A psychotic individual who, in my opinion, was going to try to force her way into my house before realizing I was there with my wife was caught on camera today by the wired security system I bought and installed at our home. Prior to this, I had WiFi cameras, but those were only "wireless" in the sense that I had to supply power to them, which was more onerous than running a conventional cord like these do. Both the setup and use of the software were simple. With all cameras mounted, the hard disk records for eight consecutive days on loop. On the side of my house, where I did the setup, it looks really decent and you hardly ever see them. With a drill and some silicon caulk, you may easily perform a professional installation by yourself because the wires were very simple to slide up under the crease in my vinyl siding. I don't typically post reviews, but after what happened today and how simple it was for me to film the video, I felt compelled to. I'll keep recommending!

First off, setup was not too difficult; if you are handy, installation and programming will go smoothly. utilizing a stable power supply and already-existing coaxial connections. It comes with everything, so you can set it up right away without making additional visits to the store for some cables or cords, which is one thing I really like about it.* Visuals: The images that are presented by the system are astonishingly clear. They switch to black and white when there is less light. Therefore, it appears that the cameras have excellent light sensitivity.* View: These cameras are of exceptional quality, and they have a far wider field of view than my earlier cameras.I've just had this system for a few weeks, and I still haven't linked all of the cameras (though I did test them). Installing was really simple. However, it's quite simple to remove the tiny screw nut that you release in order to adjust the camera. and, while on a ladder, you fall eternally into the grass... IF you're careless. And it's tough to find a replacement for those nuts because they're so little. So you just secure one of your cameras with duct tape. not like me. In any case, everything went up within an hour with the exception of losing the nut off the tiny screw you need to adjust the camera. I also downloaded the app, so while I can now see the video from anywhere, I'm still not sure how to get it to alert me when motion is detected. I haven't yet figured out if it works. I think the night vision is incredibly effective; if there is anything outside in the deepest darkness, you will definitely see it. To prevent evidence theft, I planned to hide the DVR and all of the cords. However, the DVR gets quite warm, so I didn't think covering it was a good idea. Despite all the minor drawbacks thus far, I really like it. For the price, it can't be beat.

