This bag is AMAZING! For a week, I traveled with it throughout Italy, and it was quite effective. Fortunately, I've never been a pickpocket victim, but I still felt very secure keeping my money in this purse. In the same zipped compartment, I stored my cards in the slots and my loose cash and change in the side pockets. I kept some miscellaneous stuff and sunglasses in the other locking compartment. I kept tissues and chapstick in the front pocket's tiny, non-locking compartment. I stored my collapsible water bottle and maps in the back non-locking pocket. I hooked my water bottle to the side of the bag when I was using it, and it also worked great. For its small, the purse has surprisingly much space. The hue midnight blue is gorgeous. It blends in with everything and keeps you from standing out. I would repurchase.

Despite all the reviews saying this was a "small girl's" purse, I'm delighted I got this bag. A lovely "grandma's" pocketbook is also in it! Take a look at the proportions; they are excellent. This is what I have in my bag or purse. My car keys, my cell phone, my wallet, my sunglasses in their case, my base station for my "fall alarm system," a notepad, a few pens, and, if I need it for certain purchases, my checkbook. Despite all of this, the bag does not appear to be overfilled. There is plenty of space to upload pictures of the grandchildren while I eat lunch with my friends. I do want to treat the exterior of the bag with a water/stain resistant spray. It is a gorgeous color, but very light (exactly like the photo) and I suppose it could soil quickly. This was my buy for a two-week trip to Italy. I needed something that was both lightweight and practical for all the walking we would be doing while viewing the attractions because I was worried about pickpockets. I adored this purse. I was overjoyed that I bought it. When you have water bottles in the side pockets, as one reviewer noticed, it can feel a little heavy across your shoulder, but the practicality of the water bottle pocket much outweighs any discomfort. The entire time we were in Italy, it was scorching hot—over 100°F. I could easily use my camera and carry water thanks to this bag. These compartments zip closed when not transporting water. I was able to have a bottle for my spouse and myself while having my hands free because it carries 2 bottles, one on each end. There are many lockable compartments, which allowed me to separate my money, medications, and other necessities. The interior isn't very big, but I had no trouble carrying my sunglasses case and other belongings. With the lockable zipper sections and the frequent crowding, I also felt secure at all times. I've never had a problem. Having read some reviews that claimed the bag fell apart or the strap snapped, I also thought it was quite durable. I also thought the bag was very well made because I occasionally carried several items in it, including larger filled water bottles, without experiencing any problems. I spent days hunting for a decent laptop/work bag that fit the style/value/functionality paradigm I required, and I'm ashamed to admit it. I didn't want the bag to look polished and professional because I knew I would use it both inside and outside of the office, but I also didn't want it to be made of nylon with plastic clips and velcro. I believe that this Samsonite bag fulfills all of my requirements. The leather is deep brown in color and incredibly comfortable to the touch. There is enough space inside for two or three books, a laptop, and some wires. I like that there are two zipped compartments since they prevent people from seeing what you're carrying when the flap is open. The hardware is made of sturdy tarnished brass and feels sturdy. The strap appears to be in good condition, but the pad needs to be replaced because it doesn't provide much padding, especially when the bag is fully laden. Buy this if you want a professional-looking bag that goes well with a suit or a pair of jeans.

I typically keep my wallet, phone, iPad mini, day planner (yeah, I'm still in the stone age), a small umbrella, Kleenex, and other miscellaneous small items in my bag. If I need to add a smaller water bottle or any other stray items I pick up along the route, I still have room.I really appreciate the straps because they are not slippery and are long enough for my reasonably large arms. The leather-like side is on one side, and the canvas side is on the other. The canvas keeps the straps in place while the leather gives it a lovely appearance.The bag has many useful compartments and pockets inside, and there is a little zipped pocket on the rear that is ideal for holding keys. The central "sandwich" compartment in the bag is ideal for storing private items that you don't want to accidentally spill out (it is zippered and secure). additionally, there is an interior zipper pocket on the back that is excellent for tiny personal items.The interior phone pocket is rather shallow, and my iPhone 6 does not actually fit in it, which is my sole concern. It often flips out and lands in the bag.To everyone, I would heartily suggest this bag. It has a wonderful appearance, a fair price, and is highly practical.

I enjoy this purse. Everything I need is there. It is well-built but lacks bells and whistles. I read reviews claiming that it is flimsy. They had a point, but I already knew how I was going to correct it. The thing is now strong, absolutely bombproof, and waterproof because I waxed it. It may have contracted slightly in the dryer (my waxing procedure involves 45 minutes in a pillowcase on high heat), but not significantly enough to cause an issue.For waxing, combine one pound of beeswax with eight ounces of boiling linseed oil and eight ounces of turpentine in a double boiler. Place the fabric (garment, bag, etc.) into a cotton pillowcase that you don't care about, and throw it into a laundromat dryer on high for 45 minutes. Paint the hot, melted mixture thoroughly into seams and all exterior surfaces. In order to get rid of the turpentine smell and to harden the wax that has now been evenly distributed throughout every fiber, remove the fabric and let it air dry outside for 24 hours. Waterproof! Rewax once a year. The fabric will significantly darken and is great for bags, jackets, tarps made of cotton or canvas, etc.
