tightening the lock nuts, I used an 18mm open end wrench. The lock nuts on the new ones were 15mm while those on the originals were 9/16ths.Don't forget to lubricate these after installation at both ends, either two or three times.

Arrived on time and according to plan. Time will tell how well they endure, but considering the price, there is absolutely no downside. Because of my location in the Northeast and the fact that the hex key stud was already stripped away, removing the existing linkages wasn't really enjoyable. However, the new links went on really simply. I only wish they had a usable zerk fitting, but I was aware of this when I ordered them.

I did get authentic AC Delco components in a box that was factory sealed. These are better than the factory, largely non-metallic links that came with my truck (which broke after about 50k miles). These links with metal sheaths are not just substantially superior than factory components; they also cost only about a third as much.But there was one twist. When tightening the top and bottom, as another reviewer noted, the force didn't appear to be distributed equally throughout the link. As I circled the block in the truck, I realized I needed to tighten again. Both times, I tightened up until a bushing began to protrude excessively. Then, a few weeks later, when I looked, everything was disorganized. Once more, I tightened, watched it closely, and after another week, I needed to tighten just a little bit more. They have now been operating normally for some months.I initially believed the lock nut was backing off, but it simply took a few attempts to get everything properly tightened. After the first few of days, I'm sure I was driving about with it loose and didn't realize it until a few weeks later.

I actually had them fitted within an hour after delivery, making it one of the simplest fixes I have ever completed. For this repair, the vendor demanded $100; I repaired it myself for $7.My 2009 Tahoe's front end started to squeak, and I was very certain that it was the sway bar end links. A quick glance under the car verified my suspicions; the rubber bushings were worn out (and some were missing), and the washers were rattling on the bolt.Even though I didn't even need to jack the car up to remove the old ones, I did need to do so slightly enough that I could fit the final bushing and new nut.To reach the driver's side, fully turn the wheel to the right. To access the passenger side, fully turn the wheel to the left. As an FYI, the new ones are 14MM, whereas the previous ones are 15MM. The new ones have a little different style and appear to be superior (more metal, less plastic)Five stars, high-quality item at a great price, shipped by Amazon in less than two days (purchased on Friday evening, received Sunday! ), and incredibly simple to install.Oh, and I live in Arizona so the old ones were really simple to remove; but, if you live somewhere with a lot of road salt, you will probably need to use a hacksaw to cut the old ones off. Even so, it should be very simple.

I just put these in last weekend and so far I'm really happy with them. I also changed the bushings on the stabilizer, often known as the sway bar. The usual elastomeric bushings are much improved by the thermoplastic bushings. These are comparable to polyurethane bushings, with the exception that they are said to not require any lubricant to prevent squeaking. I sprayed a small amount of high temperature silicone oil, which helps with assembly even if it isn't necessary to prevent squeaking, because I didn't want to take the danger of having them squeak. The bolts could use some lengthening, that's the only thing I have to comment about. Since they are about a quarter inch shorter than the OEM end link bolts, it was necessary to almost completely loosen the stabilizer bushings before beginning to thread the nuts on. Everything went smoothly once they got going. The bolts were tightened up until around seven threads were visible. They shouldn't back off because the nuts are oval-type lock nuts. Although the preload felt adequate and the bushings were fully seated when I started everything, I definitely could have tightened them more. If I discover that they need to be adjusted in the future, I'll update this.

These were installed on my single-cab, 2.3L, 2004 Ford Ranger with a 112" WB. I was essentially only operating with the passenger side sway bar link intact because one of the older ones had cracked and the bolt head had sheared off. The older ones were difficult to remove, but with a little persistence they came off in bits. It is simpler to break the bottom nut off because the rust and deterioration will prevent it from screwing off. These new ones continued and lasted only ten minutes each. Since the bolts are long enough to do the task without removing the sway bar, I did not require a bar either. I took it for a test drive, and the improvement is astounding. No more popping or rattling sounds as I turn at an angle. Due to their wear, I am also replacing both lower ball joints.