Let's start by saying that I previously owned an Arlo 5 camera system. It was a good system for the most part, but if you have spotty WiFi like I do, you can see why Arlo is a bad choice and why I had to sell my system. It used to really take between 30 and 45 seconds to load the Arlo app when I tried to obtain a live view of my cameras. By then, someone attempting to steal from you could easily escape with your belongings. The wireless cameras would lag and miss up to 10 seconds of captured motion, which was another problem I had with them. My response to this issue was to sell my Arlo wireless cameras and replace them with a wired pair. After roughly two months of extensive shopping, I chose the Reolink 4 camera package. Although there are many different camera sets available, I chose the Reolink cameras because I loved them.Even though I've owned this package for a little more than two months, I'm just now writing my first review. I wanted to be sure I was knowledgeable and could articulate what I liked and didn't like about these cameras.Pros: • I purchased these cameras with the hopes that they would be quicker than my old Arlo cameras, and I'm happy to report that they are. The POE (power over ethernet) system is pretty simple with just one cable used to power the camera and provide picture, and they seem very sturdy and unlikely to get messed up from being outdoors. I open the app, click on the camera I want to view, and within seconds I'm watching a live stream of my home. Despite this, I still mounted them in a location where they wouldn't be harmed by hail or other weather-related events.Cons: • This is to be expected with wired cameras, so it wasn't a major concern to me, but for some, having to crawl to your eaves from inside your attic will be challenging or annoying. Although it will take time and possibly be very hot, it won't be too tough if you have the correct tools and outside assistance. How to install these cameras on your eaves is not covered in great detail in the instructions. You have work ahead of you if, like me, you want to run the cables to your eaves through the attic rather than simply stapling them to your exterior wall. Before I felt secure enough to begin the installation process, I had to watch more than a few YouTube videos. Last but not least, and this is just my opinion; others may disagree, the app can be a little challenging to use. It's not a big deal for me because I've gotten used to it, but new owners will need to allow themselves time to get accustomed to the system and how it operates.I've included some pictures that I hope will be helpful for those who are doing their own installation.So far, I've put in three bullet cameras and one dome-shaped camera. The dome-shaped camera installation is shown in the pictures.You will receive a template sticker in your kit and with every additional camera you purchase that is the exact same size and shape as the bottom of the camera. Place the camera where you want it by sticking the back on after peeling it off. Remember that thieves will rip bullet cameras off your eaves and run away with them because they are an easy target. You could simply plan ahead and put it somewhere that will be difficult to get to, or you could wish and hope that it captures their face on camera so you can give it to the police. Purchase a dome-shaped camera that you can put almost anywhere as an alternative. It would be very difficult for someone to sneak up on it in the middle of the night, grab it, and rip it off the eave because of the dome shape. I mounted the single dome-shaped camera I needed over my driveway. They are much more difficult to access and are hidden behind my fence.Once you've placed the sticker in the desired location on your eaves, grab a spade bit. I used a 7/8 bit, which created the ideal-sized hole for my cables to pass through. Three cable ends will be present on the camera: a reset button, an ethernet connection, and an additional 12 volt power source. Make sure there are no live wires running through the attic directly above you before drilling through the eave, and avoid drilling into any wooden studs or beams as this will prevent you from feeding your cables through.Drilling the mounting holes for the camera itself comes next. The bullet cam had three holes, while the dome-shaped camera had four. Drill a hole that is roughly the same size as the plastic anchors that came with the kit. Sadly, I can't remember what size brill bit I used to make the anchors. It was probably either a 7/32 or a 15/64. Work your way up from the bottom up. You can always drill wider if the hole is too small for the anchor to fit through, but if you do so too quickly, the anchor won't hold when you screw a screw through it. Push the anchors in after the holes are drilled until they are firmly in place.You'll need these two tools to help finish the job once that's done. These are now optional but will really make a challenging task much simpler. A roll of fishing tape, which is frequently used by electricians to, you guessed it, fish wires out from behind walls or, in this case, eaves, is required. Get a lengthy piece of 1 1/2 inch Pex tubing like the one I have in the picture as well. Mine was more than long enough at 10 feet. Since I actually had some of this tubing lying around from a previous plumbing job in my garage, I can attest that it saved my life during the installation. As you go through the attic carrying the ethernet cable to where the hole and your friend are, have someone wait outside by the hole while you remove the template sticker.The Pex tubing should then be pushed through the hole by the person outside until you can see it on your end. Have your friend bend the tubing first and then feed it through if your eaves are difficult, like mine are. The Pex won't straighten out and will continue to be bent. Have your friend feed the fish tape through the tubing until it exits the tube on your end once you can see it and grab it. Once it is at your end, secure one end of the Ethernet cable to the fishing tape with the other end of the cable before having your friend pull the fishing tape and tubing out simultaneously. As you exit the attic, make sure to bring the opposite end of the Ethernet cable with you so you can connect it to the DVR.Simply connect the ethernet cable to the camera once it is outside and through the hole. Then, tuck all wires into the 7/8-inch hole and secure the camera to the eave. After that, attach the other end of the Ethernet cable to the DVR. As a side note, you'll need to choose a location for your DVR. On YouTube, I've seen some people leave them in the attic while others keep them close to their television. I positioned my above my kitchen cabinets, which required me to drill a small hole through my ceiling out of plain sight to bring the wires down from the attic.The DVR just needs to be turned on, the app downloaded, and everything set up via your phone or computer. I hope that this helps to ease the process for you and gives you the confidence to perform your own installation.(The final four images show two different locations near my home during the day and at night, both with and without night vision.)

The simplicity of setup impressed me positively. It has good picture quality. There are multiple brick block walls between the farthest camera and the base, despite the fact that the cameras were placed within 100' of the main unit. There is still a strong wireless signal. If not for the desktop software and the camera mounting base, I would have given it a five-star rating. The angle on the post part needed to be tightened down on all of the cameras with a lot of power (one camera wouldn't tighten down at all). Setting the base's rotation was not too difficult. The desktop application is another issue I have (Remote PC access). The software is difficult to utilize on its own. A restart is frequently required once the software loses communication with the cameras. Even when the correct login information is saved, logging in frequently fails. The software is unable to access the stored video when in playback mode. I've discovered that restarting the program is the only way to get back to the live feed from the playback. Obtaining stored data requires a very long time. I'm pleased that the iPhone app seems to operate fairly effectively. There aren't many significant issues about the NVR software. None of the recordings have been attempted to be saved to a thumb drive. When I do, I'll update the review. Since all of the cameras are located indoors, I am unable to remark on the night recording.I am satisfied with the system overall and will buy an 8 camera version for my home and stables.

