XS Power D3400 XS Series 12V 3,300 Amp AGM High Output Battery with M6 Terminal Bolt Review:

Although I just received this product yesterday, thus far it is performing as expected. In a 2005 Buick Lesabre, one of these was installed in lieu of the original battery to replace it (underneath the rear seat). I also used the stock wiring, so there were no large 3, no big wires running to the back (I'm not sure about the size of the stock wires, but it appears they were not even 4 gauge). I just bought this and the side post terminal I-bar adapter 551. Nothing else has yet been bought for the installation of this battery. While it was time to replace the OEM battery, I was aware that acquiring another inexpensive battery would not work because I was still using roughly 2000 watts of power when I was running a Rockford Fosgate T20001bd @ 2 ohms. At that point, I decided to just go for it and stop worrying about needing another battery soon.My automobile has been starting to crank much more slowly than usual since the weather has turned colder. My old battery's capacity was just 12.4 volts, according to my examination. It seemed like it would take a lot longer to crank my automobile once it had cooled down.Prior to purchasing this battery, the voltage would drop from 15 volts to as low as 12.2 volts when I played songs with extended bottom notes. I have not observed it drop below 12.8 with this new battery. At least from what I have observed so far in the limited amount of testing I have done, it typically maintains 13.2-13.8 on the majority of songs with a heavy rhythm. Not only that, but I can now hear specific details through my speakers! It never occurred to me that additional power would make things sound better!

Odyssey 65-PC1750T Automotive and LTV Battery Review:

For my 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty's 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, I bought two of them. The possibilities for these engines, which require a lot of cranking force, are becoming more limited with time. High Cold Cranking Amp (CCA) batteries have historically had good options, however neither the Motorcraft BSD-65 (900 CCA) nor the Motorcraft BXT-65-850 (850 CCA), which I most recently owned, are anymore. Odyssey-like products were formerly sold by Sears under the name Sears Die Hard Platinum AGM (absorbed glass mat), which was produced by the same manufacturer Enersys. The AGM with the lowest level was a Sears Gold AGM, however it had only 775 CCA. Although it would still start, I don't enjoy tinkering with things like this. Since most people don't require them, I believe the "big" brands don't find it profitable to sell high cranking batteries. To achieve the cranking I wanted, I had to go a little higher end; enter the Odyssey 65-PC1750T. These beasts have 950 CCA, which is higher than the long-gone, desired, and scarce Motorcraft BSD-65. They are MONSTERS.AGM, or Absorbed Glass Matt, is fantastic! Never again do you need to check the electrolyte level; no leaking, venting, etc. These batteries are both a "sprinter" (high burst cranking) and a "long distance runner," and they manage that well in my truck as well (capable of deep discharging and re-charging). Both types of batteries are the majority.Although these are pricey, you get what you pay for. really high caliber. massive cranking Just look at those bad bastards' weight: SIXTY POUNDS of pure lead. For my use, other batteries like the Optima Red Top weigh roughly 38 pounds.

Optima Batteries 8010-044 6V RedTop Starting Battery Review:

I bought this battery to fit a 6 volt system on a 1931 Ford.Had been using old-style wet cells, and I'd always disliked having to check the levels and other things all the time. appeared to be quite delicate. Overcharging causes it to boil out. If you let it fall too far, it's toast. No thanks. In a more recent Jeep, I installed an Optima red top battery, and I have been VERY delighted with it. So, I was happy to discover that Optima also offered a battery for the old Ford when it required a new 6 volt battery. When I needed one, Amazon had the greatest pricing available ($115 SHIPPED!!) and I quickly placed my order. The battery was sent packaged in an expandable foam container within a sturdy cardboard box. arrived without a scratch and was VERY neatly packaged. I was also taken aback to learn that it was only a few weeks old when it was manufactured. Pleasant and new! Some misunderstanding as to where it was produced. On the battery's case, it states "Made in the USA," but there was a tacky sticker that said "Made in Mexico" on top. Well, that was simple; I simply took the sticker off, and presto! American made. The stock batteries are a pain in the neck (and back, arms, hands, etc.) to replace, and the Ford Model A battery tray is located under the driver's side floorboard. The Optima battery fits in the tray with plenty of room to spare despite being significantly lighter and smaller than the original batteries. In actuality, there was far too much room. To hold it on the tray and prevent it from slipping out of the automobile, a fix had to be found. Finally decided to purchase the attractive bracket offered from Brattons specifically designed for attaching Optima batteries in Model A vehicles. The car starts easily off the Optima battery. Anyone who has heard a 6 volt car start up is familiar with the laborious sounding cranking pace. The car starts virtually like a 12 volt vehicle thanks to the Optima 6 volt battery! You can even start the car with the lights on, and it truly has no issue at all doing so.There is a significant difference right there between the 800 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) claimed by the Optima and the 600 CCA claimed by the standard battery. Odd considering how much smaller the Optima is than flooded batteries. The Optima battery is without a doubt the best improvement made to the old car so far. Worth every single penny and more. You won't have to worry about whether the automobile will start anymore. One less concern to have!

