Mavi Men's Zach Straight Leg Review:

My new favorite pair of jeans are from Mavi!I had long purchased Silver brand and Lucky brand jeans, but this month I discovered Mavi jeans in a small shop in Las Vegas. These jeans feel fantastic and are constructed of denim that has some give for a laid-back vibe. There aren't many jeans manufacturers that carry my size because I am 6'6" and have a 36" inseam, but Mavi has a wide assortment. Since my unintentional discovery, I've ordered two pairs, and each is just as amazing as the first. The color of the wash has remained consistent, and unlike some jeans, they did not lose their fit or feel after a few washings.I enjoy that I can dress up or down in these jeans. They look just as well with Nikes and a t-shirt as they do with a nice coat and suede shoes. I must admit that I have never received as many praises on a pair of pants. In Mavi Jeans, I find that a 38 waist fits me perfectly. Normally, I need a 38 or a 40 waist. This, in my opinion, is caused by the fabric's "give." Although I wouldn't go as far as to advise getting a size lower than usual, if you are on the fence about a size, I would advise going smaller rather than larger. The inseam length appears to be perfect; it hits me just where a 36" typically would, near the top of my shoes. Please select the helpful button if you found this review to be informative or useful in making your choice. Mavi Men's Jake Regular-Rise Tapered Slim Fit Jeans Review:

I don't want to wear "dad pants" even if I'm no longer a child. Finding a pair with a modern, thinner fit that was neither too tight nor had the low rise, which I detest.Having a thinner profile without being too tight is made possible by the superb fit and slight elasticity of these pants. They also appear slick and contemporary (my daughters even said they look good on me)Cons: If these are regular rise, I would say they are on the low end of regular but not horrible enough to be a problem. Jeans came with a chemical smell that is still noticeable after two washes. At 5'10" and 165 pounds, the 33x30 fit me perfectly. Just so you know, the color and rinse are darker in real life than in the picture.Update: After several washes, the chemical scent disappears. These jeans are still fantastic, and I would get another pair if they weren't sold out. Perhaps in a different color.

Levi's Men's 511 Slim Fit Jean's Review:

I've not worn Levis in a long time, so I'm thrilled to get a pair of 511s. Though thin, they are not skinny. These are the jeans that fit me the best overall, and I intend to purchase several more pairs in various colors. While still feeling and seeming like a narrow fit jean, there is enough leeway in the thigh region and throughout the leg to be comfortable. The fact that the flex material isn't just everywhere is extremely wonderful. It appears to be put where you'd need it the most, strategically. I particularly notice it around the waist. Because of the flex feature, I never have any trouble zipping or buttoning these jeans at the waist. I have many other pairs of jeans that fit me perfectly throughout yet, for some reason, won't fasten at the waist and make me feel chubby. I've been buying jeans in this size and style from the Gap for years, but these are significantly superior and much less expensive. I wish I had looked again at Levis years ago.

Mavi Men's Matt Relaxed Straight Leg Review:

Okay, these items have just arrived... Given the price, I reasoned that I had to genuinely appreciate them before returning them. Even though I hadn't even washed them when I tried them on right out of the box, it felt like I had been wearing them for ten years. One thing that concerns me was that the front appeared to be significantly lighter than the rest of the body and had pretty contrasting wrinkles or other top features, neither of which I like. But it is much more uniform now (at least with the pair I received).I've reached the point where I'm tired of paying for items that are less expensive but that I either am not completely satisfied with or must replace regularly. If I had just bought the nice item the first time, I would have avoided headaches and ultimately saved money. This is an illustration of paying more for something you appreciate and know will last rather than paying less and needing to replace it after just using it for a third of the time.I've decided to start treating every purchase as though it were the final one I will ever make. That's what I'm hoping for with these pants, but if not, at least I know what brand I'll keep buying when they do eventually wear out.

