There is some debate over whether or not fish are happier with plants in their tanks. Some believe that the plants help to create a more natural environment for the fish and make them feel more comfortable. Others believe that the plants can actually stress the fish out and make them less happy. Ultimately, it is up to the fish keeper to decide what is best for their fish and what will make them the happiest.
You can, but it's not recommended. Aquarium plants need nutrients and light to thrive, and gravel can block both of those things from getting to the roots. Plus, it's harder to clean gravel than it is to clean other types of aquarium substrates.
Yes, you can put aquarium plants in sand. The sand will provide a natural look for your aquarium and the plants will help to keep the water clean and clear.
Aquariums need real plants because they provide oxygen and help to keep the water clean. Plants also add beauty to the aquarium and make it look more natural.

In my fish tank, these plants look just stunning. I frequently get remarks on my tank's beauty. My focal point is this potted plant. incredibly realistic and lovely colour. In them, my fish enjoy hiding. They are now inside my 20-gallon tall tank. I believe I'll order a second set for my 55 gallon. They exhibit a lifelike aspect due to the slight swaying they exhibit in the current.

So I placed my order for these, and then, wow, the following day, they arrived! The size of the package startled me because I had assumed it contained only 8 little plants. When I opened it, I discovered a wonderful assortment of artificial plants within, ranging in size from very little to very enormous. The plants come in a wide range of designs and colors, and the bases are very durable. A nice variety of textures are there, some of which are more rigid and others which are extremely flowing and delicate and move with the water. I quickly took out my filthy, awful, plain green ones and replaced them with these vibrant ones. They have significantly lightened my tank, and my fish and snails adore them. There are so many that I can wash half of them now and the other half later. Great deal and love, many thanks. I would have likely spent more than $100 on these eight goods at PetSmart or a similar store.

I wasn't too fond of this when I first added it to my tank. The hue, in my opinion, was excessively vibrant and light and appeared false.I had two excellent artificial plants that cost a staggering $40 each before making this purchase, and they were really gorgeous. I received many praises on them and I loved them so much. People believed them to be real. I was forced to replace my favorite plants after two years because they started to deteriorate and turned my water green. I spent hours searching online in an attempt to find the same ones, but I was unable. I finally decided on this bamboo. Finding artificial plants that reach the top is difficult because my tank is just 3 feet tall. Except for this one, I honestly couldn't find any 3 foot tall, natural-looking plants on Amazon. So in the end, it was the bamboo's size that convinced me to buy it.Currently, it has been in my tank for about two weeks. I believe that my first dislike was influenced by my comparison to my previous plants, which I kept on a pedestal. But when the bamboo settled, I grew to appreciate it. I've grown to like it. I think the bright hue seems more natural, and the height is fantastic. My cichlid tank is 3 feet tall, as I previously mentioned, and the bamboo not only reaches the top but is also long enough for the tips to sort of drift there, which I like.I don't like the anchor, which is the only thing I can say negatively about this plant. It is frequently uprooted by the current or fish swimming through it because it isn't weighted and doesn't seem natural, and when that happens, the base that is visible is an awkwardly shaped piece of plastic that is meant to be hidden by the gravel or sand.I'll keep seeking for the company that produced my previous plants. However, this bamboo is excellent in the interim. It is also a fantastic bargain given the pricing. They aren't as shallow as I am, but my fish adore it.

I needed some artificial plants for a 65-gallon tank that I just built up. I searched and discovered these were offered for a reasonable price. I wanted a mix of shorter and taller plants. Since they don't look unduly phony like many less priced aquarium plants do, I was happy with them when they arrived. They should appear even better when they accumulate algae in the tank and other materials. I included arrows pointing at a handful of the 10 pack in the image (all the short plants in the photo are the ones that came in the package). When I need more in the future for any more tank layouts, I will without a doubt order more.

What a beautiful plant! As you can see, I placed it in the center of my 55-gallon tank, right in front of my heater. My fish really enjoy it; they can frequently be seen swimming among the leaves and even resting on the leaves and branches with my orange mollies.I buried the base a little and added a few medium-sized river boulders nearby, but nothing on top. The base is well-weighted, and the roots sticking out provide a little more realism. When I took it out of the packet, I noticed that the leaves needed to be turned around on the stems in order to fill it out and arrange them how you like it. There was no wire visible, and the leaves have good color on top and bottom, just as you would anticipate from a real plant. The detail is excellent all around. It now looks as fresh as new after I scrubbed it clean with the faucet and gave it a hand wash in a salt solution.I will definitely be looking at this firm for further goods, perhaps something a little fuller and in the 14"–18" range.