Odyssey PC680 Battery Review:

My BMW K1600GTL's OEM battery, which was five years old, needed to be replaced, so I ordered this Odyssey PC680 Extreme Series Battery. On different BMW sites, this Odyssey PC680 battery received a ton of positive feedback. After receiving it, I put it on a Battery Tender for 24 hours, and it took a full charge without any problems. It was made THIS MONTH, thus it is NOT an item that is out of stock. It fit perfectly and fitted into the BMW battery container. For installation in a BMW motorbike, you will need the Odyssey L Terminal Adapters, which were packaged with the battery. Excellent touch! I've included a picture of how it fits in my BMW. Please take note that this is NOT the PC680MJ version with the metal jacket, which reportedly cannot fit in the factory BMW battery case due to its bigger size.

Optima Batteries 8014-045 D34/78 YellowTop Dual Purpose Battery Review:

No battery lasts forever, but whenever one of them dies, I replace it with another Optima because they have always outlasted the warranty, there is NEVER any acid mess, and you can mount them at any location. I've used them exclusively for 15 years, and I currently have 4 of them in use, all yellow tops. One of them is 9 years old and still checks out with my battery load tester.

Optima Batteries 8002-002 34 RedTop Starting Battery Review:

This battery is currently 237.00, as I can see. Wow! It's my first type like this, and I paid 168.00 last July, so I enjoy it. What I don't like is that after not driving for a week, we had three straight days with just 30 degree temperatures before it started pouring once more. I went outside to start my pickup when I saw it was completely dead. I've purchased batteries before, but this one is the priciest. The inexpensive item in the truck survived the entire winter the previous year. Then, I got four months of snow, but so far this year, none. Battery seems great, but I'm not yet impressed. After being left unused for a week or being briefly exposed to 30 degrees, new batteries shouldn't fail. Thank goodness, my neighbor's charger worked for an hour to charge it. Now since I don't trust this dumb device, I must purchase a charger.

Odyssey PC925 Automotive and LTV Battery Review:

My 2013 Polaris Ranger 800 Crew's stock battery was replaced with this one after four years. The "Check Engine" and "Power Steering" lights were flashing sporadically, it was starting to grow weak, and it was starting slowly. With this battery, slow starts and electrical gremlins are no longer an issue. I particularly appreciate the reserve capacity and the freedom from having to worry about starting the engine when we stop riding for a while and turn on the stereo. fantastic batteryP.S. It's great that I can place the batteries in any orientation, including sideways.

Optima Batteries 8016-103 D34M BlueTop Starting and Deep Cycle Marine Battery Review:

So far, so good; I'll update later to see if it holds up to an all-day fish. Much lighter than a Walmart battery.Revised 4/20/16 used this for eight hours on a 52-pound Minn Kota. I was worried that it wouldn't start my 25 hp motor because of the wind and used it very hard, thinking it would run down before I left the lake. My trolling motor had a gauge to check the battery reserve at the end of the day, and it said 3/4 full. That is impossible, so I used another battery checker, and it too said 3/4 full. If this is accurate, which I believe it to be, then this battery will be the last I ever own. Finally, I've found something lightweight that I can carry from the boat and use to get me through the day. If anything changes, I'll let you know.Revision 5/3/16. Okay, I had it out for 11 hours and used it vigorously. It displayed 12.2 volts, and a check with a meter revealed a 1/2 charge remaining. I'll provide an update in a year5/1/17 Okay, I purchased a larger boat with a foot-controlled trolling motor that is older. From 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, we pretty much worked nonstop while fishing. Battery died after around 11 hours. Even though I'm still content, if I could go back in time, I'd get the D31M. It has 75 ah. That would be sufficient to get the day going. Just an idea. Purchasing the 31 will not cost much more. My friend has owned a 31 for maybe six or seven years. Still working flawlessly.

Optima Batteries 8022-091 75/25 RedTop Starting Battery Review:

Even while I like the twin terminal capability, mine failed after 23 months—well inside the warranty—which is unfortunate. I followed all of Optima's recharge instructions, but my 1984 Ramcharger still wouldn't start (or even turn) on. I contacted Amazon Customer Service through chat to seek resolution in accordance with the guidelines in the Optima warranty (which I obtained from the Amazon website) and the statement on the product's Amazon page. The first agent insisted that I speak with Optima; as a result, the chat crashed and I was unable to respond or request a supervisor. I was able to copy/paste the chat into a new effort to resolve because I checked the "give me an email transcript" button. The second attempt, which was made after the first one was unsuccessful, put me in touch with a supervisor (Nikki), who gave me a refund in the form of an Amazon Gift Card. It took about an hour of work and frustration, but it was worthwhile. I would have been quite disappointed with the whole process if Nikki with Amazon had not fixed the problem. Thanks to Amazon, there are people who have the power to handle problems that don't fall under the typical 30-day return policy. Be tenacious!

Can a new battery increase horsepower?

If your car is more than a few years old, a new battery can indeed increase horsepower. The reason has to do with the chemistry of the battery, and how it interacts with the car's electrical system. As batteries age, the chemicals inside them break down. This can cause the battery to put out less power than it did when it was new. That means the car's electrical system isn't getting the full power it needs to run all the accessories and systems. Replacing an old battery with a new one can therefore give your car a bit of a power boost

Lead-acid batteries are the most common type of battery, but they don't last as long as the other two types. Nickel-metal-hydride batteries last longer than lead-acid batteries, but they're more expensive. Lithium-ion batteries are the most expensive, but they last the longest.