Levi's Men's 527 Slim Bootcut Jean Review:

The 527 pairs of jeans being sold here are not all identical. Some washes are purportedly STRETCH 527s and some are made entirely of cotton. Some are quite thin while others are fairly heavy and thick. I ordered 7 pairs, and after 6 washes, I discovered:Both "Tumbled Rigid" and "Overhaul" are heavyweight denim made entirely of cotton. I got both pairs with a 32" inseam, but they actually fit more like a 34" inseam. According to the Levi's website, "Indigo Black" is likewise heavyweight denim made of 100% cotton. The midweight denim styles "Highway," "And" (or "Andi"), and "Medium Chipped" are all made of 100% cotton. The inseam appeared to be the 32" that I requested. Despite being described as midweight on the Levi's website, the denim is extremely thin. Although they are attractive washes, they are simple to cut, snag, and damage. The first time I wore a pair, I nearly destroyed them.Covered Up is not made entirely of cotton; rather, it contains a significant amount of polyester and elastane. The label really reads "STRETCH 527 narrow bootcut." I'm returning it. Some of these other washes, including "Wave Allusions," are stretch denim, according to the Levi's website. These are also produced all around the world. Some people cite Vietnam, Egypt, and Cambodia. The first pair of "Highway" shoes I ordered was made in Egypt, while the second pair was created in Vietnam, and I ordered them many weeks apart. What a waste of consistency!

Dickies Men's Regular-Fit 5-Pocket Jean Review:

You can't find better jeans than these, and they're also reasonably priced. I have worn "Dad Jeans" for many years and am now an old man (61). The most comfortable pair of jeans I've ever owned were a pair from LLBean that felt like very soft cotton right out of the box, but they were on sale and have since only been available at too high of a price, so wearing them every day quickly wore them out. Dickies, on the other hand, might not be as soft right out of the box, but with just a few washings, they become incredibly comfy and wear like iron! I now have six pair and use them every day because the first pair from a few years ago have bleach splash areas from cleaning items and yard and automobile (and motorcycle) stains at the knees. I used to purchase indigo for a little more formal (in the sense of jeans) and stone washed for daily wear, but I've now discovered that indigo turns into a wonderful stone washed after a few months, so now that's what I get and just let them fade over time. These are the jeans for you if you don't require the back pocket magic stitching but still want comfortable, long-lasting clothing.Edited on February 15, 2017: These are still wonderful jeans, however I wanted to mention that all of mine were produced in Mexico.

Southpole Men's Flex Stretch Basic Twill and Rinse Denim Pants Review:

Beginning in March 2017, I required new blue jeans for the office (the only reason I buy pants, I prefer kilts). I thus purchased one pair of these to test them out. I liked them, and the stretchy material was really comfy. So I ordered a second pair approximately a week later. Even though the sizes were the same, the second pair was a little looser than the first. Not a big problem; I was wearing a belt with them anyhow. After eight months of consistent use and washing, while working five days a week (coffee shop). One pair's zipper broke while the wearer was wearing them, and it was impossible to fix without replacing the entire zipper. The second couple carried out the same action exactly one week later. I'm not sure if it was just a bizarre coincidence that I purchased them a week apart and the zippers failed a week apart. Or maybe that's just how long the zipper lasts... I simply left the zippers the way they were because I wear an apron to work. A month or so later, the fabric along the seam at the crotch began to deteriorate. This assumes that each pair is used and cleaned three times per week. If I had bought a few more pairs, they might have lasted another year. I only gave it four stars because I absolutely dislike wearing trousers.

Southpole Men's Relaxed-Fit Core Jean Jean Review:

The existence of vanity sizing may be in question, but these jeans fit perfectly. This is one of the very few companies that truly labels its jeans TO THE MEASURED SIZE. I measure myself using a tape measure that is highly accurate. These jeans are the right size for me at 34 in the waist. After the first wash, all three of the pairs I purchased, which were all little larger than 34, fit well. The leg room in the jeans is just right, and they are quite comfy. In college, I wore Southpole jeans, but the shop where I had previously purchased them has since closed. Since then, I've had trouble locating jeans that fit well and have appropriate labels. I'm really happy that Southpole now offers Amazon sales. Definitely a good investment!