It illuminated my 20-gallon tank and had a vivid color. The fact that there isn't glue above the plants (glue is dangerous for fish) astonished me because there are so many similar goods on the market that contain glue. The product had a faint plastic scent when I first received it. Although the smell is not fantastic, I cleaned the plant several times in clean water and let it soak in it for a day before placing it in my tank. They do admirably now.

For "the product as it is depicted and described," I am rating this product 5 stars. I include that warning since, based on the reviews and what I personally received, it appears that there is some variation in what is really received. I note that several reviewers received one of the following: 1) a similar color variation, but plants that were 10 to 12 inches tall (about twice as big as indicated); 2) all purple; or 3) all purple, 10 to 12 inch plants. I only got one plant, around 6" tall, the red-and-green one in the upper left corner of the product photo. I complained to Amazon, and they sent a whole new set of six, which, in my opinion, closely match the product photo. As usual, Amazon provides excellent customer support. From what I gather, the confusion arises because they must 'order' the items from an affiliate vendor. See the front and back of the received package in the attached images. With the merchandise as received, we are pleased. Compared to buying from PetSmart or other retail establishments, they are far less expensive and of higher quality for the price. Given that they are shorter and do well in our 55 gallon tank, we employed them as a "front line" along with other plants from the same vendor or manufacturer. They don't appear as bright or neon as they do in the picture, which I believe is a good thing because it makes them appear more "natural" despite their garish hues. See the picture below.Overall, I thought the plants were of good quality and a fantastic price, and I would definitely buy them again.

The cost is reasonable. Petsmart demanded absurd rates for incredibly artificial-looking plants. The leaves on this one (on the right) were not attached. They needed to be pushed back into their proper places. Although it was effective, this wasn't my favorite. I adore the 16-inch Java Fern to the left, which is from the same firm. The 45 gallon tank I have simply fits better.

For my turtle tank, I purchased this 8-pack of artificial aquarium plants.I like that my turtle isn't attempting to rip things apart because it gave the tank a much more natural feel. The color looks extremely natural, and I'm impressed by how skillfully the gradient is executed. The plant's false root system at the base adds a lovely finishing touch.Although it is a touch light, the base is relatively heavy for the price. Just be certain to deeply bury it in the gravel. On the base's bottom, there is a tiny hole. If necessary, perhaps it will assist secure the plant. It's a good thing that this pack has two different styles if you want to keep the tank from seeming cluttered and draw attention away from your pet.The same vendor offers a comparable listing for a few dollars more, depending on how many you need and the look you want:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K9QLPW8/ref=psdc 2975453011 t3 B07MD8N1K3Nevertheless, for less than a dollar per plant, this is a fantastic value.
No, fish do not like fake plants. Fake plants are made of materials that are not natural to fish, and as a result, fish do not recognize them as food. Additionally, fake plants can release chemicals into the water that are harmful to fish.
It's a common question among aquarium enthusiasts – do fish prefer live plants? While there isn't a definitive answer, there are some factors to consider that may sway your fish's preference. Live plants can provide your fish with important nutrients that are not found in artificial plants. They also produce oxygen and help to filter the water in your aquarium. These benefits can lead to healthier, happier fish. That said, live plants also require more care than artificial plants. They need to be trimmed and fertilized regularly, and they are susceptible to pests and disease. If you don't
Yes, algae can grow on fake plants. Algae need light and nutrients to grow, and fake plants can provide both of these things. The main difference between algae on fake plants and algae on real plants is that fake plants are made of non-porous materials, so the algae can't penetrate the plant's surface and get the nutrients it needs to grow.
If you want your aquarium to look natural, there are a few things you can do. First, choose plants that are native to your area. This will make your aquarium look more like a natural habitat. Second, use rocks and driftwood to create a natural looking landscape. Finally, make sure your fish are compatible with each other and their environment. By following these tips, you can create a natural looking aquarium that will be the envy of your friends.
To clean plastic aquarium decorations, remove them from the tank and rinse them off with warm water. Use a soft bristled brush to scrub away any algae or build-up. Rinse the decorations off with clean water before returning them to the tank.
You can sterilize fake aquarium plants by boiling them in water for about 10 minutes. You can also soak them in a bleach solution for about 30 minutes.
