No, rabbit and guinea pig hutches are not the same. A guinea pig hutch is smaller and has less space for the animal to move around. A rabbit hutch is larger and has more space for the animal to move around.
Guinea pigs are very sensitive to temperature changes and should not be kept outside in winter. They are also susceptible to frostbite, so it is important to keep them warm and dry.
Yes, you can leave your rabbit in a cage at night. Rabbits are relatively low-maintenance pets, and as long as they have food, water, and a comfortable place to sleep, they will be fine.
No, you cannot use a rabbit hutch for a guinea pig. A guinea pig needs a much larger space than a rabbit hutch can provide. Additionally, guinea pigs are social animals and need to be around other guinea pigs or they will become depressed.

This arrived earlier than anticipated (8/7-8/15, delivered 8/6) and was packaged carefully with no breakage or missing components, which made me happy.Although I did make some alterations (added screening to the metal mesh to keep out insects, skipped adding the bottom mesh to protect guinea pig feet), putting it together by myself was simple. The wood is really soft, so soft that I was able to staple my screen material with a standard stapler, to name a few things. As a result, it is simple to modify (for example, by putting additional screws under the housing component to increase stability), but I am concerned about how long it will last outside.I agree with what other people said regarding the hurried paint job. You can see people's finger prints from touching/smearing wet paint because the job was rushed, despite the fact that I went over all the components and applied a weather protectant before putting it together. Check all of your mesh because there were two additional areas where the wire mesh had protruded. It is very pointed.Cleaning is challenging. It requires considerable bending to access every area because the doors are all so little. The clear cover will have hinges added to make it simpler to access, but with the amount of bedding that most outside animals require, I don't think the litter pan will be much use either.Last but not least, I saw that a few drips of water seemed to "absorb" on the roof rather than dripping off. As it is asphalt, that is the one area I didn't waterproof, but I believe I will now need to. (As a test, I sealed the top dark portion with roof sealant; the water there beaded up well.)Overall, I think it's a cute tiny cage, but guinea pigs and rabbits may not live in it very long, and regular-sized chickens won't fit in it unless you use it only for one at night. Because of how fragile the wood is, it won't withstand chewing at all. If you're concerned about bigger predators or dogs getting into it, I'd recommend purchasing it because one leap from a medium-sized or large dog will break it. Though most cats, foxes, etc., will probably be discouraged. We'll see how it goes as I haven't yet received any rain!

Purchased this for our two general practitioners, who are pleased with it. The space and layout allow them many alternatives for movement, and the ramp is simple for them to use. Yes, you must put the cage together, but it only took me about 20 minutes to do so. To allow the pigs to enter and exit the side door, I chose not to use the legs. Cleaning is made soooo much simpler with the slide-out litter pan. All is well thus far. I will update this review if anything changes, but for now, five stars.

Normally, I don't like to write reviews, but I ADORE this. I spent a little more money than I did on this hutch when I bought a different one for my rabbit back in February, but he destroyed that one pretty quickly and needed a new one. When I chose this one, I anticipated the same general situation—something I would need to replace almost immediately—but I was drawn to the fully enclosed setup rather than the open bottom of the other because I keep my rabbit inside and wanted to keep him off the carpet. It is quite dissimilar to what I anticipated. Construction was quite simple and took less than a half-hour. The caged portions are made of a heavier wire that he won't be able to chew through, and the entire thing is made of STURDY wooden pieces that fit together well. In contrast to the other option, the inside gives him a TON of space, and more importantly, I can access him from anywhere inside the enclosure if I need to! I think this is the main lure because of the three front doors and the HINGING open roof. Furthermore, when compared to other options, this one has a pull-out dropping tray on EVERY level and a very sturdy ramp with a vertical door to block off the bottom, effectively preventing him from being able to rip the dividing door off like he did with the previous one.Which ignores the fact that this item is utterly adorable and blends into the decor better than his previous hutch. Of course, the most significant factor is that he loves the item and hasn't even once tried to gnaw on it. Completely pleased with this purchase!

Confusion in the instructions, but we managed. The assembly process took around 45 minutes, and since the drill wasn't charged, we used a standard screwdriver. A few minor wood flaws, a small chip here and there, and it was a touch shaky. You should unpack the green roof cautiously since some of the asphalt granules will fall off because it is simply visually appealing. Our two female guinea pigs are using it. They are learning how to use the ramp to travel up and down; we might build a railing for them to prevent them from attempting to jump off. The fir wood is alluring to guinea pigs that enjoy chewing, as humans do. In order to prevent the piggies from destroying the cage, we bought self-adhesive vinyl tiles and cut them to suit the inside corners of the cage where they are gnawing. Since buying the correct size wasn't an option, we manufactured our own fleece liners to meet the special dimensions of the cage. For cleaning, trays slip in and out easily. We took about a week to bring our women in because the wood has a very strong chemical odor when you first get it. The two solid doors in the front are the only thing I'm considering replacing because the cage feels dark to me and we prefer to be able to see our females without opening the doors. We might modify the two doors from solid to barred ones because they appear to be simple to disassemble. Overall, we are content with the acquisition.

