Product seems comparable to AC Delco and other brands. After this sensor was changed, the check engine light was switched off for a limited period of time before the oil pressure spiked to 80 psi and engine codes with excessive sensor voltage reappeared. Mechanically verifying the oil pressure and using a multimeter to check the source voltage both revealed no issues as normal; nevertheless, this is just my best guess. It turns out that I may have recurved a faulty oil pressure sensor. All is perfect now that AC Delco was replaced.Funny enough, I had experienced the same problem with a genuine AC Delco sensor on an older vehicle, and the initial repair came from AC Delco but failed miserably. Accidents sometimes happen, but overall I'd feel confident trying this product again in the future.

The kit appears to be a wonderful kit, but I can't use it because it didn't include the fittings I require. The supply line on Pontiac 2.4 engines is a 3/8 quick disconnect. At this stage, doing a fuel pressure test is advised. There are adapter hoses in the kit for 5/8 and 5/16 threads, but none for 3/8, and there are no parts there that I can use to make it work. To see if I can make it work that way, I'm going to get some threaded 3/8 fast disconnect adapters. If the threads are correct, it ought to. I'll change my review to reflect this.Update: I was able to connect the gauge to my Grand Am using the OTC GM 3/8 fuel line fittings that I got here on Amazon. Despite the fittings' high cost, I was unable to find anything else that would work. I attempted to use fittings that were allegedly 3/8 screw on on one end (also purchased on this site), but the threads didn't line up with anything in this kit. The gauge worked flawlessly once it was connected, which enabled me to identify the issue (low fuel pressure). Thus, you might need to purchase additional fittings if you plan to use this kit for a GM car.

It is regrettable that the unit failed 48 hours after installation.Today, I'm investing in a new sender in the hopes that it will perform as intended.October 14, 2016 - Update I discovered the micro-orifice in the failed unit had been blocked by a tiny teflon tape particle after replacing it. Teflon tape served as a thread sealer for me. I have to admit that I was the user that made this mistake. My review has been updated to a 5 (very happy). The original sender will be kept by me as a backup.16 October 2016 - Update The replacement device again failed. Uninstalling the sender unit revealed that there were tiny pieces of teflon tape blocking the micro-orifice. I used the micro-orifice as a reference point when I bored a 1/8 in. hole in the sender unit. I then connected the sender unit to a 30 psi air compressor in order to test it. The readings for electrical resistance ranged from 0 to 200 ohms. Finally, after being fully installed in the automobile, the gauge displayed an accurate reading of oil pressure ranging from 25 to 75 psi. As a result of the additional labor needed to get the unit to function properly, I am now rating it a 4. To help other readers whose sender units have failed, I'm providing this. My little experience suggests that in order to reduce field failures, the factory orifice diameter needs to be raised.

The gauge is attractive and functional. I'm now experiencing electrical problems that are resulting in erroneous readings, but I think the problem is with my wiring rather than the gauge itself. It doesn't have a dimming option, is a little light at night, and refreshes the value just once every second, so it doesn't feel as fluid or real-time as a needle gauge.The cause of my reading difficulties was actually the ground. Check your engine to body ground if you purchase this gauge and experience weird or low readings. This gauge could read weirdly if there are bottlenecks here. Other than that, everything functions flawlessly.After using it for a few days, the nighttime brightness doesn't seem to be a problem.Edit: This gauge has stopped working for me after several months of use. In the sending unit, I do think there is a wiring problem.

Excellent product for the money, and the installation is simple with the guidance supplied. Like many others, my transmitting unit failed after a few months, however Bosch offers a one-year warranty on them. Call 800-228-7667 to speak with customer care. I have a sending unit being sent to me with 2-day shipping in a matter of hours. One drawback is that the light is on a circuit board, so unless you have extra time and talent, you're basically of stuck with the off-white incandescent look. However, considering how much gauge costs, why bother?
