I'm always using these retainers for something. They are made of plastic, and the most have screw bases. My husband snapped a few of the clips holding the door panel in place when installing door speakers in my van. You'll require one of these to finish the job if you're changing a front axle or CV boot on a Toyota. The original nut, a twelve-pointed 30mm staked to the axle, requires that you either push up the shoulder's bent-down portion or remove it entirely with a dremel tool. If you have some small punches or chisels, you can probably get away with using those instead of the specialized equipment they sell to pry the pinned shoulder up. Unless the axle needs to be replaced and you don't care about harming the threads, don't remove the nut without first prying up the distorted shoulder. The only drawback to this nut is that it requires a different size socket to reinstall it. I had to buy the 30mm twelve point socket to remove the original nut as it is uncommon for an impact socket to be anything other than six point. If you have a 1 1/4" or 32mm impact socket you're ready to go.

I must again give it to Beck Arnley. I required a number of parts to repair the suspension on a Prelude with a BB6 chassis. Normally, I only purchase OEM components when fitment and quality are serious concerns. With every Beck Arnley component I've purchased, I've been pleasantly surprised. The fit is great, and the quality is on par with OEM. The best part is that these cost only 1/4 as much as aftermarket bolts and OEM axle nuts. I will never purchase the generic or universal-fit components that my neighbourhood parts store stocks. The Beck Arnley parts are equally inexpensive and of OEM calibre.
