This one for the F150 was 100% plug and play after we purchased a comparable one for our 2017 challenger. Installing the device took me less than five minutes; in fact, I had to dig out my side cutters and zip ties first.The greatest location for this is when the driver's door is opened. On the side of the dash is a panel that reads "F150." Just enough to reveal the panel, pull the door seal apart.The panel will simply pop out if you pull out straight from the bottom of it. The Fortin just requires the Small White and Small Black connectors to be connected. Behind the air vent, lower the OBDII connector.Remove the OBD connector from the truck by grabbing it from behind. The factory wire should be plugged into the T-harness, and the new harness should go into the OBDII port. I secured the Ford wire bundle under the dash with a zip tie.Hold down the Fortin's Black button while The small black connector that doesn't have a push tab should be plugged in.On Fortin, light will turn completely blue.Release the button, then insert the little, white connector.Don't start, just turn the key to run.Once the blue LED has flashed 10 times, keep an eye on the fortin.Offset the keyClose the door with the key in your hand, being careful not to damage the fortinthree times on the remote's lock button. After a little delay, the fortin will attempt to lock the doors before starting the vehicle.You should simultaneously depress the unlock button and the brake pedal. When our trucks are started, they can tell if the cab is warm or cold. In essence, once we got ours, I could start my truck in the summer and the air conditioner would switch on and run. Now, if it's cold in the winter, it starts the truck and activates the defrost. I tested both while leaving the HVAC in the Off position, but I'm not sure if this is a 2018-specific issue. Meaning that even with the power switch off, it turned on and ran. The lights on the HVAC won't turn on until the key is turned, so you won't be able to tell if it is on.When I turn the key on my truck, the defrost will be running at a medium pace if I had turned it off previously; if I had left it on, it will return to the setting I had originally selected.

I had to acquire a faraday pouch to block any signals after learning that auto thieves had the technology to enter cars using a smart key fob. To prevent a break-in or even having my car taken, I'd gladly take the extra step or two of locking the car and putting the key in the pouch. Great price!Value for money is great!I've only had it for three weeks, so I can't really comment on durability just yet. But I will add that the plastic cases are unquestionably thinner—or made of a different kind of material altogether. Although they are lighter than the original Chevy cases, what matters most to me and my wallet is that they lock, unlock, and operate the back hatch and panic buttons. Are they prepared to deal with Driver 1 against Driver 2? I dunno, dad and I don't give a damn about that.Do they operate? Yes! No problems programming to my father's 2004 Vette. battery installed and prepared for programming when it arrived. If you need some backups for a "awe crap" day, it's worth it! I purchased my brother and his infant daughter (my niece) this remote starter as a gift so that he can keep his car warm during the chilly months. An entry-level remote starter kit is the Compustar CS-920-S. The 1000-foot-range 1-way remotes that come with your car have no audible or visible indication that your car has been locked, unlocked, started remotely, or that the trunk has been opened. When the buttons are pressed, the LED becomes completely blue. To activate the door locks on your car, simply press the Lock or Unlock buttons once. To open your car's trunk, push and hold the trunk release button for 2.5 seconds (if trunk is wired to the remote start module). The remote start button (the one with the asterisk) needs to be depressed and held down for 2.5 seconds in order to remotely start the vehicle. In contrast, 2-way remote controls will confirm your button presses with either sound or vision. However, the CM900 module included with this kit works with other Compustar 2-way remotes, including fancy 2-way remotes with LCDs. Therefore, you don't need to purchase a new remote starting if you require longer range 2-way remotes in the future; instead, just purchase a 2-way remotes kit (remove old antenna, plug in new antenna and program the new remotes to the system as indicated in page 5 of the installation manual) DroneMobile technology is also compatible with this module.The CM900 module is only suitable for remote starting automatic transmission automobiles due to its compact size. Due to a lack of essential ports, such as a siren port, shock sensor port, etc., this module cannot be upgraded to add alarm functionality. I went to Walmart and purchased some energizers, but nothing. I installed an OEM battery I had in a different fob I don't use. It succeeded. purchased; it was effective. If you have a GM fob, buy this to avoid a headache. It's possible that I have a defective battery.

I tried to order two key fobs after reading the description of the item incorrectly. Since there are two in each bundle, I made the mistake of ordering four fobs for my 2016 Jeep Patriot. I tried to program them myself using YouTube, but as it turns out, you actually need 2 original keys to do that. All the keysmiths I contacted to get pricing quotes said was that they could not guarantee the programming would work on after-market keys but that they would still charge me a high amount whether it was programmed or not. I called a Jeep dealership (not the one where I bought the car, but one I had previously done business with) because I was afraid about being stuck with just one key, and they gave me a $60 programming cost price. Two of the keys were cut for free at a hardware store, and the other two were only $5 each at the dealership. What an offer. I brought in 4 keys, and for a single $60 cost, they were all programmed. Sweet! I spent about $80.00 in total (with the Amazon discount) and now have 5 completely functional key fobs. The keysmiths were charging me $180 for one, so this is a significant save. While I can't speak for every key fob offered on this website, the one I purchased from them worked perfectly for me and was delivered in a matter of days thanks to my Amazon Prime membership.
