Among the nicest pumps I've ever owned, I adore this one since it works so well. Because it was so strong, the water did not flow out in a continuous stream as it does now but rather with great force. I just got a trickle of water with my dead old pump. I have kept a pleasant flow even after turning the flow back to a very low setting. The adapters didn't fit my tubing, which was the only issue I had, but after a trip to the hardware shop, I was able to buy one for $1.50, and it now functions well. You should also insert a smaller adaptor into the ones that are included with the pump, in my opinion. I'm quite happy with my buy.

With little around five hours' notice, I had to fly to San Francisco. The friend who looked after my dogs and aquarium was unable to arrive before I departed. Additionally, I ran out of time to leave my aquarium's directions. I polish using a 100-micron water pad (highly recommend, on Amazon). They didn't grasp, despite my best efforts to explain how to top off evaporating water with prime. I just gave my fish food.By the time I arrived at my house, the tank had fully crashed. No water was entering the inlet since enough of it had evaporated. The secondary bottom hole that kept the tank from running dry was siliconed by me.This pump I purchased performs admirably! Compared to the OEM Fluval Spec pump, it is a little bigger. The water intake must be positioned so that it faces a wall directly. But this pump's irrelevance is what I adore about it. The pump's inlet is located at the very bottom. So it's fantastic! The bottom may allow water to enter. Not only that, I use this pump on high, but I also have a DIY spray bar that reduces flow, and I also use polishing pads that do the same. Punch a hole in the outflow tube as well to allow water to circulate around the heater, further reducing flow. My betta appears to be happy. And I am too!It was mentioned that the pump is loud. It was merely improperly installed in the pump area of the Spec. It will rattle if it's tilted, touching the glass, or if the suction cups aren't used to properly secure it to the bottom. This is also true of the OEM Fluval pump. There is no pump noise at all. All I can hear are the air stone's bubbles.Outflow tube adapters are included – NICE! The flow rate dial is another feature I believe sets it apart from the OEM pump on the Fluval Spec. It is solid! like quite impossible to turn with the fingers. In all honesty, I initially believed my purchase to be faulty, but it turned out to be OK. Because the flow rate switch in the Fluval pump is so flimsy, this is actually pretty fantastic! No matter what setting you choose, the pump will always wobble toward the middle while you're putting it in the pump chamber. This was the worst! It always readjusted itself on the way down, no matter how careful I was. To hold the switch firmly in place, I ultimately had to insert a piece of silicone into the crack.For $9, I'm just going to go ahead and get a couple more of these after hearing that someone's pump barely lasted a few months. just to have it available. We'll see how long mine lasts, but I think it'll last for a very long time.The pump in your Spec may be quickly and affordably replaced with this one. Undoubtedly, I'll purchase a backup device to keep on hand in case this one breaks out.

My daughter's new 55-gallon aquarium will use this pump. To ensure the best possible circulation, run a 1/2" hose diagonally from the tank's bottom to its top. Surprisingly, the hose is only estimated to be 2 feet long and has a wattage of only 11 watts. The 15-watt rating, which is already lower than the majority of the rival pumps, piqued my skepticism. So it goes without saying that when I saw that it only uses 11 watts with 2 feet of resistance, I was thrilled.The silence is almost complete. The air pump that is located behind the glass door is now the only source of equipment noise.Although there are only a few little fish in there, the flow could have been stronger. No matter what, the filtration and circulation are powerful enough to provide our fish with healthy amounts of nitrite and nitrate. great results. strong, but it can be lowered. Sand created a hazy mess in my tank after I added it, yet this pump continued to function flawlessly. When it comes to fine sand particles going within the mechanisms of other pumps/filters that I've owned, they are really finicky (they grind loudly or just stop working). Even after being battered by extremely hazy sand-water, this tiny pump is still silent and performing flawlessly. With constant use, this pump barely lasted for 10 months. I used it on an indoor nft hydroponic system where the water was always between 68 and 72 degrees. Now, in order to get the impeller cover installed while it is still spinning and start the engine, I have to manually engage the impeller. Pump won't resume after power loss. Very alarming if you're using it to preserve anything priceless. I've owned dozens of submersible pumps from various manufacturers, but Rio or Aquarium Systems pumps continue to be my favorites. Most reliable pumps I've owned will operate continuously for 5 years or longer.A free replacement was offered to me by the seller after learning that my previous pump had not performed as well as it should have. This submersible water pump was purchased for a porch fountain. That hydrates my cats. A gallon or even a gallon and a half of water can be stored in the fountain. When I opened the package and saw how tiny this product was, I was taken aback. I was concerned that it wouldn't perform the task I needed it to. I was FALSE. It produces a huge amount of power. It is portable and comfortable in your hand. Which was exactly what I needed it to do because the area in which it must fit is narrow but deep. Additionally, there isn't much buzzing or humming. Only the sound of the water running can be heard. My other pumps may often last around two years if I dry and store them properly over the winter. We'll see how long this one lasts. My fountain runs continuously from Spring till the end of November because I live in Texas.

The 145 is what I ordered for my freshwater tanks. A power head would improve the circulation in both of my tanks, but since I don't know much about aquarium equipment, I figured I'd start with one. For my 40 gallon breeder, the 145 is quite nice. With my plants, I can see the water flow, and my sand is remaining put. Although I believe I would prefer one with a little bit more flow, this one may possibly be ideal for my tank. For my 75, I'll need to size up one or two to get what I want. My fish also like to swim in and out of the water flow.
