The day it arrived, I used it. helped me remove a bearing from a pinion shaft (dimensions: 43X90X30) without destroying the roller cage. There may be a 2mm gap between the pinion and the bearing, which is a fairly tight tolerance. Without damaging the cage, I was unable to remove my old divider. If the bearing is just being replaced, it is irrelevant if it was destroyed. However, a decent instrument like this is important when the only option is to reuse a reliable bearing. If the cage continues to spin while you press out the separator, you're good. If not, I would still advise you to readjust numerous times during removal. I haven't owned it very long, so I can't really comment on longevity.

I'd purchase it once more.This is a reliable machine that can accommodate bearings in a variety of widths and thicknesses. I advise performing a thorough first cleaning of the bearing using kerosene or something comparable as a final rinse, then letting it air dry. This will get rid of the dirty grease that eventually gets into the fresh, new grease in the packer's base or cup.I saw a reference to using a vice, but since the packer is made of plastic, if too much pressure is applied it could break without warning, so I would not try that. The process of squeezing the new grease into the bearing was easy, but a bit slow (and during summer temps), but was helped by placing a 25# bag of #6 lead shot on the top for added force.In less than 15 minutes (not counting the initial cleaning) using this technique, 4 front bearings were repacked, using only a few ounces of grease. The remaining grease was then simply stored by placing the packer's lid on it, making it ready for use without having to be refilled.OMT: You might want to purchase at least that much grease because this base can contain a full 16 ounces of it.

I had to get my car's front wheel bearing replaced, and since I anticipated that the other would follow soon after, purchasing the tool made sense. Although there is a loaner available at the local parts stores, this kit provides more possibilities and a stronger bolt than those offered by those other stores, which would have required a 250 deposit to begin with. I was able to do the task quickly because to this one. When watching videos on how to use these kits, the majority of them called for a 27mm socket for the bolt; however, this kit called for a 32mm socket and the bolt is a sizable, sturdy one. To make it easier for the washers to spin against one another, I made sure to oil the threads and added some grease in between the two washers. With the choices they offer, finding a plate that fit wasn't difficult.The only drawback I encountered was that the pin holding the box to the casing had broken off due to significant handling abuse. When I contacted Astro, they not only responded to me within a few hours but also sent me a replacement clip that had been upgraded to include a metal pin. Because of the excellent customer service provided by the company and the knowledge that it even cares enough to update situations when there is a clear problem, the little drawback of the delivery, which they have no control over, has been totally offset.Also, don't be shocked if the post office kicks the box around; it is quite hefty and built of materials that are rather sturdy. The HF is 25.00 more when it is on sale and it isn't as good a set, so that is the only thing about this kit that truly surprises me.

Works flawlessly on gears, tiny to medium-sized pulleys, and bearings, among other mechanical parts. It has a decent selection of adapters and extensions, which is pretty much everything you'll need to do most tasks. It also comes with a beautiful, robust case that is superior to those that are included with the majority of other tools in this price range. You get what you paid for, I know many of you would be saying, and I tend to agree for the most part, but this particular tool set is without a doubt the exception. I can't think of anything about this product that I disliked. I originally bought this at Harbor Freight and later saw it here for roughly $15 more. To harbor freights 4, this one had 10 bits. I therefore bought this one and gave the old one back.This helped me take two bearings out of my transfer case. the bearing from which the transfer case's shift lever emerges and another that was stuck inside the case with no other way out.Excellent and simple to use. I only used the extractor puller and not the slide hammer at all.Excellent product; I'd buy it again, but I already have one. Lol

Before purchasing, take sure to properly inspect your dent if you plan to use this as a dent-puller. Verify the size, texture, depth, and shape of your dent. As long as your situation meets the conditions I mention, it's a very good tool. Its construction is solid, and the suction mechanism works easily and well. It has a 4.75" diameter suction pad on it, which means you need at least 5 inches of flat and smooth surface area (in all directions) for it to grab. If your dent doesn't have this, it won't work. I have to imagine this is the cause of most (or all) of the one-star reviews on here,

Before purchasing, take sure to properly inspect your dent if you plan to use this as a dent-puller. Verify the size, texture, depth, and shape of your dent. It won't work if your dent doesn't have at least 5 inches of level, smooth surface area (in all directions) because the suction pad on this has a diameter of 4.75". I have to assume that this, not a flawed product, is the reason for the most (if not all) of the one-star ratings on this site. It's a great tool if your circumstance satisfies the requirements I provide. The suction mechanism operates smoothly and effectively, and the structure is sturdy.