I've had reputable security cameras for years, but two of them decided they'd had enough and committed themselves by drowning. Small cracks occurred in the camera casing itself where it meets with the mounting base allowing water to do the rest.Even though I've only had this camera for a few days, I've already been impressed enough to post a review. Our waterfront home provides a difficulty for security cameras even during the day due to radically varied quantities of sunshine. All six of my cameras covering the lake side of the property have trouble when the area they are covering is divided between total shade and brilliant sunlight. My name brand cameras absolutely flare out the bright section of the picture, you wouldn't see an elephant pass past! Not this little man and the image I supplied explains the story. Please note that nothing was done to this photo besides cropping it to get the makers name out of it. With my other cameras the sunlit area of this photo would have flared out so badly you would have had a hard time even spotting the windows let alone the furniture. And if you look closely in the corner beside the sliding glass door you'll find the motion detecting LED flood lights. They are incredibly bright and would certainly cause trouble for my old camera. When those LEDs came on at night that camera's picture would flare out so severely that I couldn't tell you if my Golden Retriever was at the sliding door. I tested this multiple times yesterday night and this Zosi camera was wonderful. When the LED floods came on the Zosi offered me a wonderful, no flares picture. Forget the dog, now I'll be able to check the footage and finally find out which cat keeps dropping dead tiny presents in front of that door for me.This camera is set on top of a deck railing, entirely exposed to the eliminates. It shouldn't take long to find out find out how well it's constructed. Would I recommend this camera to a friend? Not yet, I'll give it a few months, but if the visual quality remains as is, then certainly I would. But, in the meanwhile I'm ordering two more of them to replace a couple other name brand cameras I'm not thrilled with anymore.Keep in mind that the 3.66mm lens doesn't provide a vast field of view so if you're attempting to cover a large area with a single camera this may not be the camera for you. Also, because the deck has accent lighting at night I can't give you an honest judgment on the infrared capabilities. Although I certainly didn't detect any difference from the camera it replaced.PS: If you have an area that your cameras Ir doesn't produce enough light you can consider just installing an Ir emitter. They are affordable and can provide a lot of light in regions you currently can't see at night. Search Amazon for "CCTV ir illuminator".

After doing extensive research on cameras for our home, I settled on this Zosi model primarily for two reasons: the price and the numerous, overwhelmingly excellent reviews. I had thought about using one of the modern wireless cameras, but there were simply too many reviews that noted several connectivity issues, so I decided to stick with the hard-wired video and power variety. My reasoning was that a wireless camera is useless if the house wireless network breaks down or any camera's connection is shaky. In April and May of 2017, I bought four of these cameras so far. Three of them are outside, and ever since I put them, rain or sun, they have worked perfectly. I mounted my camera using gray 4-inch round PVC light boxes and waterproof 3/4-inch PVC conduit. For the cable to enter the box, I bored a 1/2-inch hole in the center of the box's cover. I attached them to the covers using flat-head stainless steel machine screws, sealing the screw holes with silicone sealant to keep out the elements and sealing the bracket's edge to keep out the elements. There was plenty of room inside those 4-inch boxes for the connections to roll up, and the installation was pleasant and tidy. Two of the three cameras are installed in the photo that is included. One of the four cameras I bought is still inside our home and is being used in the basement until it can be mounted permanently. The camera's night vision range is outstanding, but when there are reflective surfaces for the infrared to bounce off of (sheds, lattice, etc.), it is even better. The video is really clear and crisp throughout the day as well as at night, and the greatest part is that these don't cost 5 to 8 times as much as the other cameras I first considered. In the case that the power goes out, I have a UPS power backup for the system. The cameras continuously record. To top it all off, I recently set up an additional "entertainment system" consisting of four professional-style agile TV modulators that I found for incredibly cheap each on a well-known auction site (starts with an E), fed by the video from the camera, with their RF outputs combined to allow one coax with four TV channels to connect to our 65-inch Smart TV's "TV" antenna input in the Master Bedroom. When there is nothing interesting to watch on cable TV, we can use this to view very large images of our property and watch the raccoons come and go. Within the past week, one of the four cameras and I did experience a problem. Since I was past Amazon's return window and the front "lens" (or glass) had become internally fogged, I called Zosi Customer Service directly. The issue was handled by Zosi in an incredibly quick and amazing manner; it was the best customer support I have recently had from ANY provider. For the prompt resolution, a special thank you to "Anran" from Zosi Customer Service! These cameras, in my opinion, are excellent value for money, and Zosi's customer service is outstanding! What more could you possibly want?

For my mother's house, I had originally purchased a 720 system from Zosi. The ease of setup and the caliber of the customer service so impressed me that I felt compelled to investigate buying a system for my house. I chose the 8 channel 1080p Zosi system with the 2 TB hard drive and four 1080p cameras after doing a lot of research. This device is awesome! Everything about it is wonderful. The cameras' build quality is nice and heavy, with a metal housing. The setup is very simple. The wiring through the attic was probably the most difficult part of the setup, but once it was finished and plugged in, the images looked fantastic. Compared to 720p cameras, these cameras have a wider field of view. I adore the motion detection function that notifies you via email and includes a photo of the event that caused it. It can also enlarge the current image. I also adore the Zosi View App. I only need to log into the app from wherever I am to instantly see a live view of my home and property when I receive an email alert! Even to check who is at my front door, I use the all! I have it recording constantly, and it's very simple to go back and see what was happening at a specific time. I recommend this camera system to anyone who wants a little extra security and peace of mind around their property because it is an excellent value. Whether it's catching pranksters who ring the doorbell and flee, catching someone stealing your mail, or catching someone stealing your kids' toys. This is essential.
