My 80-pound lab mix, who adores this bed, immediately trotted over to lie down as soon as the foam cushion was placed on the floor.Very easy to put together, and I certainly advocate doing as the directions say and inserting the foam cushion as soon as possible before it has a chance to fully inflate. There is little possibility of the dog's nails snagging or tearing on the cover because it fits tightly around the cushion and "head rests". My enormous dog, who is a taller lab mix, as you can see in the picture, has more than enough room, even with his legs fully stretched.The memory foam pad had an odor when it was first opened, like with all memory foam pads. The smell, in my opinion, vanished after approximately two to three days and is no longer detectable.Since Buddy is 12.5 years old, he is an expert napper and he loves his new bed.