I provided feedback for this product. Those complaints had merit. I bought this item for my two six-week-old lion head rabbits, and they seem content with it. I assembled the item by myself, without assistance. I basically made it work using the images. The DrawbacksThe product's nails were rusted. The split wood was scattered about.Instable wiring is present. The animals do gnaw on the wood, so it would be wonderful if it had been coated before being bought to stop them from doing so and to make it more weather-resistant.Incapable of cleaning the cage without removing the rabbits. The cage's color and design are appealing to me.I like that it rolls and brakes (easy for moving the cage without upsetting the animals and to clean under it).I appreciate that it has two levels since the bunnies can play in lots of space. The cage is stored inside, in my room. Therefore, it saves space. The doors on both floors and the opening at the top are nice.On both floors of the cage, there is a bed, food, drink, and litter boxes. So, while not ideal, it serves our needs. They have a hay feeder installed to the first floor, water bottles on both floors, and a metal feeder (for oats and pellets) that I had to cut the wires to fit. Once put together, the cage was more durable, however it is definitely NOT an acceptable cage for outside.Their answer:Hello KaiseWe greatly appreciate your kind advice, which really does help us out!The DrawbacksThe product's nails were rusted. In future items, we'll switch the metal fitting's supplier and use stainless steel. The letters did not match the item that they were supposed to be. This will be relayed to the production team so they can adjust. The split wood was scattered about. We will make packing improvements.Instable wiring is present. We'll see if we can use wiring that is more robust. The animals do gnaw on the wood, so it would be wonderful if it had been coated before being bought to stop them from doing so and to make it more weather-resistant. That's a really good idea! Thanks a lot!Incapable of cleaning the cage without removing the rabbits. Yes, we have already made an improvement by adding a door from the first to the second floor, allowing the rabbit to lock on one of the floors when the tray has to be cleaned. The family is kept awake while playing by the sound of the rabbit's nails scratching on the floor. You might want to trim the rabbit's nails or use something like a cushion. We appreciate your help and promise to improve.AivituvinsSummerI got a speedy answer from the vendor, and I believe they took the initiative to fix any mistakes. I was aware that I would be making some alterations based on the evaluations I read before purchasing this hutch. I started by caulking the hutch's base all the way around. Although I had read that pee would flow through, I haven't experienced any problems. The next thing I did was go to Petco and purchase an extra-large litter box, cutting one of the sides off so my rabbit could readily access its hiding place. There is barely any room left in the open space because that litter box fills it completely. I purchased the extra-tall litter box to help with hay and excrement being thrown out by my messy bunny (there is also a little litter box inside the big box). It has performed flawlessly. Because I can just remove the large litter box and clean it, cleaning his cage is also really simple at this point. The hutch's pull-out metal sheet bottom is excellent, but this is more simpler and cleaner. It somewhat detracts from the hutch's beauty, but it's not really that horrible or obvious.

I'll start by saying that I am thrilled with the cage I bought. My medium-sized rabbit can fit in it with little problem, and she really likes the enclosed top portion. It was simple enough to put together with just one person. The instructions were good, although I did make two mistakes. Looking at how the holes line up, it was simple to fix. The wheels for this cage were one aspect I did not like. Due to the poor quality of the wood underneath, one of them broke off. Finding alternative ways to put them on or looking into better ways to secure them is what I would advise. Others might not experience this problem, however it did so soon after I put mine on.The cage feels really strong, and the color is just like the photo. The flat top half is perfect for supporting my turtle cage, which I placed on it. Also very nice and making it simple to access the lower region are the pull-out cleaning trays.I'm still satisfied with this cage and would suggest it!

