When it comes to the contents of my aquariums, I'm a pretty "anal-retentive" person. I never add anything that isn't "natural." All-natural gravel, inert rocks, and actual plants. My wife and I, however, are HUGE SpongeBob fans, and this was the only merchandise from that show that I would let her persuade me to buy.It's not too horrible, really. Although it is unnatural, it has just enough of a "Easter Island" Moai statue appearance to pass for natural.I did include a picture of it up top.We had the ideal location for it—directly in front of the heater so that it partially conceals the heater and elevated on a tier.It does have a colour that gives the impression that it belongs underwater. I'm confident that it will appear much more natural once algae start to grow on it.Earlier reviewers were accurate. The mouth and eye holes are very poorly completed, and your fish may experience troubles as a result of the harsh edges. I took the time to sand the inside of the mouth's borders down, and I used a rat-tail file to finish the inside of the eyes. Although the bottom was far worse, I was not concerned about them because I knew I would be sinking it somewhat into the gravel.Although the fish appear to enjoy it, it is still too early to tell whether they will swim in and out of it.You can see in the photo I've posted that my Bloodfin Tetras are swimming right by it without any problems.I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm genuinely pleased that I chose to purchase a synthetic component for my Tetra tank!

I gave it four stars because of the interior painting. But back off the edges! I'm sorry, NOT FOR ME! Look Everyone has not gone out to get a package that contains a faulty or defective item. This log is awesome! It's realistic without appearing cheap or out of the ordinary. There are many apertures, and my betta adores it! He hangs out there and spends a lot of time looking through the openings. A fantastic deal for a fantastic item. Additionally, it's the ideal size for a betta aquarium. It fits comfortably and neatly inside my 3-gallon tank. I am so pleased with my purchase that I want to buy 2 more for my other tanks. I wish I could upload pictures, but I'm afraid I can't. This artificial ornament looks more lifelike than most others, but it is still obvious that it is phony. Although there are some tiny, sharp edges from manufacture, I simply ground them off a little to make it look brand new. I thought the packaging was rather lovely. Styrofoam was used to wrap the root, which was then placed in a box, which was then placed inside of yet another box, this one filled with packing paper to prevent it from sliding about.Since Mondo is just 10 to 12 inches long, it can be very challenging to find items that are designed for fish of his size. We recently decided to attempt a more "natural" looking aquarium for him to try in an effort to make him a happier fish. I used to have 12" and 15" clay pots in his aquarium with holes on the sides for him to use as caves. For the purpose that we got it for him, this is a fantastic complement.On to the cost. I believe the price of $32.18, which is what I paid, is a little high. But in my opinion, practically all aquarium decorations are excessively expensive. I'd say the price I'd rather pay for something like this is $20. However, as I've already said, it makes Mondo happy, so I'm content to spend the nearly $33 on it.UPDATE 16 MONTHS LATER!Mondo still adores this accent piece! If you don't maintain your aquarium or if water gets caught inside of it, it does have a tendency to smell bad. The decoration should be submerged underwater upside down, in my opinion, to allow the air to escape. Shake it around once you believe all of the air has been released to confirm this. Take your decoration outside, let it air dry completely, and then try what I recommended if it starts to smell.My fish seem to adore this ornament in general. Everyone is thrilled that we have now expanded to include two additional Red Devils and a Texas!

As other reviewers have noted, this decoration does draw any filth or scum in the tank because the anemone behaves like a magnet. The anemone will rapidly get filthy if you overfeed your fish or have algae in the aquarium. Keep your water clean and clear if you want this design to last. You must perform weekly or biweekly water changes and you should also rinse the filter cartridge. This is, in my opinion, the best approach to guarantee that your aquarium and decorations look their best.After several tries, I've discovered that the most effective method for cleaning this anemone is... Every two weeks, I remove mine from the tank, soak it (ONLY USE DAWN), and then give it a thorough scrub with a two-sided sponge. It is not recommended to immerse the anemone overnight. The smell of the decoration will still be present, but it is more due to the manufacturing process. When finished, rinse it with cold water and put it back in the tank.Use just dawn, please. Other dish soaps are hazardous to fish and should never, ever be used to clean anything you intend to keep in your tank.

a wonderful addition to our fish tank. They fit well in our tank because I purchased the medium size. You can loop the string through a hole with a small, detachable plastic component rather than having to tie it again if the line becomes slack. If they ever become twisted, this is a convenient function. I just tied the additional strings that were longer than necessary around the top of the plastic suction piece. Suction cups appear to be very safe.

I simply adore these driftwood pieces, which I bought to build up a new tank. They arrived swiftly and my new planted tank looks wonderful with them.I cooked them for around 4 hours altogether to get rid of the tannins; each time the heated water turned black, I would probably start over with fresh water. I changed the water one last time after the last boil before letting the pieces soak for a few days. When you're ready to put the pieces in your tank, this will also help to ensure that they can sink rather than float.Make sure you do this step first unless you want your tank water to resemble tea. Even though it could take some time, the correct preparation work was well worth it, and the pieces look fantastic in my new tank. I moved the pieces around a lot before I was happy with how they looked. I need to cycle the tank now so I can add fish.
