I have a 2017 Lakota 3 horse 11' Short wall living quarters horse trailer and a 2011 Ford F-350 SD short bed truck. Towing with the typical bw turnover ball went without a hitch. I simply need a bit more space to turn around quickly. This 4" setback hitch fits my needs EXACTLY! I no longer have to be concerned about the trailer nose popping the windows out when I approach my rig at a full 90°. I can actually "breathe" thanks to it!The painted finish is the only thing I don't like. The moment you begin using it, the paint will begin to fracture and flake off. Considering the cost, it is definitely worthwhile to carry one in your pickup just in case. I adore it.

6/6/2016 —-First of all, the kit does not resemble the image at all for Ram pickups of the current model year. There are no rails; all that has to be installed over your rear axle is a rectangular piece that is bolted in place. Visit Etrailer or YouTube to find install videos.Without help or having to take off my muffler, I was able to complete the installation by myself. However, I did and do advise taking off your spare tire before installing it, especially if you're working on the ground.Product of very excellent quality. This is a fantastic answer. I recently purchased a 2015 F250 with fifth wheel rails. found this whilst looking for a gooseneck hitch. straightforward, robust, and well-built. The slight gap between the rails and the hitch was the only problem. When stopping and starting, it would clunk. After much research, it was discovered that many fifth wheel setups have this problem. For this problem, Curt particularly manufactures dampening pads: 5th Wheel Rail Sound Dampening Pads, 4-Pack, CURT 16900.I just ordered them, and after I get them, I'll update this review. If it works, it's a $10 fix!UPDATE 7/8/2019: The slop is gone after putting the CURT 16900 5th Wheel Rail Sound Dampening Pads. The only drawback is that you need a hammer to insert and remove the pins. However, I do not frequently remove the hitch, so it is a little price to pay.Another concern is that this hitch has very little paint on it, and rust is already beginning to emerge after only a few months. At some time, I'll have to paint it with some Rustoleum. Overall, I would repurchase.

Two of these were bought to attach to my gooseneck horse trailers. Now that these strong locks are in place, I feel much more secure keeping them outside. Now, stealing one of my trailers would require considerably more work than most burglars are prepared to put forth. To secure these, I utilised powerful bolt cutter-proof locks. I would strongly recommend these to everyone, especially those who have luxury living quarters horse trailers.

At roughly twice the price, Ford sells the exact identical equipment. I compared it to my friend's Ford kit, and they are identical. It appears that Reese sells these gooseneck ball kits to both Ford and Dodge. When you travel into town, be careful not to leave the ball and chain holders in your truck. Due to their high price, people love to steal them.
