Best Automotive Performance Ram Air Kit in 2022

Last update: December 29, 2022

At what speed does ram air work?

Ram air is most effective at high speeds, where the air is moving quickly and can easily fill the intake. The faster the air moves, the more pressure it has, and the more air can be forced into the engine. This can increase power by providing more oxygen for combustion.

Can a cold air intake mess up your engine?

Do you need a tune after installing a cold air intake?

Does a cold air intake increase mpg?

A cold air intake is said to increase mpg by allowing the engine to run more efficiently. Cold air is denser than warm air, so it contains more oxygen. This allows the engine to burn fuel more efficiently, resulting in better fuel economy.

fantastic addition I recently bought this fantastic cool air intake for my 2012 Dodge Challenger SXT Plus. I installed it in approximately thirty minutes. Most likely as a result of the instructions I downloaded as I awaited for two-day shipping. (Sorry, I was excited.) The directions could have been better thought out but you get the idea. Very simple installation. When I turned on my car for the first time after the installation, I heard the exhaust growl a little bit louder. A shift, albeit not a significant one. As I proceeded down the street, I began to hear the gear-shifting whine that many people claim to hear. It disappeared a day or two later. I kept going and stepped on the gas (or I tune it out). The exhaust sound became significantly louder. predominantly between 4,000 and 6,000 rpms. The engine also made a loud roaring noise. This intake truly gives it a V8-like sound. key phrase MORE The disparity between the two is still substantial. The acceleration has a noticeable pep about it as well. About a full second has been removed from my 0-60 time.I've seen higher highway gas mileage in the five days since the installation. I'm now getting 28 to 31 mpg. I was getting 25–28 mpg. I'm a big driver. Given the mileage I put on it, I definitely shouldn't own a challenger, but I adore this vehicle. Invest the cash and purchase this item. You won't regret doing it.

K&N Cold Air Intake Kit with Washable Air Filter: 2012-2019 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8, Black HDPE Tube with Red Oiled Filter, 63-9036 Review:

I made the decision to go out and purchase this intake even though I was aware that it wouldn't actually improve performance—the majority don't. While it does lessen air flow constraints, the air is not compressed. It takes two days with Prime to come, and when I go to install it, the installation of the mounting points and heat shield takes approximately 15 minutes longer than it should. Please, for the love of God, pre-organize the hardware into designated cardboard packs or baggies. Now let's move on to installing the heat shield. The instructions direct you to mount the shield into the lower factory holes, but they make no mention of the side mounting bracket's requirement to share a hole inside the fender, which was incredibly difficult to access without removing the plastic trim and panel between the hood and the wipers. It's uncomfortable to try to fit your hand and head between the hood lift piston and the hood. Therefore, just because of this one mounting point, installation proved difficult. In spite of this, it causes my truck to rumble at low throttle and completely ROAR at high throttle! Even so, it was well worth the cost of the intake and the hassle of installation! Just pure ROAR—no check engine lights, strange running, nothing! I can't answer for it yet because increased fuel economy isn't anticipated when you have your foot on the ground all the time!

K&N Cold Air Intake Kit with Washable Air Filter: 2012-2019 Toyota Tundra 5.7L V8, Polished Metal Finish with Red Oiled Filter, 77-9036KP Review:

simple installation The installation of the kit takes roughly 35 minutes. The directions were quite straightforward. There was only one small problem with the ground wire attachment place, and it was quickly resolved. The installation of the filter was fairly simple. My torque, or at least how I felt behind the wheel, had increased significantly. I didn't dyno my Tundra to be sure, but I was able to detect the change immediately. Just driving around the city, my MPG increased from approximately 12.5 ave to about 14.5 ave. The maximum highway/freeway MPG is around 20.5 ave.All in all, I'm extremely pleased with this product and would heartily endorse it for a quick, enjoyable installation that produced some fantastic changes in my truck's performance! Love how the "throaty" SOUND has improved!

aFe TR-3008P Takeda Cold Air Intake System Review:

The 2007 G35S Sedan (V36) that I'm using this intake on is fully stock, as opposed to the G37 coupe that this intake is intended for. There are no modifications necessary for the passenger side to fit. The provided intake coupler on the driver side is a little difficult because it is simply too short. The G35/37 forums will inform you that you require a 5/8 crankcase hose that is more flexible than the one Takeda provides. As a result, I purchased both a Spectre intake coupler and a more flexible 5/8 hose from my neighborhood auto parts store, but I later discovered that I was completely without need for the 5/8 hose. The longer coupler gave the intake hose on Takeda enough flexibility to fit into the crankcase pipe. The offered instructions are thorough and simple to follow. A frame for your license plate and a ton of stickers and decals were also provided by Takeda. I'm referring to around 15 stickers.I only purchased the intakes for their incredible sound. They are hardly audible below 3000 RPMs, but after that the loudness slams you like a brick wall. Although I didn't run a proper dyno, my butt dyno suggests that the torque may have been slightly enhanced. Additionally, my car had an average MPG of 9.7 for a week after I installed the intakes, but I'm positive it was caused by my foot. These are an absolute must given the price and free Prime deliveries.

Spectre Performance Air Intake Kit with Washable Air Filter: 2013-2018 Dodge Ram 1500, 3.6L V6, Red Oiled Filter with Polished Aluminum Tube, SPE-9016 Review:

I'm really happy with the results because they were fitted on my 2014 Dodge Ram 3.6L easily and they significantly increased the sound of the six cylinders while driving on the highway.

If the tiny hose clamp had been included, I would have rated it five stars. Sorry, missing parts do not count as a five-star rating, however the purchase was quite simple. The directions might use some more specificity. The hardest aspect of the installation procedure was looking at some low-res photographs and expecting us to know what they label each element. But once I understood how everything interacted, it all made sense, and the installation turned out to be rather attractive.Otherwise, on my Charger SXT AWD, the intake dramatically improved the engine's responsiveness at lower RPMs. At higher RPMs, I really enjoy the sound as well:D

Banks 42766 Monster Ram Intake System with Boost Tube Review:

More air volume is always preferable to stock. I prefer something that isn't crimson. Vehicle is blue. Right now, I'm unable to provide helpful criticism. A new turbo is coming.

Don't spend your money on brand names when this input is all you need and is well worth it. I previously had a Spectre intake on my 2006 GMC Sierra Denali and it performed admirably. Now that I have a somewhat used car that lacks a CAI, I decided to purchase another Spectre. It was totally worth it!For instance, when my car is moving at least 20 mph or more, the air entering is running at a temperature that is about 5 degrees F higher than the outside temperature, which is an improvement over the 10 degrees my stock intake would reach in the same situation (the outside temperature was at least 90-95 degrees on a sunny day in Texas). more throttle response as well. MPG improvement unknown at this time. I'll need to take a few averages over the course of the months to determine whether or not I am seeing a little gain.Regarding my degree calculation of the CAI compared to stock intake, the 2015 Challenger features numerous temperature sensors in the dash, including one for the temperature of the air entering the engine. I therefore don't try to make assertions without supporting evidence. Thanks!

Does a hood scoop add horsepower?

A hood scoop does not actually add horsepower to a vehicle. The purpose of a hood scoop is to bring in more air to the engine, which can help increase power.

Does ram air add horsepower?

Ram air is a technique used to force air into an engine. The air is forced into the engine by a scoop or duct, which is usually attached to the front of the car. The air is then compressed by the engine, which increases the amount of power the engine produces. Ram air can add horsepower to an engine, but it is not a surefire way to increase power. The amount of power an engine produces is determined by many factors, such as the engine's displacement, compression ratio, and camshaft design. The type of fuel used and the way the engine

Does ram air make a difference?

Ram air is a term used to describe the process of using the forward motion of a vehicle to force air into the intake of an engine. The air is forced into the engine at a higher than atmospheric pressure, providing a denser charge of oxygen to the cylinders. The increased oxygen density can result in a significant power increase. In order to take advantage of ram air, an engine must be designed with an intake that can take advantage of the higher pressure. Ram air has been used on a variety of vehicles, from motorcycles to race cars. It has been shown to provide a power

How much horsepower does a hood scoop add?

A hood scoop can add an extra 12 to 15 horsepower to your engine. It does this by forcing more air into your engine, which means more power.

How much HP does ram intake add?

Adding more RAM to a computer system generally adds more HP. The reason for this is that RAM is used to store data and instructions for the CPU to access quickly. The more RAM a computer has, the more data and instructions the CPU can access quickly, which generally results in faster performance.

Is a closed cold air intake better than an open one?

A closed cold air intake is designed to draw air from outside the engine bay, away from the heat of the engine. An open cold air intake is less effective at drawing in cool air, as it is exposed to the heat of the engine. Closed cold air intakes are therefore considered more effective than open cold air intakes.
