Can a car run without a blower motor?

A car's blower motor is responsible for circulating air through the vehicle's interior. Although the motor is not essential for the car to run, it is necessary for comfortable operation of the air conditioning and heating system. Without the blower motor, air would not circulate and the temperature inside the car would be either too hot or too cold.

Do all blower motors have a reset button?

Most blower motors will have a reset button, however there are some that do not. If your blower motor does not have a reset button, you can try resetting it by unplugging the unit for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. If this does not work, you may need to replace the blower motor.

Do blower motors get weak?

Blower motors don't typically get weak, but they can fail. When they fail, it's usually because the bearings have gone bad. The bearings allow the blower motor to spin, and when they fail, the motor can't spin. This can happen because of a lack of lubrication, or because the bearings are worn out.

How do I know if it's my blower motor or resistor?

There are a few ways to tell if it's your blower motor or resistor that's causing the problem. One way is to see if the blower motor is getting power. Another way is to check the resistance of the blower motor. If the resistance is high, then it's most likely the blower motor. If the resistance is low, then it's most likely the resistor.

Due to the price difference between this item and an original equipment piece, I was first hesitant to buy, but I decided to take a chance because there was no way to know whether a slightly more expensive item would perform better or worse. Arrived fast, and even if you've never replaced this before, anyone could complete the installation! I'm sure you can! The process is really simple.

My fan blower for my 2002 Suburban was ordered, and it came two days later. It's ideal. was quite easy to install, and I'm overjoyed. I have air conditioning once more, and God knows we need air conditioning in Georgia.

HVAC Blower Motor Resistor - Fits Ford Expedition, Escape, F150, F250, F350 Super Duty, Mustang, Lincoln Mark LT, Mercury Mariner Replaces 3F2Z-18591-AA, YH-1715 - Year 2004-2017 Models and More Review:

This component was bought for my 2005 Ford F150 XLT 4dr. It's time to take action because the blower hasn't worked on the first speed setting since I got it years ago, and now the second speed stopped working as well. When I used to watch technicians work on my truck, they were never the cleanest or most delicate in their repairs, which frequently resulted in me cursing at them and having to clean up and fix everything after them. This is a straightforward adjustment, and I'm confident that the money saved outweighs the 8 minutes required. Release the glove compartment's right side hinge, and it will swing down and out of the way. By gripping the clip and yanking the connector away, you can detach the wiring harness from the resistor. The 2 screws can be removed with an 8mm socket. A wiring harness running directly by the right screw made it difficult to remove it; with the help of my third hand, I was able to do it. Finally, it was removed, and even with my ape-like hands, plugging in and reconnecting the new one was simple enough. There are videos on YouTube that are useful. I probably saved $60 to $90, and I'll take on more of these tasks because I seem to be more skilled than the purported specialists.

Dorman 973-426 Blower Motor Resistor Kit Review:

I only gave it 4 stars since this is the second one I have purchased in the past year. I'm not sure if it's the Durango (2003) or the product, but it's probably the car (crappy dodge design). Overall though, it installed quite quickly and fit perfectly. To remove the old one, you'll need to bend and shorten the wires slightly (they are far too long). Additionally, a tiny tab needs to be broken off before installation (there are instructions for that, so read first). I used some removable connectors rather than the permanent crimp on ones that come with it as this is the second one I've gone through (maybe the third given I had a heat issue a few years ago that someone else corrected). If anyone else is interested in the ones I used, here is a link. Hilitchi 100-piece set of 12-10-gauge insulated male-female bullet quick splice connectors (12-10AWG)

HVAC Blower Motor Fan Resistor Kit and Harness for Manual AC Controls- Replaces 22807122, 15305077, 973-409 - Fits Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Avalanche, Silverado, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Yukon, XL 1999-2007 Review:

On my 2000 GMC Siera 1500, speeds 1 and 2 did not function prior to the installation of the fan. Afterward, all speeds functioned as they should. Getting to and releasing the connection to the fan was a little challenging. Other than that, everything went smoothly. Overall, the resister and cabin filters took around 2 hours to install, which is about right considering that you have to remove the under dash and motor cover for both.

ACDelco 15-80173 Professional Heating and Air Conditioning Blower Motor Review:

My 2002 Chevy Astro van was the perfect fit for this blower motor. I do advise anyone who has to replace a blower motor to do so. Since I had only one speed before I replaced this motor, I also changed the resistor pack. I do advise keeping some spare vacuum hose tubes on hand to swap out any that start to dry rot. While you are replacing these, they will break. Simply removing the reservoirs for washer fluid and coolant is all that is required to replace this motor. After that, cut open the motor casing and unclamp the coolant pipes. The motor is removed after a few screws. Without taking the wheel out of the motor, I was able to remove it. After that, insert the replacement motor and wheel. After putting everything back together, enjoy your van's heat or air conditioning. Wishing you success with your repair.

When the component is installed, there is hardly any airflow coming from the air vents. When the blower was taken apart, it was discovered that the fan and motor were rotating counterclockwise. I unplugged the connector and reversed the direction of the two electrical wires by moving them. The blower assembly was restored, and it operates flawlessly. I'm happy with the product overall, save from that one problem. Excellent value for the money.