For now, I'm giving this product five stars because it looks to be a fantastic product for my needs thus far. However, it won't be the best option for everyone, and for my own use, I do have a few reservations about it. I'll elaborate. These playpens came in 2 orders from me. (With the accompanying connectors, they CAN be connected to each other to increase the length, but they CANNOT be stacked on top of each other to increase the height.) They are being used by me to make a play area for my two bunnies. Each rabbit weighs about 4 lbs when it is fully developed. Each playpen included a small wooden mallet, 24 connectors, and 12 panels. Nothing was damaged upon arrival, and everything was in excellent condition. The panels themselves are made of plastic that has been wound around a "wire" frame. I refer to it as "wire" because it doesn't appear to be made of metal but rather a heavier plastic that does bend under pressure. I have no doubt that the frame would break if there was a lot of pressure. The panel is made of a clear to slightly translucent plastic that is exceedingly flexible. It strongly reminds me of the hefty page protectors you can purchase from office supply stores. If you put ANY pressure on it, it WILL bend, and if you put enough pressure (or claws) on it, it can permanently bend, crack, or shred. Fortunately, none of these problems apply to me because my bunnies rarely lean against objects. The panels themselves are quite tiny, probably less than a quarter of an inch broad. I had trouble determining the size of each panel while reading the description and previous reviews, which is really crucial to me because I am working with a very small, oddly shaped region. Each panel I received measures 19 7/8" x 27 3/4 when measured along the margins where the frame is strongest. The middle proportions are actually closer to 19 1/2" x 27 1/2" since the frame, which appears to be plastic, dips somewhat in the middle of each side. This small change might not be important to you. The fact that the connectors add a 3/8" gap between two panels at the top and bottom, but that this gap is closer to 5/8" in the centre due to the frame's dip, is more worrying and might make a difference. This may be crucial for anyone working with small animals that could squeeze through the gap or gnaw on it. If you have other pets outside the pen, they might try to stick their paws, tongues, etc. through the opening, which could be a problem. Just some food for thought. The pen is fairly solid and tough to tip over once it is put together in a stable configuration (such as a closed square, etc.), but it does slide around on hard flooring. The panels just slide into the connectors to construct the pen extremely quickly. When assembling, DON'T PUSH HARD ON THE CONNECTORS, OR THE PANEL FRAME WILL BREAK. In case you need to gently tap the connections a few times to get them correctly inserted, I presume this is why the mallet is given. I haven't had to do that, though. Everything has been simple for me to put on and has stayed put. And it's convenient that disconnecting the panels is made simple by how readily the connectors come out. When cleaning, traveling, or reconfiguring the pen, this is the ideal time to disassemble it. Each panel of the pen weighs only 12 1/2 oz, making the entire thing lightweight. So, the total weight of the pen, which consists of 12 panels, 24 connectors, and the mallet, is little under 10 lbs.Regarding some of the other queries I have read, this playpen has no floor and no top cover. Additionally, any shape may be created with it as long as the angles are 90 degrees (right). Therefore, no circles or diagonals. This would likely include a kitten, puppy, or extremely little dog. I think it would depend on how strong and active your pet is. This would be OK if you had a litter of very young kittens or pups or a tiny, older dog that is good with boundaries. This WILL NOT work if you have a four-month-old lab puppy who is reasonably strong and always jumps on things and tries to escape. In addition, I would use it under constant supervision if you want to use it with larger small animals like rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and possibly rats or ferrets until you know how your pet will behave within and whether or not it would chew on the enclosure or try to escape. Mice, hamsters, gerbils, and other small critters are NOT suitable for this, since I don't think it could hold them. The only two issues with this playpen and how I plan to use it personally are that I intend to use it to contain two rabbits, one of whom is a big chewer.

Our rabbit hutch was just delivered to me today. I'm thrilled with the hutch thus far. So far, it appears to be made of quality materials and is fairly durable. It was fairly simple to put together; I finished by myself in about an hour, and even though I'm the type to become easily annoyed when putting things together or connecting things, I had NO PROBLEMS. Even though it claims to be weatherproof, I went a step further and sealed it with a "clear" (kennel safe) sealer to provide it even more protection since it will be outdoors. After a few months of use, I'll provide an update, but so far, I'm pleased with the product.
Guinea pigs are clean animals and they groom themselves regularly. However, they may need a bath from time to time, especially if they get dirty or if they have an oily coat. You should only use shampoo made specifically for guinea pigs, as other shampoos may be too harsh for their skin. Be sure to rinse the shampoo off completely and towel dry your guinea pig afterwards.
A small pen can hold a few animals. The size of the pen will determine how many animals can be inside. If the pen is too small, the animals may become agitated and stressed.
A hutch should be off the ground for two main reasons: to keep the rabbits out of reach of predators, and to protect them from the elements. By having the hutch elevated, you can also provide your rabbits with a better view of their surroundings.
Most guinea pigs are nocturnal, meaning they sleep during the day and are awake at night. Because of this, many guinea pig owners choose to cover their cages at night to help their pets sleep. There are a few different ways to do this, such as using a blanket or towel, or buying a cage cover specifically designed for guinea pigs.
